“he made me wait for three years until I went to knock on your brother-

in-law's door, and he opened the door; when I saw behind the door, I

Kate indirectly made him understand that if there were no David, there

would not be such a day when they would meet each other again.

Kevin never expected Kate's heart to go through so much, yet people

only believed she was lucky; no, she was not fortunate; it was just that

she believed in god and walked to the path god had decided for her

with her hard work.

Kevin grabbed Kate's hand from his head and kissed her hand “sister,

you did right.” he said, making Kate happy.

“You suffered so much, Kevin; let go and let us protect you. All you

need to do now is to live your life in whatever way you want.”

Kate could guess her brother had a rough time, and he matured more

than his age; like her, he didn’t enjoy his childhood and only survived.

Kevin's eyes turned, and he felt a rooted tree covering his wounded

body, giving him the oxygen he needed.

“Okay, sister.” He nodded, he also wanted to live this life, and now he is

finally getting it from them.

Kate stroked his cheek and wiped the drop of tears that accidentally

came out. “I'll be with you every turn in your life; this time, I'll not let

anyone harm you,” Kate promised him.

Kevin felt a new leaf growth in his heart; his strong heart melted slowly.

“Okay.” He agreed because he believed his sister would do what she

said.

Like her brother, he also promised that even if he had to destroy the

world, he would protect her from all the danger lurking around her.

The dinner was simple yet so warm; since Kylie was sick, David only

cooked something light, so she could digest it quickly, while Kate

looked at her food like she was looking at the position.

She loves spicy food, but it's been so long since she last had

something too spicy because of breastfeeding.

David looked at his wife's helpless expression and wanted to say she

should stop breastfeeding the children so that she could eat anything,

but he knew she would refuse no matter what.

After Dinner, David arranged a guest room for others; since David knew

they would come, he had already prepared everything for them in

advance.

David went to bathe the children since they were already used to this

routine, Kevin followed his brother, and Kylie wanted to stay behind to

see her grandchildren. In the end, four people ended up surrounding

the children.

Kevin carefully watches how his brother-in-law does everything, while

Kylie is impressed by her son-in-law.

The children were already grown enough to misbehave; they moved

their bodies like swans in the water. David's t-shirt was already wet, but

they just smiled and let them enjoy the process.

While her daughter, who stood aside and chewed on her fruits, looked

so useless compared to her son-in-law, she even felt embarrassed

instead of her.

“Kate, shouldn't you help David wash the children?” She asked when

she saw Kate was not even looking at the children and relaxed

comfortably.

“Mom, ask your son-in-law or your grandchildren, who act like I can't

handle them.”

Kate pouted; she felt wronged; her husband never let her handle

anything because he said she would get sick and tired; she was more

afraid their months-old babies would give her trouble.

While her children only want their dad to have some issues, like baths,

carrying them in his embrace, feeding them, changing their diapers,

and spending sleepless nights with them when they are not in the mood

to sleep.

“Mom, No need; she will catch a cold.” David was more worried about

Kate's health than his mischievous children.

Kylie was speechless, her son-in-law spoiled her daughter rotten, but

as a mother, she was happier than she complained.

After the bath, David applied moisturizer on their bodies, put on their

clothes like a professional, and fed them, and in no time, they fell

asleep.

Kylie felt like David's mother-in-law was the best mother-in-law in the

world.

She couldn't help but say in a sour tone to someone with a hint, “see

my son-in-law, how he is raising our three angels without any trouble,

unlike someone who saw stars in the daytime when he just raised one

princess.”

Nate felt self-attack when he heard Kylie's words.

She clearly said it for him to hear; he rolled his eyes at his son-in-law;

damn, as his father-in-law, he couldn't even find a flaw in this man so

that he should taunt him, but damn, he couldn't find anything at all.

Kate suddenly burst into laughter and almost fell from the couch, only

to be held by David. David looked at her with an upset gaze “can’t you

be a little careful?” but after asking this, saying it to her, it was like

banging his head on a dead tree.

“Darling, my dad might curse you in his head because of you. My mom

pointed out his flaw; see his expression.”

Kate pointed it by, and Nate almost vomited blood after being caught

red-handed by his daughter. The daughter was supposed to be a cotton

pad in winter; why was his cotton pad warming someone else's heart?

He was beyond sad.

David looked at his father-in-law and suddenly said something that

excited Nate.

“Who said that? My father-in-law is the best father,” David said with a

smile.

Nate laughed proudly, but his son crushed his excitement “don’t

outsmart yourself thinking your brother-in-law praised you.

He is saying this because his wife is your daughter. Otherwise, you will

be embarrassed if my mom exposes your failure.” Kevin broke his

father’s heart into pieces with his cruel words.

Nate looked at his son in disbelief because he still couldn't believe his

son had stabbed him. Right now, he wanted to skin his son alive, but

what could he do? After all, this boy was his son, so he took a deep

breath and only glared at Kevin in anger.

Kevin shrugged his shoulders playfully as if he was saying what he said

was true.

Kate laughed while holding her stomach, “Dad, finally, someone beat

you with your words.” Although, she said playfully, when Nate heard it,

he almost puked three liters of blood.

“Princess, you also are no less than this brat.” He couldn't bring himself

to scold his princess like his brat son; Kate made a face and laughed

playfully.

David looked at her face and felt her happiness; even though he gave

her a world, somehow, her world was incomplete without her childhood,

but now finally, he succeeded in giving her a world as a whole.

Kylie enjoyed every moment because it was so precious that she didn't

want to sleep anymore.

“I couldn't accept it yet; I feel like Kate was this little a while ago, and

now suddenly, she is already a big girl.” Kylie still felt everything was so

unreal and felt once she woke up, she would return to that cold and

painful moment.

“Mom, It's not a dream. We already passed through the storm and are

now finally here,” Kate said when she saw her mom's insecurity in her

eyes.

“Yeah, we passed through these moments,” Kylie murmured.

David patted Kate's back to show how much he could feel her changing

emotions.

Everyone chatted. Kate was already exhausted. Between conversions,

she closed her eyes and drowned in sleep. Finally, David grabbed her

by the waist and carried her in his arms. “Dad, mom, good night.” He

stood up and said to Kylie and Nate.

Nate and Kylie bid goodbye and went to their bedroom, with only Kevin

left. Again, he stared at the empty stairs. But, unlike other days, he

didn't feel empty anymore. Now he has a family; he used to come

home, stare at the open house and feel lonely.

But now he knows his family is sleeping in their bedroom in peace, and

nothing could break this peace; he would let no one touch the line of

his family’s happiness.

Back to Kate and David's bedroom,

David put her to bed and went to the bathroom, where he washed up;

when he came back, he saw Kate sitting on the bed searching for

something.

“Why did you wake up?” He sounded from behind her; Kate turned her

head and looked at him with an upset gaze.

“Where were you?" She asked him as if he had gone too far away from

her. David put the towel back on the towel hanger and went to bed. He

saw his wife looking at him with teary eyes.

He pulled her in his arms; Kate resisted because she was angry; David

was used to her angry mood when she woke up from her sleep, so he

carried her forcefully and put her in his embrace.

He hugged her tightly and kissed her hair. “What happened? What

makes my wife so upset?” He kept coaxing her in a soothing tone.

Kate felt awakened by his pleasant voice. “I woke you, and you were

not beside me.” She complained in a low voice.

David laughed at her words, “I went to the bathroom; I thought you

would not wake up so soon.” He explained his words patiently, as if he

was coaxing a little bunny with his sweetness.

Kate snorted, but she said nothing. When David felt her silence, he

raised her head from his chest and kissed her lips. “I'm here now, don’t

be afraid.” He knew she might see something terrible in her sleep.

Kate bit him in punishment and shook her head. She wanted to hug him

to sleep since she was used to it, but when she turned, he was not

there. Finally, she jerked in her sleep and woke up; her heart almost

burst into fear.

David raised her body like a doll and leaned on the headboard; he put

her legs on both sides of his body and let her sit on his stomach.

“Wifey, we have a score to settle now.” David suddenly changed his

voice, and his tone softened, but Kate felt seducing aura from his style.

She curled her finger and poked at his chest “darling, what score do we

have to settle?” she used the same tone he used.

His adam apple jumped when he saw her gaze on him; he grabbed her

by the waist and pulled her closer.

“Wifey, it's not so good for you to seduce me all the time.” He grabbed

her head and leaned her head toward him.

Kate smirked slyly and rolled her eyes; before she could voice out what

she wanted, David sealed her lips and kissed her as if it were the end

of the world. Kate felt intense passion from his kiss, and her body

shivered from his touch.

David kept his hands roaming her body and touched her where she felt

most sensitive; David flipped their position, tore off her nightdress, and

peeled them from her body in no time.
