After returning to his room, Lucas punched his computer desk furiously, He couldn’t help the frustration that arose at the thought of Madeline’s gaze.

Perhaps he had gotten used to her cautious ingratiation for the past eight months as well as picking on her.

Now that she no longer sucked up to him, he felt ill at ease instead.
