(Devil's Marriage Trap) Chapter 49 -

“Brother, it's not time for you to show you crawl in front of that damn

bastard; now you're not alone anymore. Don't forget now you have

Noah to protect; I'm sure you remember what he promised to David

Xiver if you fail to protect Noah,

He will not care even if that bastard has our mother on his hand or not

and kills him, brother. You know as much as he needs us, we need him

otherwise our mother ...."

Mike was not an emotional person for anyone but for his mother and

brother. His emotions flowed out of his mouth.

They have all borne everything for one person till now. If his brother

wants to drown their hope near the shore, how could he bear to see

this happen? But he didn’t know why his brother suddenly changed

everything.

Only time will tell; Whatever his brother did for someone, he fell for

unconditionally, which was even more significant than any bond he had

on this earth.

“Mike, if you don’t want me to throw you out of my house, don’t come

here to poke your nose; I know what I must do.” Ace looked at Mike

coldly as he said.

“Bro, I think you should take the first step; otherwise, that damn old

man won't stop until he gets what he wants since we already did what

we needed to do.

“Don't get started here.” Ace didn’t want to listen to their nonsense, so

he was about to leave the office when Adam burst in furiously, following

Aiden behind him.

Adam looked like a wounded tiger as he looked at Ace's face; he

couldn't hold himself anymore and threw punches at Ace, who had

never lowered his guard even against the air but easily dodged it.

Adam got even more furious when he saw he couldn't hit Ace's face;

before he could attack again, Mike grabbed him from behind and

dragged him away from Ace.

“Oh ho, what are you doing? Mr Richard.” Mike could never bear

anything that would hurt his brother; he hates it very much when

someone wants to hurt Ace.

But Adam was never afraid of these Welsh brothers because he knew

what he did right now was right; if David had been on his spot, he

would long strangle the man before him.

“How dare you touch her? Do you want to die? bast*rd.” The fury in his

eyes came out with his words as if he couldn't bear Ace Welsh's

presence.

“Adam, just shut up.” Aiden stopped him before Adam could spill out the

dark truth in front of so many people because Nina wouldn't like

someone to look at her with pity, which she hated since she was little.

Three years ago, Nina changed. She used to seek attention and love

from everyone, and she loved and trusted people quickly, but it

changed since that day; she now caged herself in herself.

She hates when someone pities her; she would hate it even more if the

person who gave her the pain showed sympathy toward her because

she was now miserable.

Ace looked at them with a confused but sharp glare. He could sense

Aiden was trying to stop Adam from spilling something he shouldn't

because it might cause something immediately.

“Adam Richards, don't always shake your tail before me. I'm not a very

patient person. If you want to say something, speak. Don't act like a

hooligan before me; I'm not patient. I might answer you the same way

you want, and David Xiver is not here to protect your tail. You might be

his brother, not mine, so don't act recklessly.”

Ace wouldn't even bear his brother's tantrum, let alone a man who had

no relationship with him.

The moment Ace spoke, everyone around him felt his overwhelming

aura since they hadn't seen this man get angry yet. This was the first

time since they came here Ace talked in this tone; even Adam felt

flustered by his tone.

“Mr. Welsh, I don’t think you should blame him for this situation; he is

just a little over-possessed about Nina since she is our sister, and

because of you, she is not okay. I don’t blame you for anything.

Everything happens for a reason, but don't forcefully overstep Nina's

boundary. She had suffered more than you can imagine, so please

respect her.” Aiden looked at Ace as if he were saying so much to hint

at something, and he knew Ace Welsh was not a fool.

He would know he had hidden meaning behind his words. He didn’t

want to reveal anything to them, but he wanted to see if Ace Welsh was

capable and cared enough about Nina to find everything; only then

would he know if this person was the right one to heal Nina's hidden

wound.

Aiden dragged Adam and walked away.

Ace’s face turned dark as he heard Aiden very clearly, but Aiden’s

words left him in a daze; the words were clear, but the meaning behind

his words was hidden; darkness was in his light. He knew earlier he

had overstepped her boundary.

But what happened to her to make Adam Richard's act like this? He

knew this boy always made everyone lose patience, but he wouldn't act

like this without reason.

“Brother, do you want me to return Adam Richard to S country?” Mike

knew Adam always got on his brother's nerves.

“No need.” Ace didn’t want to mess with David Xiver since he made

both of them accompany Noah, which means he trusted them enough

with Noah's life; right now, their priority should be Noah's treatment, not

anything else. Also, he felt something was off with Nina Xiver, but he

felt this was not only for him.

Whenever they were in public, the girl would always cage herself in a

shell and show that no one existed around her. He noticed it, but he

ignored it because it was not something he should involve himself with;

she was no one to him other than his son's mother.

But today, something changed inside him, and he wanted to know more

about this girl; when he first met her, she was different than her current

self; he thought she had grown up after so much, but it seemed this

was related to something else.

“Theo, come inside, and you, Mike, go back and do what I asked you.”

Ace looked at Mike. Instead of answering him, he pulled Theo inside

and shut the study room door on Mike's face; Mike pouted, his brother

always treats him like an extra.

Inside the study,

“I want you to find out more about Nina Xiver.” Ace looked at Theo with

a severe gaze.

Theo looked at Ace with an even more severe gaze. “What do you want

me to find out?”

“How she was all these years since that night.” Ace’s words surprised

Theo.

“What do you mean?” Theo looked surprised; he didn’t notice anything

unusual about the girl.

“I touched her today, and she showed an unusual reaction as if my

touch burned her; I thought she was shy, but it seemed something else

was going on; you heard Dr. Aiden right now; he is not revealing

anything, but he hinted something as if he threw a puzzle at him.

He had a gut feeling about this and knew he could never be wrong.

Theo fell momentarily silent upon hearing Ace's words. He also noticed

Nina's reaction earlier; he thought she was shy toward the strangers,

but it seemed something was wrong. Otherwise, Ace wouldn't think so.

“Okay, let me go through everything; I'll let you know in seven days.”

They also agreed.

“3 days, you need to find it in 3 days,” Ace said.

“WTF, man, three days. Do you want me to dig out three years' records

in 3 days? Are you out of your mind? Even though I have a smart mind,

don't mean I can spin my brain out and find out anything I want,

especially since the girl is David Xiver’s sister; I'm sure he hides

everything from the world. I need time.” Theo cursed inwardly but still

said to the man in front who acted like he had god's power.

“If you don’t want me to take back your lab, do as I said, put everything

else in Pause, and focus on this matter.” Ace didn't give him a chance

to speak because everything else could go to hell when it came to his

lab.

Theo gritted his teeth. “You can just ask Mike to find out about it; why

are you involving me?" he had more important things to do.

“Mike is not suitable for this matter; just do what I asked you; if

possible, try to talk to her to find out more. I think something is going

on.” Ace looked puzzled and deep in thought.

“Okay, I am doing it, but on one condition: I need the special medical kit

from next month’s auction.” Damn, everything related to his lab had his

heart, but these things damn cost him his kidneys, so if possible, he

wanted to dig out someone else’s kidney.

Ace looked at the greedy man in front of him. He knew if he gave him

what he wanted, he would even go underground to find out what he

wanted.

“Sure thing! We're in business, buddy, but unearth the truth, not just

pick it up," Ace chuckled. He was game for getting his hands on

whatever he fancied, even if it meant splashing some sea-sized cash.

Theo looked excited, damn if he had known Ace would agree to it, he

wouldn't be so depressed for days, he thought these were too

expensive, even though he was a young master, but damn, he was

money since he put his money on this research and damn his father

blocked his cards since he decided to continue this research instead of

join their hospital.

“Deal, I will be a secret detective for three days. Don’t worry, I won't

disappoint you.” Theo left dancing with his happy tail.

Ace looked at the blank wall and fell into deep thought. “Nina Xiver,

what is there that I don't know about you.”

Inside Nina's room,

Adam looked at Nina, who lay on the bed with her hands tightly tied

together; it was Aiden who tied her hands since she couldn't stop

rubbing her skin; she almost peeled her skin; it felt like if she rubbed a

little more, blood would come out.

“Why did you stop me earlier? Don't you see what he had done?” Adam

couldn't stop himself from getting furious; Nina hadn't reacted like this

since Noah turned 2; they thought she had almost recovered.

But today, this came back; earlier, when Adam and Aiden returned, they

noticed Nina was still in the washroom. In the end, they had to enter the

bathroom forcefully and saw Nina keep rubbing her skin to wash off the

place where Ace Welsh touched her.

She lost her mind and kept murmuring she was dirty as if these old

memories became fresh into her mind, when Aiden tried to stop her,

she became violent and in the end, Aiden had to put her in sleep with

medicine forcefully.

To stop her from harming herself, they used the same method: they

tightly tied her hand to her clothes and put her on the bed.

“Nina won't like it if you reveal her condition in front of them; they are

like a stranger to her, and in Nina's mind, Ace Welsh is someone who

violated her even though she couldn't remember,

her mind still remembered these men, and now another person has

been added to that list, Ace Welsh, as much as she hates any man, she

hates his touch also, we don't know what happened, but Ace Welsh

doesn't know about Nina, and we better keep it from everyone.”
