Chapter 49 - The shadow
Hurricane
Troy's POV
"Sir!" I heard Daniel's voice behind me, but I ignored him and punched the bastard again.
"Stay away from Rose! If I see you near her, I will kill you." I warned him. "Stay away from my loved ones!"
"Sir, please. Calm down." Daniel said, trying to pull me away. "There could be paparazzi here, or someone could call the police." He added firmly.
"Daniel..."
When I turned my gaze from the bastard to Daniel, Adam caught me off guard and punched me.
"Fuck!" I exclaimed in irritation as he managed to escape from my grip.
When I wanted to run after him, Daniel stopped me, grabbing my arm.
"Mr. Anderson, please. Let me handle the situation." He said quietly after ordering the bodyguards to follow the bastard.
I cursed under my breath, running ran my hand through my hair angrily, and kicked the wall.
"Sir, please. We have to leave." He stated, looking around. I nodded, sighing, and walked towards my car.
Rose's POV
I was staring at my engagement ring without stopping myself from smiling in my office. As much as I tried to work, my eyes always landed on my diamond ring.
Troy proposed to me in London three weeks ago. Actually when he told me he planned a trip for us, I thought he wanted to stay away from New York for a while and spend time with me alone. On the other hand, the securities hadn't still found Adam; so he was worried about my safety. However, there was something else in his mind. The second day of our trip, we went for a stroll near the Thames; but when we arrived there, a Sunseeker speedboat was waiting for us.
When we were on the Sunseeker, he confessed that he saw me for the first time near the Thames, not at the nightclub. He told me that he was mesmerized by me and couldn't get me out of his mind. Troy admitted that he was so upset that I had disappeared before he could approach me, and when he bumped into me at the nightclub again, he was so happy to see me, but he hadn't courage to approach me. However, with Romeo's involvement, we got to know each other.
After his confession, he got on his one knee and pulled a red velvet box out of his pocket, catching me off guard. It was one of the best moments in my life. I felt so happy. I accepted his proposal with teary eyes as I felt so emotional while happiness filled my heart.
I pursed my lips together, trying to hold my sheepish smile, and looked at my wristwatch. Troy and Alec must be here in a few minutes. We were going to have a picnic in the park.
I closed the file in front of me and stood up to get a cup of coffee before they arrived. Suddenly, my head spun. I rested my hand on the desk for support and sat down on my chair. I was exhaling and inhaling slowly. I took a sip from my water as I felt slightly better. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door; the door opened after I had given permission.
"Mommy!" Alec exclaimed happily as he rushed towards me.
I gave him a wide smile after greeting them and stood up carefully. Fortunately, my dizziness passed. I bent down and hugged my son, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. Then I hugged Troy and planted a chaste kiss on his lips.
"Are you okay? You look pale." He asked, worried as I pulled back.
"Yes, I am. Just a little tired." I didn't want to worry him; he had already a lot of things in his mind.
"You shouldn't tire yourself so much." He gave me an affectionate look. "If you finished, let's go." He suggested and kissed my forehead, stroking my cheek tenderly. I nodded and grabbed my bag. Then we left my office.
I was leaning against Troy's chest while his arms were around my waist, watching our son who was playing with his ball.
"Today, Alec reminded me about his request." Troy whispered in my ear and brushed his lips against my neck, sending shivers down my spin.
"What request?" I asked, puzzled and looked at him, still in his arms.
"A little sister." He replied, amused. "As he said he needs a little sister as soon as possible." He added, chuckling.
"Oh.." I mumbled and bit my lower lip shyly as I felt my cheeks heated uncontrollably.
"What do you think?" He asked as he pulled my earlobe between his teeth slightly, tightening his grip around me.
"I... I don't know." I muttered nervously while he was brushing his lips against my neck without kissing it.
"I think it is a good idea. I would like to have a little princess like her mother." He confessed as he rested his hand on my belly.
"Really?" I asked in surprise. "You want another child?"
"Yes. And if you don't mind, I would like to start working on this plan as soon as possible." He replied seductively as he cupped my chin, pulling me towards him, and brushed his lips against mine in a tender kiss.
"Fine." I accepted shyly and gave him a wide smile. He grinned and kissed my lips again.
"Rose!" Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice calling me from behind.
Troy and I turned around and saw Kate looking at us furiously. We instantly stood up, and I checked Alec; fortunately, he was busy with playing with his ball away from us.
"How could you?! How could you steal him from me?! You shameless slut!" She barked, getting everyone's attention to us.
"Kate, watch your language!" Troy warned her, looking at her angrily. "No one stole me from you. How many times do I need to explain it to you?! Don't you understand that I love Rose?!" He added, irritated.
"Mommy?" Alec ran towards me, full of fear in his eyes.
"It is fine, honey." I reassured him softly as I took him in my arms.
"You can't! You can't love her! It is me who you love. You are just confused. This bitch manipulated you." Kate pleaded.
Troy exhaled loudly and shook his head.
"Kate, I will not repeat it again. Leave us alone!" Troy stated firmly, full of anger in his voice.
"Never! But don't worry, my love. I will save you from her. Then we will be together. I will make you so happy. I promise." She grinned widely as she nodded and pulled a gun out of her bag.
"Rose!" Troy exclaimed as he pushed me behind him, shielding Alec and me.
"Troy! Move! I will kill her!" Kate ordered, frustrated.
Alec gripped my dress, pressing his head against me, shivering in fear. I grabbed Troy's arm as fear throbbed inside me.
"Pull it down, Kate!" Troy ordered in a bossy tone.
"Never!" Kate refused and turned the safety off. "Then you will die with them."
"Troy!" I exclaimed in fear as she shot him.
Alec gripped my dress tightly as he started crying while shaking.
"Troy..." I mumbled in shock as I saw him collapsing.
I looked at Kate in a blur while my legs were shaking. She was looking at Troy, crying while Daniel and two men ran towards her and grabbed her arms after taking the gun from her.
"Troy... Oh my..." I mumbled as tears ran down my cheeks.
I bent down, holding my son in my arms tightly and cupped Troy's pale cheek while my body was shaking non-stop. He was gritting his teeth in pain while pressing his hand against his chest.
"Help!" I screamed in panic while tears were running down my cheeks.
Daniel rushed towards us while calling someone on the phone.
"Troy, please.... Don't leave me!" I begged as I placed my hand on top of his hand and kissed his temple.
"Rose...Don't cry..." He muttered slowly and groaned in pain.
"Ms. Allen, please. Let me!" Daniel said as he grabbed my arms, pulling me away as three other men approached us and checked Troy.
"Is... he alive?" I asked in fear and panic without taking my eyes off my fiancé. "Troy!" I screamed as his eyes closed. "No, please!" I begged, crawling towards him, and grabbed his hand.
"Miss, please. We have to take him to the hospital." Daniel said firmly as he helped me to get up after taking Alec in his arm. Meanwhile, my son was crying, opening his arms towards me, asking me to take him in my arms while I stared at him in daze.
Daniel wrapped his arm around me, pulling me towards the car with him. Meanwhile, the other men carried Troy towards the car quickly.
I got in the car with Daniel's help as I couldn't pull myself together. Then he placed Alec beside me on the backside seat. My son instantly sat on my lap, wrapping his arms around my neck, sobbing. I hugged him back tightly while watching the car in front of us where Troy was.
As soon as Daniel closed the door for me, he got in the car and followed the car in front of us, driving to the hospital.
