Chapter 25

" What do you think this means? " Liam asked.

" He could be trying to get into her head... Our heads maybe " Alexander replied

" But what if he really is working with Briggs.... What if Briggs already made it up north while we were at our parents? "

" It is possible. We found some weird tracks alongside the borders but we couldn't tell if it was a rogue or not. " Jaxon replied.

" Is the boy even a wolf? I have yet to see him around the pack house " Liam said.

" He is a wolf. A very disrespectful one at that. Kitten and I actually had a small encounter with him at the mall when she had just arrived. " Alexander mentioned. Everyone was in his office trying to put the clues of Alpha Briggs together. Charlie, Ava and I both sat on one couch observing as all of the guys put their ideas together.

" I also had an encounter with him and a few of his friends when I took the girls shopping. Do you think they could be apart of this as well? " Nate questioned.

" That is also a possibility..... " Alexander paused for a second as a thought went through his mind.

" Liam, did your warriors capture any of the rogues that came by? " Liam thought about it for a second.

" I'm pretty sure they captured some and a few are in the cells why? "

" Did we find out yet who sent them? "

" No we haven't yet. They refuse to speak their leader. Where are you getting at with all this? " Nate asked. Alexander stood still and stared at the window.

" North, scent, rogues " He whispered as he continued to repeat them in the same pattern. And as if something clicked he came out of his trance and looked over to Liam.

" Lead me to their cells. I'll explain on the way. Everyone follow us except you three " He said pointing to the three of us on the couch. We sighed as they all left the room. Ava stood up and walked to the door.

" Well if you two will excuse me I need to make a call to one of Poseidon's daughters. Their dad owes me a lot of money " She said walking out. We both stood up and walked to the door.

" Yeah I think I'm gonna go take a nap. You'll be ok Ren? " Charlie asked and I nodded my head. We both waved good-bye as we walked to our separate rooms. When I entered the room I took a seat on the bed. Once I did my chest started to become heavy and tears came to my eyes.

Nobody understands me when I say this is all my fault. If Alpha Briggs just killed me when I first shifted we wouldn't be in this problem with wolves dieing for no particular reason. I laid back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling as I got lost in my own thoughts.

Alexander's POV

We made our way out of the pack house and Jaxon spoke.

" Ok what does all of this mean? Why are we heading to the cells? "

" If you think about it.. We haven't been able to get a real lead on Briggs. All that we know is that he was heading North. The rogues who attacked won't give us the name of their leader. What if he wanted us to look for him.. What if he went around in circles somewhere and used rogues to cover up his scent when they moved up north. The attack on the pack could have just been a distraction. "

" So what exactly are you saying right now? " Nate asked as they all looked at me wide eyed.

" Briggs was ready. He's always been ready. When his pack members attacked us early on he fled his pack and either took some pack members and made them go rogue or he could've found a large group of them and became their new leader. So as we moved south to attack his pack he might've sent a bunch of rogues to come north to strike and kept a small group with him. "

" And as we attacked his pack he may of went around different territories and left his scent there to confuse us. " Liam spoke understanding where I was coming from.

" Exactly. And as we spent days at our parents he could've already made it to Canada and formed a larger group of rogues, including that boy Blake. "

" But in order to know when we were coming to attack someone had to inform him. Do you think it could be Blake? " Nate asked.

" No that would be too obvious.. He's close to Briggs but not close enough since he hasn't fully gone rogue. " Jaxon stated.

" But he wants to get close yet he didn't want to jeopardize his chances. If he did have something to do with the announcement of our attack on Briggs he would of used someone else to do it. " I answered.

" Could it have been a family member? Friend possibly? " Nate asked.

" Most likely a family member. Someone he could force to do this task. Someone who would submit. "

" This doesn't make any sense. How would Blake even be able to get information on who Briggs is to us and why we wanted to kill him in the first place? " Liam questioned.

" That's where his family member comes in. He has some sort of infatuation with Serenity and Charlie and is probably going to the extreme to get them to himself. So he uses his guinea pig of a family member to spy or eavesdrop on us to get information and use it against us.... This particular family member has to be quiet, shy, unnoticeable in the crowd. Someone we could never suspect. "

" All I know is that his parents died " Jaxon said as we reached the cells in the middle of the forest.

" We don't know if he has any siblings though.. That could be a possibility. " Liam said as he open the cell door which was on the ground.

" Precisely " I said as we descended down the steps.

I sent five more punches to his face as I growled.

" TELL ME WHY YOU ATTACKED " I said as he coughed up blood and spit it in my face.

" Fuuuuck y-you " He said and I growled as I snapped his neck in half. This is the fourth one I've asked, tortured and killed because they wouldn't tell us. We walked out the dirty smelling cell and made our way to the next one. As we walked all the other rogues we caught either cowered away in fear, growled at us or tried to kill themselves. As we were about to turn into the next section someone spoke normally for once.

" They won't tell you anything. If anything they want to eat you. He's turned them into rabid animals... Except me " We turned our heads to see a man as old as me standing in front of his cell gate. Unlike the others he kept his cell cleaned and his clothes were decent rather than pieces of fabric. We walked over to his cell as he laughed and sat on his bed.

" Such twisted minds they have now.. Hell Briggs may even be more twisted. Funny how he goes by Briggs nowadays. You know his real name is Seth but have someone call him by that name he'll totally lose his shit " He said chuckling as he looked over to us.

" Ah let me stop rambling... I know you want your information and I kinda want the fucker dead so I'm all yours " He said putting his hands in the air and shrugging his shoulders.

" Tell us what you know " I said.

" Assuming it took you so long to get here to find answers I assume you already figured out bits and pieces so I'll tell you the details. The little tattle tale the boy used was his little sister. She would go around your pack house and get information. I'm pretty sure you didn't even know she existed. Hell the poor girl doesn't even know if she exists herself. I don't know her name but if you were wondering she wasn't following you... "

" How can you be so sure? " Jaxon asked and he smirked.

" Unlike you 4, I can tell when she's around. If you really pay attention and use your wolf senses you can sense her presence. She isn't the most discreet person there is. "

" Was Briggs responsible for the attack on the pack? Is he the leader of the rogues? " I asked and he sucked his teeth.

" Yes and yes. He has a hideout that the rogues made him and that's where he keeps them all. The ones in this cell believe they were unlucky because they didn't get to go off with their new leader. They really think he's coming back for them. But not me. No no no, I believe me being here is a blessing. "

" Why a blessing? "

" The moon goddess always favored me out of the two of us. Shit she favored me out of everyone there. She believe I had the greatness of something more worthy than an alpha. At one point she even asked me to sit at her throne with her. To be by her side. Of course I declined because I felt I could do more than just watch over and do 'magic'. I wanted to help in person. Hence why she's with me all the time. Giving me wisdom, tranquility, everything I needed to succeed and when I am ready I shall join her up on her throne. I already know you'll let me out for many reasons. 1 I am the sane one out of us both, 2 I know every single plan he has made up, 3 I know each and every hideout, 4 the moon goddess is with me.. Shall I keep going? "

" Why hasn't he turned you into one of them? "

" Even though he is a psychopath, I know he would never hurt me. He can't. But I can hurt him... He's afraid of me "

" Before we do anymore talking or releasing.. Who are you? " He stood up and came back up to the bars.

" I am Warrior Scott Sebastian Briggs. Brother of Alpha Seth Briggs.... At your service "
