Chapter 1745 - 1745 Father Chi’s Lecture
Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser
1745 Father Chiâs Lecture
When Chi Shuyan woke up at noon the next day, the man was indeed gone. She got up, washed up, and went downstairs to eat lunch. She saw her father in the living room. For some reason, Chi Shuyan felt guilty.
Sure enough!
Seeing that his daughter had just woken up, Father Chi frowned hard and his face was serious. Chi Shuyan obediently went over and greeted him. âDad!â
Hearing his daughterâs soft voice, Father Chiâs heart subconsciously softened. It was just that he was usually very disciplined and strict with himself, and couldnât stand lazy people. Moreover, he used to lower his expectations for this child. Thinking that there was still time, he let the child enjoy life by his side, and couldnât bear for her to work.
Now that she was about to get married, however, why was she getting up so late? She didnât know any better. Zhenbai was the one who had cooked porridge this morning. Father Chi immediately looked at his daughter with an especially serious expression. Without waiting for his daughter to speak, he probed in a deep voice, âYan Yan, do you usually wake up so late?â
Chi Shuyan was stumped. She was nervous and didnât immediately discern her fatherâs thoughts. She hesitated for a moment before she said, âNot really, only sometimes, Dad!â
Father Chi nodded and continued to ask, âDo you usually cook at home, or does my son-in-law cook?â
Chi Shuyan said, âIâm usually too busy to cook. Most of the time, Chef Li cooks, while Zhenbai cooks sometimes.â
Father Chi seemed to choke at his daughterâs words, then asked again, âThen, who does the cleaning and laundry at home?â
âMm⦠Your son-in-law does it. Heâs better at doing housework!â Chi Shuyan answered honestly. That was indeed the case. Usually, Qi Zhenbai would clear the laundry basket when Chi Shuyan showered.
In fact, when the two of them first got together, she naturally washed her own minor items herself. Not long after that, however, she realized that every time she took a shower, the dirty clothes she put in the laundry basket would be washed and hung out on the balcony the next day.
At first, she was still a little polite and told the man that she would wash them herself, but he continued to do the laundry for her.
After that, she got used to it. The man never said anything or had any objections, and was especially diligent with the laundry.
Chi Shuyan didnât know that as soon as she said that, Father Chi was rendered speechless again for a long time. He looked at his daughter helplessly. He then thought of his tall, strong and imposing future son-in-law. He couldnât tell at all that this kid actually had the attributes of a good wife and mother, nor could he imagine this Qi kid washing and drying his daughterâs clothes.
If he had known that Zhenbai would be the one on the losing end when the two children got together, he wouldnât have given him that kind of attitude back in the military district.
In the past, he had really been worried that his daughter wouldnât be able to control Zhenbai and would be hurt by that rascal, but now, he felt that his son-in-law was quite unlucky to have found a wife like his daughter who didnât do anything.
But in the end, she was his daughter. Father Chi didnât want to think too badly of her. In his heart, his daughter still had a lot of merits and was worthy of any man. However, Father Chiâs impression of his future son-in-law completely changed, and he felt more guilt toward him now. He made up his mind to treat this son-in-law as his own son in the future. If his daughter didnât dote much on his son-in-law, Father Chi would make up for it so that this son-in-law wouldnât fall in love with someone else in the future!
Given how devoted this son-in-law was to his daughter, however, the probability of him falling in love with someone else was very low.
The more Father Chi thought about it, the better he felt. He suppressed his temper and had his daughter sit down. He said earnestly, âYan Yan, Zhenbai will be your husband in the future. As a wife, you have to care for your husband in order to live a good life. Itâs different once youâre married â donât be so willful. A couple should understand each other!â
Chi Shuyan was speechless. What kind of bewitching potion did Qi Zhenbai give her father? From last night until today, most of what her father said to her was about being good to Qi Zhenbai. Had her father suddenly realized that Qi Zhenbai was his own son, and she had been picked up from somewhere?
Besides, how could she treat Qi Zhenbai badly?
Chi Shuyan suppressed her fluster. After chatting with her father for a while, she used the excuse of having lunch to get away.
Father Chi naturally had nothing to say to that. He could only watch his daughter leave. The more he thought about it, the more he felt that Zhenbai, this son-in-law, was simply extraordinarily good to his daughter. It was just that he was too indulgent. No, when Zhenbai came home, he would have to properly impress on his son-in-law not to indulge Yan Yan anymore. This child was about to get married; how could she go out for a few days and not come home?
Chi Shuyan heaved a sigh of relief when she left the villa. She first sent her man a message to let him know that she was leaving, then planned to call Fan Yin. Fan Yin had already parked his car in front of the villa. When he saw her, he rolled down the window and waved at Master Chi. âMaster Chi, Iâm here, Iâm here!â
Chi Shuyan got into the car. Fan Yin was anxious to strike up a conversation, but who would have thought that Master Chiâs phone would ring at that moment, so he could only shut up obediently.
Chi Shuyan picked up the call and heard the manâs familiar deep and mellow voice. âYouâve left?â
âMm!â
âWhen are you coming back?â
âThree days?â
Seeing that the man didnât say anything for a long time, Chi Shuyan felt a little guilty and immediately corrected herself. âNo⦠two days? According to what we agreed on last night?â
âA day and a half!â The manâs tone was unyielding and irrefutable. Without waiting for Chi Shuyan to say anything, the man said again, âCall me when you return. Iâll pick you up tomorrow evening!â
Chi Shuyan: â¦
