Chapter 45
The Remorseful Brothers
Chapter 45 Madeline looked at the sky.
Winslet smiled coldly. âAre you afraid that it will rain tonight? It wonât. You wonât win even if you stare at the sky. You were humiliating yourself when you bet on this with me.â
Madeline did not care about the result of the bet.
She was only messing with Winslet.
The wind was getting stronger.
Harley was a little worried. âHenry, will it rain?â
âI donât think so. I just asked the person in charge. It will not rain tonight.â Henry rowed the oar absentâmindedly.
Benjamin and Lucas sat together.
They stared at Winsletâs inflatable boat and rowed in that direction.
âWinnie.â Lucas deliberately splashed some water.
âLucas, what are you doing? Letâs see if you dare to bully me.â Winslet pouted and splashed Lucas until the latter was soaked.
Benjamin glanced at Winslet and fixed his eyes on Madeline.
Madeline leaned over and looked extremely aloof.
It turned out that Madeline appeared quite alienated when she was not following Benjamin around.
The two inflatable boats were almost together.
Benjamin leaned against Winslet and said, âIt looks like you had a good time. Letâs go together again next time. Anyway, Iâm also at Acocester University. I heard that there are many interesting places near Acocester University.â
Winslet glanced at him. âLet me ask you a question.â
Benjamin nodded.
âIf I fell into the water with Maddie, who would you choose to save?â
Benjamin hardly thought about it. âOf course, Iâll save you. Even if it was instinctively, my body would choose to save you.â
When she heard that, Winslet was relieved.
âWhy did you suddenly think of asking this?â
Winslet waved her hand. âIsnât this a topic on the Internet? Youâre slow. Benjamin, are you a nerd?â
Meanwhile, Lucas was indifferent to Madeline.
He slapped the water with his oars and seemed to be a little impatient.
The noise of the wind gradually became louder.
Madeline looked at the dark clouds gathered in the sky.

Chapter 45 She suddenly smiled and said, âDo you know why I know that youâre bad at playing games?â
Lucas looked unhappy. âYouâd better not make me throw you into the water.â
+5 Madeline smiled with a hint of ridicule in her eyes. âArenât you curious? Why did someone help you when you were laughed at for playing games eight months ago? Why would someone know your predicament by chance?â
Lucas sat up straight and looked a little, serious.
He was completely different from his usual carefree self.
He looked at Madeline silently. âWhy?â
Although he asked so, he already had an answer in his heart. He was only in disbelief.
No two people in the world had similar voices that were almost identical.
Whenever Lynn was broadcasting, Madeline would happen to be out.
âBecause thatâs my alternate account,â said Madeline.
Lucas suddenly sneered. âAre you kidding me? Do you think Iâll believe your words? Who are you? You must be secretly watching me play games. Arenât you afraid that Iâll expose you when you lie about that?â
Madeline tilted her head. âI donât expect you to believe me. After all, Iâm just a country bumpkin in your heart who hasnât even used the computer.â
Then, she seemed to sigh. âThen, take it as a joke.â
Lucas was silent for a while.
He was so excited and felt a cold sweat on his back.
He could not believe it at all.
Lucas thought, âThe Madeline I ignore and bully every day is actually Lynn? Itâs impossible!â
Lucas looked extremely serious. âWhat is the most common thing she says when I play games with her?â
âYouâre good at this. Stop playing the game next time,â replied Madeline.
Lucas gripped the oar tightly and tensed up. He frowned and fixed his eyes on Madeline.
His mind went blank.
His heartbeat was faster than before.
At that moment, he had forgotten to breathe and did not know why he was not suffocated.
âNo way.â
Madeline suddenly smiled and rowed further into the reservoir with her oars.
Lucasâ gaze followed her subconsciously.
Suddenly, he shouted, âItâs impossible! Youâre lying to me!â
Winslet was a little confused. âWhat did you just say to Lucas? Why did he make such a big reaction?â
D 19:05 Thu, Sep 12 @M Chapter 45 âNothing. Thereâs something terrible that I didnât tell you.â Madeline looked at the sky.
Winslet suddenly felt a little uneasy. âWhatâs that?â
âIn fact, I can swim. I can swim very well.â
Winslet was stunned and became agitated. âSo youâre messing with me, arenât you? Arenât you the best at acting?â
Madeline took a breath above the waterâs surface and appeared relaxed unprecedentedly.
âItâs about to start soon...â
Winslet commented, âI guess you donât have the heart to act this time.â
Clap!
A scary noise sounded in the sky.
A thunderbolt lit up the sky as brightly as daylight.
It was as if a silver snake danced in the dark clouds.
The thunder echoed in the layer of clouds, making peopleâs eardrums tremble.
Winslet trembled. âWill it really rain?â
The humid wind swept through.
Pitterâpatter!
Instantly, the weather changed.

+5 Winslet turned gloomy. âStop messing around. Hurry up and row to the shore. I wonât bet with you today. If the ship really capsizes in this weather, weâll die!â
âDo you think I want to live?â asked Madeline.
The strong wind blew Winsletâs hair into a mess.
Her clothes also rustled in the wind.
Winslet noticed Madeline was not scared at all. The formerâs face instantly turned pale. âSo you dragged me here today to die with me? Youâve lost your mind!â
Winslet wanted to ask the Larson brothers for help.
However, it was too late.
It was already raining.
The heavy rain poured down and blocked their sight.
Winslet waved at the Larson brothers but did not get any response.
The inflatable boat soon collected a lot of rainwater.
The reservoir was already deep. At that moment, the waves surged and hit the inflatable boat.
It emphasized how small they were in the heavy rain.
2/4 19:05 Thu, Sep 12 D R Chapter 45 Winslet tried her best to row the inflatable boat with the oars, but the waves were so turbulent that she could not get far.
Another wave hit her back to the original place, even further away from the shore.
She was desperate.
âMadeline, youâre a troublemaker. Iâm going to die because of you today!â

Madelineâs expression was extremely cold and calm in the rain. âI thought you were not afraid of death. It turns out youâre actually scared.â
Winslet naturally knew what Madeline meant.
The situation was different last time.
Winslet was sure that she would not hurt herself before she rolled down the stairs.
Winslet could not swim. Even if she could swim, it was impossible for her to swim in such a critical situation.
Winslet said, âWe can only wait for everyone to save us.â
Madeline shook her head. âLook, the ship over there has capsized. No one can come to save us.â
The other three inflatable boats had capsized.
Several people were struggling desperately on the water.
Only Winsletâs boat had not capsized yet.
Winslet trembled with fear. âThe lifeguard... Thereâs a lifeguard...
Madeline raised her eyebrows. âDidnât the lifeguard just say that heâll come here after going to the restroom?â
Hearing that, Winslet was completely desperate.
She looked at Madeline with resentment. âSo you want to swim on your own? Madeline, if I die, Dad and Mom will hate you for the rest of their life! My brothers will always remember that you killed me!â
