Chapter 29 - True love will never fade

Hurricane

Rose's POV

"I didn't write anything like that. What was her name?" He asked as he grabbed my arms. "Let me guess it was Sienna. Am I right?" He added in a sardonic tone.

I gritted my teeth angrily and mocked, trying to hide sadness in my voice. "Now you admit."

"No, I don't admit anything because I didn't lie to you. She is my sister. You met her too. More correctly, almost met because you were busy being angry at me then. The pregnant woman beside Romeo. She is Sienna, and she is married to Romeo." He explained, looking into my eyes.

"Don't lie to me, Troy. No brother sends those kinds of messages to his sister nor calls them their Juliet." I commented, giving him a disgusting look.

"Yes, you are right, but I told you she was my sister. I didn't tell you I wrote those messages." He pleaded and breathed deeply. "It is complicated, but Romeo had to contact her using my phone because our parents didn't let them be in touch till they graduated." He paused, sighing, and explained to me what happened.

"What? I...." I mumbled, stunned. "Everything ended because of a misunderstanding?..." I added, my voice barely audible as my eyes welled up. "I lost you because of it." I muttered sadly as I couldn't hold my tears anymore.

"And I lost the love of my life and my son's four years. Your pregnancy, his first heartbeats, his birth, his first words, his first steps." He commented, full of sadness in his voice.

"Troy... I am sorry." I mumbled, crying. "If I talked to you before accusing you..." I couldn't finish my sentence and wiped the tears off my cheeks.

"Shh, calm down." Troy said softly while tears shimmered in his eyes, and pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me tightly.

"I destroyed everything because of a misunderstanding." I sobbed, gripping his shirt tightly.

"Yes, we lost five years, but we have a lot of years ahead of us which we will spend together, my Rose. I will not let you go again, nor let my son grow up away from me." He promised, hugging me tightly in his arms, and placed several kisses on my hair.

"Troy, you are getting married to my sister." I pulled back, wiping my tears off my cheeks. "There can't be anything between us." I added sadly while my heart broke into pieces, and I averted my gaze, wrapping my arms around myself.

"I can't marry Kate. I finally found you, and now I know you loved me." He shook his head confidently. "You didn't run because you didn't love me, and I hope you still love me. Tell me do you still love me?" He asked as he placed his finger under my chin, lifting it up, letting our eyes meet, and looked at me hopefully while waiting for my answer.

I bit my lower lip, avoiding his gaze. "Troy, please... It isn't important anymore." I mumbled, pulling my head away, trying to hold my stubborn tears.

"Please, Rose. Answer me." He pleaded while tears ran down his cheeks. "Do you love me?" He asked, cupping my cheeks, letting our eyes meet.

I nodded, crying. "Yes."

He smiled happily while tears were running down his cheeks. "I love you so much, my Rose." He placed a tender kiss on my lips and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back, closing my eyes, and breathed his masculine scent.

Oh, how much I missed him.

Pull yourself together, Rose. You can't do it. You can't do it to your sister or family.

"I will not let you go anymore. I promise you, my love. We will spend the rest of our lives together." He promised while still holding me tightly in his arms.

"Troy, I cannot." I muttered as I pulled back. He gave me a stunned look. "It will destroy Kate. I cannot do it to her."

"But us? What will happen to us?" He snapped angrily, full of pain in his voice. "Rose, I cannot lose you again. My life without you is empty. You are my life." He shook his head and gave me a begging look.

"No, Troy. It is too late." I said, crying, and rushed away without letting him say anything while tears were running down my cheeks.

Troy's POV

I was staring through the window, sipping my coffee while lost in my thoughts, my hand resting in my pocket. My head was pounding. I couldn't sleep properly last night. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about my conversation with Rose. I didn't know how to convince her, but I was sure of one thing that I would never let her go again. I would not give up on my family.

I sighed, walking towards my desk. I placed the cup on the desk and grabbed my phone and keys. I decided to visit Alec and Rose; I missed them terribly. On the other hand, Kate was abroad; so it gave me an opportunity to talk to Rose about when we would talk to Alec.

After ordering my assistant to cancel my meeting, I left the company.

The maid greeted me as she opened the door. After greeting her, I asked where Rose and Alec were. She informed me that Alec was in the garden while Rose went to the fashion house. Meanwhile, Camila wasn't home either. Then I went to the garden to see Alec.

I gave him a bright smile as I saw him playing with his car in the garden. He gave me a dirty look and averted his gaze as he continued playing with his car. I looked at him, puzzled and approached him.

"Hey. How are you, buddy?" I asked softly as I bent down beside him. He didn't say anything, avoiding me. "What happened? Are you angry at me? Why?" I asked, confused as I placed my hand on his back.

"You are a bad person. You made Mommy cry." He replied angrily as he looked at me.

My eyes widened in shock. "Umm... Mommy cried?" I mumbled, worried.

"Yes, I saw her crying in her bedroom last night." He stated firmly and folded his arms over his chest.

"But why do you think it was because of me?" I asked, looking at him, and I couldn't hold myself and smiled at his attitude in amusement, but I was still worried about Rose.

"Because she was looking at a photo while crying. This morning, I found the photo in her drawer and looked at it; I saw her putting it there yesterday. It was your photo, but you were young, and you didn't wear a suit nor have a beard." He scowled.

I pursed my lips together, trying to hold my smile. I cleared my throat and looked at him with a serious expression. "I am sorry, buddy. I will talk to her about it. Probably, it is a misunderstanding. I would never do anything to hurt your mommy." I said honestly, looking into his eyes.

"Really?" He asked, giving me a questioning look.

"Yes." I nodded and gave him a warm smile.

"Do you love Mommy?" He asked innocently, catching me off guard.

I bit my lower lip, running my hand through my hair while Alec was staring at me, waiting for my answer patiently.

"Yes. I love her." I admitted honestly.

He grinned happily. "Fine. Then I love you again."

I chuckled. "Come here, little imp. I love you too." I said, amused as I pulled him into my chest, ruffling his hair playfully, and placed a tender kiss on my little boy's cheek.

I was watching my son while sipping my coffee. Meanwhile, he was playing with his toys in the garden. Suddenly, I saw Rose coming towards us. She looked stunning in her navy blue wrap dress.

"Mommy!" Alec shouted in excitement as he ran towards her.

She smiled at him as she bent down and took him in her arms, kissing his cheeks. I looked at them as happiness filled my heart.

I stood up as she approached me, carrying Alec in her arms.

"Hey." I gave her a wide smile. She greeted me with a nod.

"Mom, won't you greet Troy with a kiss too?" Alec asked innocently.

I pursed my lips together, trying to hold myself from laughing while Rose was looking at our son in surprise as her cheeks blushed.

"Umm..." She cleared her throat and bit her lower lip nervously. I grinned, amused. "Honey, your hands are dirty. Wash them; we are having lunch." She changed the subjects and set Alec on his feet. He nodded and ran towards the house.

"Alec told me you cried last night while looking at my photo." I stated, looking into her eyes.
