Chapter 274
30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)
Chapter 274 In the backseat of his sleek Maybach, Jason gripped the steering wheel with both hands, having just left the Dorvold residence not long ago. His phone, resting on the passenger seat, buzzed with an incoming call.
The caller ID flashed Hollyâs name, causing Jasonâs expression to darken for a moment. But with his mind swirling with thoughts about Estrellaâs fruitless doctorâs visit earlier that day, he reluctantly answered.
âJason, letâs meet up, Hollyâs voice came through, clear and insistent..
He hesitated before responding, prompting Holly to press on. âWe need to talk about that fire seven years ago. I figure even if you could bury me, you wouldnât want everything to go down in flames, especially not with Estrella caught in the crossfire.â
Then she added, âI can hand over all the evidence to you.â
Jasonâs voice was flat as he agreed, âFine.â
âCome to my place. Iâll text you the address.â
Half an hour later, Holly swung open the door to her apartment, revealing a cozy interior bathed in warm light and quiet, with a bottle of red wine and candlesticks adorning the dining table. Holly wore a black lace nightgown beneath her robe.
âYou made it, Jason. Join me for a drink?â she said, closing the door and pouring him a glass.
Jason didnât reach for the glass. Holly held it out for a moment longer, then set it down with a resigned chuckle. âAfter all these years, you still wonât give me an inch, will you?â
She continued, her voice softening, âYou know, a woman needs to be charmed. Charm Estrella, and she might fall back into your arms. Charm me, and Iâll give you the evidence. Isnât that simple?â
Before Jason could reply, Holly pressed on, âYou know Iâve never held this against Estrella-all out of respect for you. I care about you, Jason.â
Jason sat down at the table, his expression unchanged. âHolly, Estrella didnât start that fire. If you truly want to clear things choose to cooperate.â
in WOLLC âNot Estrella?â Holly laughed incredulously. âThe evidence points to her. How could it not be?â
After a pause, she shifted gears, against you. Itâs my birthday today.â
ok, I didnât invite you over to arque or to use Estrella Jason didnât bother with pleasantries or birthday wishes. He just watched her coolly.
When their eyes met and Jason didnât bring up the fire again, Holly took it as a sign of 1/2 Chapter 274 softening and slipped off her robe, revealing more of her glowing skin against the black nightgown. Still, Jason remained silent.
Holly, undaunted, moved closer. âIâve waited for you for years. I just wanted to be with you. I donât want to live with regrets, Jason.â With that, she knelt on one knee before him and gently took his hand.
Jason swiftly pulled his hand away, his gaze icy. âWhat makes you think this will work with me, Holly? That Iâd fall for anyone who undresses in front of me? Naive.â
Holly, still hopeful, pressed for a response. âJason, I donât believe it. I donât believe that your have no feelings for me. If thatâs true, why didnât you clarify things with the Ledford family back then?â
Jason stood up slowly, his voice even. âI did the Ledford family a favor seven years ago because your brother helped Estrella. I owed him that much-not to ruin his reputation.â
Her brother?
She remembered that time when Estrella had been cornered, and she had called her brother Korey to rescue her, hoping that would endear him to Estrella, But it hadnât worked.
you could Staring into Jasonâs indifferent gaze, Holly, with tears in her eyes, asked, âIf your fulfill my my wish, I can provide you with all the evidence. From now on, we wonât mention the fire incident, and we wonât hold any grudges against each other for the past. Would you.
agree?â
Looking at Hollyâs eager eyes, Jason said, âHolly, youâre not significant enough to negotiate with me.â
Hollyâs eyes filled with tears. âMust you be so heartless?â
Jason lowered his head to stare at Holly. Despite her current sexiness and allure, Jasonâs eyes showed no hint of the typical lustful gaze towards a woman. Instead, he coldly. stared at her and asked, âHolly, were you involved in the fire seven years ago?â
