Chapter 789 - Love Spell

Tao Jiang’s face changed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure and said, “Fellow Daoist, my boyfriend took the wrong path, and I’m trying to bring him back! I’m doing this for his own good. I hope you don’t meddle in other people’s business!”

Chi Shuyan narrowed her eyes. Tao Jiang said, “Fellow Daoist, take care of yourself.” She then turned around and left.

Chi Shuyan stared at the woman, her eyes growing colder.

After Tao Jiang left, Chi Shuyan called Lu Chengfu.

Lu Chengfu picked up almost instantly; who knew if he had been waiting for her call. He said abruptly, “Sister-in-law, Yu… what’s wrong with him?” Without waiting for Chi Shuyan to speak, Lu Chengfu quickly said, “Sister-in-law, I’m not especially concerned about his lingering feelings. I just want to know as a friend; I hope he’s alright!”

There was a hint of a smile in Chi Shuyan’s eyes when she heard Lu Chengfu’s words. She was about to subconsciously tease him, but recalling Yu Jinzhou, her face turned a bit grave. She said, “Chengfu, Yu Jinzhou is indeed under some sort of spell and being controlled by that woman.”

Before Chi Shuyan could finish speaking, something clattered to the ground, and it was followed by the sound of Lu Chengfu’s anxious gasp!

Chi Shuyan didn’t have to think to guess Lu Chengfu’s current expression. After all, he had always thought that Yu Jinzhou had betrayed him. Now, she had confirmed that Yu Jinzhou hadn’t betrayed him, but that he was being controlled by Tao Jiang.

After a while, Lu Chengfu choked out tearful and anxious words. “Sister-in-law, how can that be? I always thought… I always thought…”?He had fallen in love with someone else.?His heart had been dead these past few days. Now, some hope had been reignited. When he thought of the risk to Yu Jinzhou’s life in particular, he couldn’t help but be a little anxious. “Sister-in-law, can you save Jinzhou? Please!”

Lu Chengfu believed in his sister-in-law and said excitedly, “Sister-in-law, thank you! Thank you!”

“Okay, don’t thank me yet. In the future, if you notice something isn’t right, don’t keep it in, and remember to look for me.” If she hadn’t felt that this matter was fishy, Lu Chengfu might have really misunderstood Yu Jinzhou, and the two of them might have missed their chance. Wouldn’t that be a pity?

“Thank you, Sister-in-law! Thank you, Sister-in-law!” Lu Chengfu was so grateful that he didn’t know what to say. He repeated these words over and over again.

Chi Shuyan pursed her lips and said a few more words to Lu Chengfu before hanging up.

Because she wasn’t sure what spell Yu Jinzhou was under, she thought of her Celestial Master version of the Mystic Yin Arts; it should have many records of black magic in it.

Thinking this, Chi Shuyan immediately took a taxi back. When she returned to the apartment, Chi Shuyan took out the Mystic Yin Arts for Celestial Masters and found some black magic spells. She then found a spell with effects very similar to Yu Jinzhou’s condition and reactions. Chi Shuyan suspected that Yu Jinzhou had been placed under a love spell, and one which used an insect. After the target ate the insect, they would fall under the mastermind’s control. If the person thought of straying, their body would feel like it was being eaten up by thousands of ants, and they would be in extreme pain.

There were many types of love spells, but after Chi Shuyan looked through them, she still felt it was most likely that the insect had been used.
