Chapter 59
The Heiress Strikes Back
59 An Old Friend of the Queen Family
On the way home, Sharon could feel Juneâs gaze on her from time to time. She really couldnât stand the awkward atmosphere and directly said, âMom, just say what you want to say.â
âHaha, I... this... What would I have to say!?â June laughed dryly and then looked at her daughter-in-law. Then, she couldnât help but say, âSharon, obediently tell Mom how you know someone like Quayle. Are you very familiar with him?â
Feeling Juneâs fervent gaze and caring tone, Sharon couldnât help but sneer in her heart. I really didnât expect June to speak to me so gently and calmly for the first time under such circumstances.
âOf course, I donât know him; itâs just that I called a university classmate. This classmateâs family is well-known in both the underworld and the world in the light. He just has some power.â Sharon lied without blushing or skipping a beat. Now wasnât the time to let June know her true identity.
Upon hearing this, June sighed with emotion in her heart. I knew that a piece of trash had no ability. Sharon had found someone else to solve this matter!
âForget it. If I had known that you didnât have much ability, I wouldâve relied on you to get people to do things for me. But at least I made some money today; it can be considered that you contributed a little to this family.â The warmth and gentleness in Juneâs tone instantly decreased, and she turned her head away impatiently.
Sharon smiled. I indeed canât have any hope for someone as snobbish as June.
Sharonâs voice carried a warning. âYes, we should inform our family about this to prevent anything from happening in the future. Itâs good that we can do it in time...â
Upon hearing this, Juneâs heart skipped a beat. Then, she quickly said, âHasnât it been resolved?! Donât let our family know about what happened today; this concerns my dignity. If you tell others, how am I going to face them? If thereâs a next time... Iâll have to trouble you to look for that friend.â
Sharon found it funny. She isnât worried that her so-called âgood sistersâ would leak the secret, but she is worried about me, a family member.
Seeing the anticipation in her mother-in-lawâs eyes, Sharon replied, âDonât worry. Iâm different from you; Iâve always done what I said. You should think of a way to make your good friends shut up.â
June was so choked that she couldnât say a word, but she had a favor to ask of Sharon now, so she didnât dare to say anything.
When she saw a bank by the roadside, June happily ran in to deposit all the money she had taken out.
Sharon looked up slightly. She didnât expect Juneâs money to be placed in the bank of the Xavier Group, which showed how powerful her grandfatherâs family was.
... .
When she got home, Sharon was exhausted.
When she saw the servant carrying the muffin upstairs, she knew that Wallace was at home too.
Sharon reached the study, and she didnât expect Wallace to just hang up the phone with a helpless smile on his face.
âWho were you talking to?â Sharon was curious.
âDo you still remember the little sister I mentioned, Jenna?â It was obvious that Wallace was sincerely happy.
Sharon nodded. âI remember seeing her in photos before. She was in the same university as me before I went to graduate school at your university. The Queen family seems to be a prestigious family in the north!â
âI wonder if that girl is still as lively as before.â Wallace seemed to have recalled something interesting from his childhood and couldnât help but smile.
Sharon looked at him, and her heart instantly ached. She didnât participate in Wallaceâs childhood.
âSheâs coming to New York now to visit you?â When they were married, Wallace had said that it was his regret that Jenna didnât come. After that, she also heard that Jenna was a very interesting person.
She was a little curious how this girl could make Wallace miss her so much.
âApart from that, she seems to be going to Sullivan to work.â
Upon hearing Wallaceâs words, Sharon frowned. Why is Jennaâs motive so obvious? She went straight to Sullivan the moment she arrived in New York? Does she already know my identity, so she came to provoke me because of Wallace?
Sharon was frightened by her own thoughts, but other than that, she really couldnât think of why Jenna would give up her family business and work at the Sullivan Group.
