Chapter 66
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
After making the call and arranging for the mercenaries to protect Olivia, Daniel leaned back in his chair and suddenly sneered.
The man leaned back in his chair. He didnât sit up straight, and his posture was even a little crooked. If anyone else sat like this, they would definitely be labeled as indecent or ruffian. However, when it came to Daniel, there was a charm to it.
Daniel recalled that five years ago, Olivia was only 18 years old. She was lively and energetic every single day. Olivia would go out to play hard during the day and could still read novels when she came back at night. As she read, Olivia would bite her lip and smile at Daniel like a little fool.
When asked what she was laughing at, Olivia would say that she was reading novels about a CEO. In the novel, the male lead was very stupid. He had an IQ of 180, but he could not see through the clumsy tricks of the supporting female role. The CEO inevitably misunderstood. He was rich and powerful, but as long as the female lead went overseas, he would not be able to find her. The CEO was powerful. He had countless bodyguards around him, but he could never protect the female lead. If anything happened, the female lead would always be the one who was injured.
What kind of overbearing CEO was this? The male lead was more like an idiot.
At that time, Daniel discussed the novel with Olivia. Daniel said that it was wrong for Olivia to judge the male lead like that. There would always be a limit to a personâs strength. Mistakes were inevitable.
Now that Daniel had become a domineering CEO, he realized that the CEO in the novel was indeed stupid.
Daniel did not care if there was a scheme or not. He did not care how the supporting actress framed the female lead. He did not need to distinguish or see through it. He only needed to stand behind Olivia immediately.
If Olivia encountered danger, Daniel would protect her immediately.
That was enough!
Didnât he work so hard to become so powerful so that he could protect Olivia?
After breakfast, Mr. Wilson invited Olivia to participate in the 13:04 teamâbuilding event as previously arranged.
Olivia was a little hesitant. This was a company event. She worried that it would be inappropriate for her to go over. Just as she was about to refuse, Olivia heard Mr. Wilson say, âMs. Taylor, you can be there for Mr. Andrew.â
Olivia nodded as soon as she heard that she was there for Andrew.
Andrew seemed to understand as well. She stood obediently beside Olivia. âOlivia, Iâll be good and stay by your side.â
When Mr. Wilson heard this, he first glanced at Daniel and then at Andrew. Mr. Wilson was amazed by Oliviaâs charm. She had both Andrew and his father under her spell.
Olivia was prepared to accompany Andrew. However, before they set off, Ethan and Emma came together.
Emmaâs gaze shifted between Daniel and Olivia. Emma smiled and said, âJust now, Ethan rented a boat. The weather is cool now, and itâs a good time to take in the lake view. I heard that there is some lotus in the east. Olivia, letâs go take a look together.â
Olivia was bending over to fix Andrewâs collar. When she heard Emmaâs words, Olivia looked up and said, âYou sent me a message previously saying that you have something to tell me. Tell me now.â
Emmaâs face turned red. She did not expect Olivia to be so blunt.
Sensing that Ethan and Daniel were looking at her, Emma pursed her lips. slightly and calmed down.
Emma asked, âI thought you didnât care? I called you just now and asked you out, but you didnât respond. I thought you didnât want to know.â
After saying that, Emma revealed an aggrieved expression, as if she did not understand why Olivia changed her mind.
Ethan asked curiously, âWhat did you want to talk about?â
Olivia glanced at Ethan and said calmly, âEmma was going to tell me why I got lost back then.â
Upon hearing this, Ethanâs expression changed. He turned to Emma in surprise. âHow did you know?â
Ethan was surprised. Emma was even younger than Olivia. How did Emma know that Olivia had gone missing? Emmaâs eyes suddenly turned cold, but she quickly calmed down. She looked at Ethan and said softly, âHow would I know? Olivia is joking. Canât 13:04 you tell?â
Joking? Ethan was a little confused. Just as he was about to turn around and ask Olivia, he heard Emma suddenly cheer, âLola, Ella, why are you here?â
Emma happily went forward and held the girlsâ hands. Then, Emma happily came to Olivia and introduced the girls, âThis is Lola and Ella, my good friends. Letâs go to the boat together later.â
Ethan had no objections to this. He only turned to ask Olivia.
Of course, Olivia did not want to spend time with the people she did not like. Since Olivia had already given up on Ethan, there was no need to waste any more time. Olivia was about to refuse.
The roundâfaced girl called Lola suddenly said in a fake and displeased tone, âOlivia, could it be that you donât welcome us? And you donât want to play with us?â
Lola seemed to be joking, but her words were aggressive. There was even a hint of mockery in her eyes as she stared at Olivia.
Before Olivia could speak, Emma held Lolaâs hand nervously and tried to smooth things over. âNo, no, how can that be? Olivia is the gentlest and most amiable person. How could she not welcome you?â
As she spoke, Emma turned to Olivia. âIsnât that right, Olivia?â
This was a common method used by Emmaâs girl group to force others to do things they were unwilling to do. Women of their status came from noble backgrounds. No matter how much they looked down on each other, and how many conflicts there were, the women were always amiable from the look of it.
It was what their fake friendship was like.
Having known each other for many years, they had a tacit understanding. When Lola received news from Emma that Emma wanted her and Elaine to help separate Olivia and Daniel, Lola had already thought of a way.
People like Daniel would not be willing to be with women like them.
As long as Olivia was firmly tied to them, Daniel would naturally have to separate from Olivia.
When she saw Oliviaâs refusal, Lola quickly said something and stopped Olivia from rejecting it.
13:04 If Olivia did not go to the boat with them, it meant that she didnât welcome them.
Lola and Elaine were also born into wealthy families. They were much more innocent than Olivia, who had been retrieved from outside. Lola didnât believe that Olivia would dare to offend them.
Oliviaâs attention was not on the few of them. When she heard Emmaâs question, Olivia was still a little confused. After a moment of silence, she looked up with a cold expression.
âWhy should I welcome you?â
Lolaâs expression changed. She had never been humiliated like this before. For a moment, she could not control her tone. âWhat do you mean?â
Olivia looked up and glanced at Lola indifferently.
Lola was stunned. She felt uneasy as if Olivia had seen through her from inside out. It was as if all of Lolaâs thoughts had been revealed.
Olivia ignored Lola. Instead, Olivia grabbed Ethan and asked, âDo you welcome them?â
Oliviaâs eyes were amber. When she looked at people quietly, there was a hint of coldness, like glass beads soaking in a cold lake.
Ethan was taken aback by the gaze. He replied blankly, âI donât.â
Hearing this, Lolaâs face instantly darkened, and her entire body stiffened.
His heart tightened and he felt a lump in his throat.
