Chapter 41
The Remorseful Brothers
Chapter 41 In the orphanage, Madeline was very much loved by her brothers there.
But after entering Phantom Organization, they became more and more psychotic Every one of them was becoming slighly abnormal.
They were becoming extremely dangerous.
Madeline couldnât really enjoy the love they were showering her with.
She didnât really want that shower of love from them.
Madelineâs gaze drifted. Next, she had to figure out how to make them pay less attention to her.
She disliked their possessiveness toward her.
The taxi arrived at her destination.
Madeline went in and started on the procedure to bail out Mary When Mary came out, she was carrying her luggage with her.
The moment she walked out of the gate, she burst into tears.
âMaddie, itâs you,â choked out Mary.
The feeling of being able to bask under the suri was really freeing âI thought I will never be able to get out,â mumbled Mary.
âMary, stop crying,â comforted Madeline as she pretended to be relaxed and smiled. âEverything is fine now, all right? Donât worry. I know you are innocent. You are free now and wonât have a criminal record.â
Mary nodded as she took Madelineâs hand and said, âIt is all thanks to you.â
âWhat exactly happened?â Madeline asked.
âI donât know what happened. When I was at home, I would clean up the house every day,â explained Mary in confusion. âBut Ms. Winslet Larson suddenly said that her diamond necklace was missing, and many people came forward to investigate. And...
And they found the necklace in my room.â Mary added sadly, âMaddie, you know Iâve been with the Larson family for more than ten years. I would never do such a thingâ
Madeline nodded and said, âI know. Your only fault was being nice to me.â
Mary was stunned and suddenly understood everything that had happened.
âThe whole family loves Ms. Winslet Larson. Why would she do something like this asked Mary. âYou are the biological daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larson. They are being so foolish about this. I have tried to advise Mrs. Larson, but she... doesnât want to listen to me.â
Madeline shook her head.
The fact was that they had no affectionate feelings toward each other.
Adding on that was Winslet, who spared no effort to smear Madelineâs reputation.
1/4 19:03 Thu, Sep Chapter 41 It would be strange if the Larson family actually liked her.
In the end, they never trusted Madeline.
âItâs all right. I disown them. From today onward, I have nothing to do with anything related to the Larson family,â said Madeline as she took out the copy of her parentsâ will. âLook, Mary. Look at my parentsâ will. Iâve given up my inheritance rights.â
Mary was in disbelief. After a moment, her eyes suddenly turned red as she choked out, âMs. Larson, how can you be so silly?
You are the Larson familyâs biological daughter. If you let your parents change their will, doesnât that mean you are giving up everything thatâs yours to someone else? Donât you want to be with your family after all the years of hardship you have been through?â
âI used to think thatâs what I wanted, too,â said Madeline as she put away her stuff and sighed. âMary, Iâm going to send you to my grandparentsâ place. It will be like you are taking care of them. Iâll pay you every month, just like how things were beforeâ
Mary shook her head and said, âI donât need the money. I have no children or relatives. If you can provide me with a place to live, thatâs more than enough. Now, no one would dare to hire me in Acocester. I will be satisfied if I donât have to worry about where my next meal is from. Besides, I have my savings.â
Madeline smiled and said, âItâs all right. I can afford that bit of money.â
âBut I thought you didnât have money, Ms. Larson?â asked Mary âThat was before. Thatâs not the case now,â said Madeline.
Mary realized that Madeline was behaving very strangely that day.
She was confused by Madelineâs remarks and could only nod, not quite grasping the full meaning of it.
âMs. Larson, please donât act rashly. You are still young. It doesnât matter even if you move out now. After some time, Mr. and Mrs. Larson will regret this. It wonât be too late for you to come back then.â
Madeline didnât want to talk about that anymore. Til take you to dinner and then send you to the station,â said Madeline. âMy grandparents will pick you up at the stationâ
Winslet was on the couch at the Larson residence while her mind was busy scheming things.
Benjamin had also come especially to see her and stood beside her, looking on eagerly.
Winslet didnât refuse Benjaminâs offer of service. As she watched him peel grapes for her, she remarked, âBenjamin, you are so nice to me. If Maddie sees this, she will be sad. When Maddie returns later, you shouldnât act like this in front of her. I donât want her to be sad.â
Benjamin sighed and thought, âHow kind of Winsletâ
However, he didnât really want to hurt Madeline anymore.
The biggest reason for him to go there that day was to see Madeline.
Layla looked at the time, becoming impatient, and complained, canât believe Madeline is doing this. Itâs been almost two hours, and she hasnât returned on time. I donât think we need to wait for her anymore. She has no concept of punctuality. We canât have so many people waiting for her.â
Thomas shook his head and said, âItâs all right. Letâs wait for a while some more. Maddie is much more obedient and sensible now, but there is still room for improvement.â He took sip of tea and continued, âEveryone has been worried about Winnieâs studies recently, so letâs take this time to have a good rest. Tomorrow night, Iâll need to go to the airport and wait to receive the CEO of Glorious Group.â

Chapter 41 ãé¬é¤$70%é Layla was in a better mood again as she said, âI saw it on the headlines today. It is the only thing everyone is talking about on Instagram. A lot of people are going to receive them. You will surely be tired out at that time.â
âItâs all for the sake of our family. There is nothing to be tired about when it comes to that,â said Thomas as he smiled brightly.
âBenjamin, will your family be there as well?â
âOf course. Although the Moore familyâs asset is more than tens of millions, Glorious Groupâs scale is bigger. Both my father and grandpa will be there in person. And as far as I know, at least half of Acocester will send people to receive the CEO,â said Benjamin.
Thomas suddenly became more stressed. âThen, itâs still difficult for me to meet this CEO.â
âIâm sure it wonât be,â said Benjamin as he smiled. âIâve spoken to my father about this. You can go to the welcoming banquet with them.â
Thomas was stunned before he gushed, âBenjamin, you are really a good sonâinâlaw.... After tomorrow, that wonât be the case.
anymore. For me, you are still part of the family.â
Layla tutted and said, âWhat do you mean by ânot anymore? Why will he not be our sonâinâlaw anymore? Itâs just that the person he is engaged to will be different Realizationâdawned upon Thomas the next second.
However, he had been counting on Winslet to marry into a prominent wealthy family in the capital.
And Benjamin was still a bit way off from his expectations.
But Thomas couldnât say that directly.
âThen, I suppose he is still a good sonâinâlaw,â said Thomas.
Madeline came in with two bags of clothes in her hands.
âMaddie, youâre finally back. Letâs hurry and get a move on,â said Thomas as he stood up. He cleared his throat and added. âYou can ride with Benjamin. You need to discuss how things are going to proceed tomorrow.â
Winslet frowned.
However, Benjamin agreed to that suggestion.
Madeline pursed her lips and said smilingly, âAll right. Iâll change my clothes and come down right away.â
Benjamin looked at her in a daze.
Winslet looked at Benjamin and expected him to refuse.
But he didnât really look like he wanted to refuse the suggestion Winslet had to say something and reminded him, âBenjamin, didnât you say that you would accompany me? Why are you changing your mind suddenly?â she asked.
âWinnie, this is the last time. I only need to discuss some matters with her. Donât read too much into it. When we get to that -
place, I will have a lot of time to accompany you,â explained Benjamin.
Winslet said awkwardly. Iâm not reading too much into it. Itâs just that I want to talk to you. Since you said you
