Chapter 21

In a sacred ground like marriage,

you find yourself out of it at certain times

for reasons unknown

that can be destructive.

There could be a demon

that kind of comes out and overtakes you.

Serenity's POV

It's 4:30 A.M and I was downstairs at the window looking at the stars. I can't go to sleep. It's too hard when so much has happened in so little time.

This past week or two has not been a good experience. I've gone through so much pain, trauma... regret. I don't even know what to do anymore. I feel as if every step I take is just leading me down a deeper hole. My parents are dead. That's something that hasn't dared to leave my mind. I didn't favor them much but the regret is still there. The remorse. The guilt.

My old Alpha wants to kill me. That's something I never thought would happen.

I heard footsteps come down the stairs and they made their way over to me. I didn't turn back, already knowing who it was. He sat on the seat next to me. We stayed silent for a while. I turned my head to him. The one person in my life who can make all of my problems disappear. He was staring at me sadly as if he was reading my mind.

" I'm sorry " I whispered as tears came to my eyes. He does anything and everything for me. I don't deserve him. He moved a piece of hair out of my face.

" About what kitten? " He said and the tears fell out of my eyes.

I looked down " About everything. I-I'm just so s-sorry " I said as my voice started to break. He pulled me into his lap and cooed softly in my ear. I listened to the sound of his heartbeat as I started to sob.

" I'm sorry. You're too good to me. I don't deserve you " I said and I felt a sharp slap on my bottom. I whimpered softly and he grabbed my chin in his hand.

" Don't you ever say that again. Do you hear me? " I nodded my head and snuggled back into him.

" I don't want to hear you say things like that. I don't need my kitten to belittle herself. " He said as he kissed my head. We stayed silent again and as the minutes went by I could feel myself slipping into a deep slumber.

3 hours later

I woke up in a panic and looked around hastily. I realized I was back in the room, all by myself. I stood up and walked to the bathroom. It was still a little misty which means Alexander had just showered. I took a quick one and got dressed.

Before I left I looked into the mirror to see my mark on my neck. It was Alexander's black wolf, with his silver eyes, howling. I ran my fingers over it softly before I left the bathroom.

I walked downstairs to see it was empty. I sat on the couch and stared blankly at the TV. A few minutes past and I heard Sarah speak.

' Serenity? '

" Hmm? " I responded. We haven't really been on speaking terms. Well she was too afraid to talk to me.

' I'm um....- '

I cut her off " Sorry. I know " That word seems to be the only thing we say nowadays.

' I don't know what came over me during... well everything.... I hope you can forgive me '

I shrugged my shoulders " I understand why you did most of the stuff you did, so we're peachy " I could feel how happy she was.

' I um.... Do you think I could speak with the Alpha? I'd like to talk to him.. If that's ok with you '

" You mean Alexander? " I asked.

' No his wolf Xander '

I shrugged again " I don't mind " and I felt her happiness once again.

' Thank you ' She said and the link cut off. I was still a bit tired so I layed back on the couch and closed my eyes as I felt myself falling back asleep.

1 hour later

I felt someone shake me and my eyes opened slowly.

" Kitten you need to get up. I know you haven't eaten yet. " Alexander said and I sat up slowly seeing a bowl of oatmeal with fruits and a glass of orange juice. I picked up the bowl and started eating. When I finished I set it back on the table and thanked him. Then Sarah's request came across my mind.

" Zandy? "

" Yes kitten? " He said and I cleared my throat softly.

" Um Sarah asked if she could speak with the Alpha... Your wolf " I said and he nodded his head.

" I'm sure Xander wouldn't have a problem with speaking with her. " He said and I nodded my head. A few seconds past and I felt him stroke my neck which made me shiver.

" Yes, I wouldn't have a problem with speaking with her at all " I quickly looked over to Alexander to see his eyes were pitch black with a hint of silver. His wolf had taken over.

" Why don't you bring her out for me pet. I'm sure we won't be too long " He said and I nodded my head quickly and called for Sarah.

Third Person POV

Sarah looked around a little shaken and her eyes made eye contact with Xander.

" Hello Alpha " Her voice came out small.

" Hello my darling. It looks like something has been troubling you yes? "

She nodded her head " Alpha there's something very important I need to tell you but I do not know for sure what it is.... "

" What do you mean darling? " He asked as he brought her closer to him.

" There is something very special back at Serenity's old pack and I'm not sure what it is... " Xander stared at her to continue and she did.

" When Charlie and Serenity both made it here with Alexander there was something very strange trying to pull me. Serenity felt it as well and she went to investigate what it might have been. But as you know.... It got a little sidetracked. Yet even when we arrived at the pack house I still felt the pull. It also seems to be getting stronger. " Xander nodded his head.

" And would you like to go see what this special pull is my pet? " He asked and Sarah nodded.

" For mine and Serenity's sake. This is another reason why she hasn't been sleeping well. "

" Well I'll speak to Alexander and we'll work from there. " She smiled and hugged him gently.

" Thank you Alpha " She said and put hand around her neck.

" You are welcome my pet " He then tilted her head to the side and licked her neck.

" Learning how to behave properly hmm? Such a good girl " He whispered as she melted in his hold.

12 hours later

Ava's POV

I was downstairs getting a drink of water as I stared into the sink. Nate has been so attached to me and I've also become attached to him as well. His possessive ways are getting pretty annoying but Charlie and Serenity told me I'd get used to it. Which I'm fucking not. I just needed a minute to breathe. Get my mind cleared a bit. But the break was quickly cut short as I felt someone grab my hips and pulled me back into their body. He ran his hand down to the hem of the his dress shirt that was on me.

" What are you doing down here princess? " I shrugged my shoulder.

" Just wanted some water " I said softly and he hummed in response. Suddenly I was turned around a pushed against the counter. He hoisted me up onto it and I looked up at him. He ran his hand over my cheek and leaned in closer. I leaned in as well and we kissed. He was dominating me in the kiss and I had no choice but to accept it. He continued to kiss away the oxygen I had left and pulled my hips closer to him as he lifted my leg.

I pulled away gasping for air and he started to suck my neck. He found my sweet spot and started to suck harshly. I moaned softly as I gripped his hair in my hands. He pulled away with a pop and stared straight at me as I was panting.

He chuckled " Oh princess I could get used to this "
