Chapter 153
The Heiress Strikes Back
153 I Believe You
Just as she was hesitating about whether to enter, Sharonâs phone rang. It was a message from Wallace: âThe matter is known. If youâre outside, donât go home today.â
Seeing this message, Sharon heaved a sigh of relief and turned to walk out of the door.
Just as she got into the taxi, Wallaceâs message came again. âI believe you. Iâve already sent people to investigate and clarify.â
A warm current flowed through Sharonâs heart as she followed the small path and walked toward Uncle Smithâs ward.
She didnât expect to see two security guards the moment she entered through the back door.
âMiss Sharon, please be careful.â One of them stood up and greeted her politely.
âYou all know me now...â Sharon smiled in embarrassment. âWhy are there people guarding the back door?â
âMiss Sharon, you have no idea that an outlaw has come to make trouble today. We received word that we were to strengthen the security. We hope that the man can be caught as soon as possible, or who knows what he might be doing in the hospital.â
âThen, I hope you catch him soon. Otherwise, it will be hard.â
As the rumors said, Sharon didnât put on any airs and even helped those two children.
Sharon walked forward. Her mind was a mess as she thought about the public election and what Crystal wanted to do.
When she reached the floor Uncle Smith was on, Sharon sharply noticed that Johnson was standing at the end of the corridor.
He was struggling to climb up to the window sill. His small body was wearing a hospital gown, which wrapped around him.
She walked over and naturally bent down to roll up the sleeves of his shirt and pants. Realizing that the brat was barefooted, she quickly picked him up.
At first, Johnson was still bending his body in conflict. When he realized that it was Sharon, he relaxed and wrapped his arms around her neck to continue looking at the traffic outside the window.
âJohnson, come back to your room with me. You need to rest.â
Hearing Sharonâs words, Johnson turned around and leaned his little body on Sharon, making her ecstatic.
âJohnson, have you finished reading the book that Sister asked someone to prepare for you?â Johnson seemed to nod and rubbed against Sharon.
âThen, Iâll get someone to bring you a new book tomorrow.â For the sake of Robson and Johnson, Lydia had to make a trip here.
Johnson couldnât help but rub against her again. He even reached out to touch Sharonâs face.
Robson was sleeping soundly in the room.
Sharon quickly took out her phone and dialed that number again. Although she knew that it was likely to get a busy tone, she still dialed it once when she was free.
Unexpectedly, it actually connected this time. The beeping sound from the other end of the phone made Sharonâs heart race. It seems that Robson and Johnson are no longer children that nobody wants.
âHuh?â The person who answered the call spoke in a very low voice. It was as if he were in a very empty place, and his tone was filled with an ethereal silence.
Sharon was at a loss, but she took a few deep breaths and clenched her fists to force herself to calm down. Then, she asked, âMay I know if you know Robson and Johnson?ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âWhere are they?â The voice on the other end of the call suddenly became nervous. âCan you broadcast my phone number? Are they with you?â
âUh, itâs like this! Johnson is suffering from a very serious illness. At New Yorkâs First Hospital, I met two people because Robson was bullied today. Please come to the hospital to take care of them!â
âGot it. Iâll be there soon.â
Finally, I have contacted their father. Sharon heaved a sigh of relief and didnât ask about the treatment fees. It seems that their family is quite good. This way, Johnsonâs illness should be treated effectively.
Seeing Johnson look out of the window quietly, Sharon heaved a sigh of relief. I will go and see Uncle Smith first. When their father arrives, he will contact me.
After confirming Uncle Smithâs situation, Sharon had just sat down when her phone rang. It was a very familiar male voice. âWhere are my kids?â
âRoom 607 on the sixth floor.â
âWhere in the hospital would there be little foot traffic?â
Eh? Why would this father ask such a strange question? Sharon thought for a moment before saying, âThe door to the mortuary is connected to the underground parking lot. Thereâs a side door that very few people go to.â
She didnât know about it at first until she walked into the wrong room once. The mortuary was really cold.
âBring the two children over. Iâll be right there.â The manâs tone was very domineering. It could even be said that he was high up in the air and bossed Sharon around.
âWhat are you doing? Johnsonâs body...â
âIt has nothing to do with you.â The other party didnât listen to her and hung up.
Sharon stood there in a daze. How could there be such a parent? Iâve already said that Johnson was sick, but he still doesnât care.
She walked to 607 and helped Johnson change his clothes. Sharon felt the latterâs gaze on her.
She picked up the two children and said casually, âYour father is here to pick you up.â
Sharon then frowned slightly. This little guy, Robson, is too unguarded. He didnât even know that he was carried away in his sleep.
