Chapter 596 - Dowry...!!!

Old master Richard was fond of Kate since their marriage; he was

present, even though he was overly affectionate; he knew she was no

ordinary girl.

He felt respect toward this little girl who could tame a wild lion-like

David Xiver; she could be anything but an ordinary girl.

"Okay, as you wish, but don't forget this old man; as much as they are

children of the Xiver family, they are also god-great-grandchildren of

this old man, so keep coming anytime to trouble this old man."

The older man said with a sigh, what he could, if possible, he wanted to

keep the angles to himself.

But he knew that was not possible, so he let them go.

After dinner, Liam drove David and the others back home; since Adam

had just returned, David didn't want him to come along and spend time

with his parents and grandpa.

Adam knew, so he stayed back, but in his heart, he couldn't understand

it was not like David hadn't any other properties; why did he have to

return to the south mansion, since their enemies knew the place well?

What if they attacked again?

But he didn't know that David had already learned his lesson once

stumbling, and he knew what he needed to do to protect his family.

Even the enemies knew; they could only think, not get in again.

Not even dare to come near his south mansion.

Rose and Nina accompanied Daniel, David held Destiny since the little

girl was daddy spoiler, and Kate carried Devin, who was very calm in

his mother's arms, unlike his sister and brother.

Noah was sitting next to Kate, obediently holding Kate's left hand.

That boy has poles apart from others. As a result, he might not

understand the situation.

But he missed them. Now he has grown a little older. He is now four

years older but more sensible than his age.

Destiny was pulling her dad's nose and lashes, but David didn't even

stop her and let her play with his face as she wanted. Kate wanted to

laugh, but she could understand after getting daddy; the girl was very

energetic.

It seems she missed having daddy very much, and her son, who even

used to refuse her when she wanted to carry him, missed her more

than anyone.

Whoever says the son was a mother's heart, while the daughter was

father's cotton pad in winter.

David's hand was on Kate's waist, even holding his daughter; he didn't

forget to keep his wife close to him; the touch connection was like each

other's peace and happiness; if not for the children, he would have

carried her in his lap.

"Darling, are we going back home, will there be any problem?" Kate

asked; she knew she shouldn't ask this since she believed he would do

nothing without a plan.

"Wifey, believe your darling, our home is not the same as before

anymore, and no one would dare to come near it; there will be a

surprise for everyone," David said with a meaningful smile.

Kate was puzzled, like Nina and Rose; since the day David left and

they heard the news about his death, Nina and Rose never once went

to their home because grandpa Richard strictly told them not to go out,

especially outside the mansion.

So they didn't know what had changed in their home.

Kate nodded; if her husband told her to go east, she would never even

think about going west; her devotion was on another level for her

darling.

The Richard mansion was quite far away from the south mansion, so it

took 30 minutes even though there wasn't any traffic, the sun already

went to rest, and a moon was shining in the sky's corner.

The car entered the main gate; unlike other times, at least 20 black-

clothed and masked men were standing with weapons.

They were standing in their position, saluting, when they saw the car,

but they didn't move from their job.

Kate and the other two were shocked, even though they used to have

guards on their main gates.

It was on another level. She looked at David with a questionable gaze,

but David just smiled gently.

The car could go in front of the main door, but David told them to get

out of the car and walk on foot, and they stepped out excitedly.

David hugged Kate's waist and walked forward; Rose took Noah's hand

and walked behind with Nina and Daniel; they looked around,

David turned around, and soon a ripple appeared outside the gate, and

the mansion got separated from the outside world, but that was not all;

David looked at his men; they activated the system and threw

something into the sky.

The moment the system detected this, a brilliant light destroyed it

immediately.

"What was that?" Nina asked, looking at the sky.

“If someone wants to enter forcefully, the system will take it down.” He

didn't explain what was in that thing that his men had thrown up, but

they could guess that the system would attack only if something

dangerous appeared.

So David means by showing this, if anyone dared to come to attack

them from up, the system could destroy it immediately.

They were pretty shocked; oh my god, are they entering a war zone?

"Brother, don't tell me you turned your home into a battlefield; what is

this all about?" Rose was unlike Nina, who had never thought before

talking.

Liam also followed them, even though he knew some of David's

planning, but after seeing the arrangement, he was shocked. Rose was

right.

There wasn't any path where these black-masked men with their best-

looking German shepherd dogs, but when they saw David and the

others, even the dog bowed with them.

This was shocking because of their behavior; Liam couldn't help but

ask, "Bro, where did you get these dogs?"

"From Wild island.” David's simple reply shocked him.

This wild Island was bought by David a few years ago. David raised

wild animals on that Island and trained his secret guards there, even

though the government was not allowed to go near the Island.

"Bro, thank god you didn't bring your beasts here. Otherwise, you will

frighten us." As his words fell, he suddenly heard a beast growl which

he was expecting to hear at that moment.

"Wtf, what was that?" Rose cursed out.

“I shifted a few of them behind the mansion forest. They will guard the

mansion but not enter the front area until I order them.” David

explained gently. But he didn't name them in case it would frighten

them out of hell.

He felt Kate flinch in his arms, but she didn't show it on her face.

"Wifey, they will never harm our family because I'm their master, and I

will not act without my permission to tame them,” David whispered, but

all of them heard him.

Nina believed whatever her brother did, everything was for them, so

she didn't have any problem, she knew animals were more trustworthy

than humans, and her brother had control over them.

But Rose was different; she looked at her brother and said pitifully,

"Brother, everything is okay, but why do you need to keep them behind

the mansion? What if they suddenly break the rule and come to this

side?" Rose asked fearfully.

“You don't need to think about it anymore; someone will handle them

before they can reach here." He kept someone behind the mansion

large enough to control a few beasts like them.

"Let's go; it's getting a little windy here,” David whispered and led Kate

to the mansion; since they got out of the car in front of the main gate, at

least it took them a few minutes to get inside the mansion by foot.

Kate pressed her fingerprints, and David pushed open the door; the

light automatically lightened by the presence of humans.

Kate looked at their home; she couldn't help but cry out; she had

missed this feeling for the last months.

Everyone entered, and Kate walked around; this was her home with her

husband and children; this was her own home, where she created a

little heaven for herself with David.

Even though Oscar Astor kept her in a luxurious mansion, she never

felt she belonged in that place, even though they tried to make her

believe she would be caged in that forever.

Kate walked to the sofa and saw their baby's cradles were still beside

the couch; she put down sleeping Devin on the cradle and sat on the

sofa; she felt her heart was healed completely, and she finally got back

where she truly belonged.

Destiny also fell asleep in her father's arms; David put her down on her

bed and covered both Divine and Destiny with their little blankets.

Daniel had already slept on the plane, so he was not sleepy; instead,

he was energetic. Still, David put him to bed; Noah let go of Kate's

hand and leaned on the baby's side as he played with Daniel's little

hand.

Daniel tries to grab his finger, but Noah always pulls it away before

Daniel can catch them. Finally, Daniel screamed in frustration, but he

wasn't crying, just playing.

Liam and the others sat down on the couch; suddenly, Nina's phone

buzzed. Nina looked at the content inside the message, stood, and left

the living room.

David noticed the abnormality, but he decided not to go behind her.

Liam looked at David,

"Since you and my sister-in-law are back home, how about I send my

family to discuss our marriage?" The marriage was hanging on its head

because of David's despair and Daniel's kidnapping.

David raised his eyebrows. "Did you prepare the dowry?" But, he

asked, he would never hand his younger sister to anyone with no

security in her marriage, even if the groom was his brother and friend.

Liam laughed. "You sucked me dry and now demand another dowry?"

Liam laughed; he was teasing, not like he had prepared nothing.

Rose rolled her eyes "if you want to take me away, at least show some

sincerity." She would never go against her brother's wish; even the

opposite person was hers, soon to be a groom.

Liam pouted at her, but he didn't mind "since my bride wants to see

some sincerity, how about the Jones family's entire fortune?" He asked

seriously.

It startled Rose, even though she knew he was serious, but she was

joking; how she would dare to ask for the Jones family's entire fortune,

it was best he didn't say this in front of Mrs. Jones, otherwise what if

she thinks Rose was a gold digger?

"Do you want your clan to eat my sister alive?" David asked instead of

Rose, even though he was unsure about Liam's decision, but he knew

him rather well.

This man seemed to have done something like this for David; he had

earned everything with a single hand, so it was not hard for Kate to

accept what belonged to David, but this matter was different for Liam.

Even his parents wouldn't mind; his relatives always frown at his sister.

"Don't worry, I know my worth; I'll never point their finger at my wife

because everything I own belongs to her.” Liam put away their fear with

a single line, making Rose suspicious about his thoughts.

"That's better, brother Liam; our Rose is not spilled water; if she gets

hurt by your family, even a little, we will take her back." Although Kate

said this with a severe expression, Liam knew she was not joking; Kate

still held a grudge against his mother's behavior.

But Liam was happy, at least with David and Kate's backing; his family

would just shut their mouths when the time came.

"As you wish, just like my wife said, you know I'll not spare anyone if

they dared to say anything to upset my sister."

But David warned Liam, even though he knew this decision of Liam's

would cause another mess in Jones’ family, he was a selfish brother,

only wanting what was best for his sister.

"Then I'll send my family over on Sunday to fix the marriage date." He

had waited for enough; he didn't want to miss another month again.

He looked at Rose with a smirk; Rose blushed; she didn't look at him

anymore; she knew what he meant by that lustful look.
