Upon hearing Song Lele’s haggard voice, Tang Feng immediately felt some tension.

“Really? I don’t think so. I’m quite fine,” Song Lele’s voice regained its usual clarity, but Tang Feng could tell that she was obviously feigning cheerfulness.

Behind them followed two bodyguards dressed in black suits and sunglasses; each held an umbrella over Xu Xinling and the middle-aged man to shield them from the sun.

Xu Xinling obviously saw him and hurriedly jumped and waved, “Young Master Tang, this way.”

Tang Feng waved back at her, then parked the car leisurely in a parking spot before getting out and walking over.

“You guys got here early?”

“Not really, we’ve just arrived ourselves,” Xu Xinling explained with a smile.

She usually dressed somewhat alternatively, but today, likely due to being with her father, she was dressed very ladylike.

A white dress paired with white canvas shoes; she did give off a ladylike vibe.

“This must be my uncle,” Tang Feng, though impressed, quickly averted his gaze to look at the middle-aged man.

“Let me introduce you. This is my dad, Mr. Xu Tianhua,” Xu Xinling introduced him, then turned back and said to the middle-aged man, “Dad, this is the appraiser I’ve told you about, Mr. Tang Feng.”

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Tang.”

Since Tang Feng’s arrival, Xu Tianhua had been quietly observing his every move, and now, upon hearing his daughter’s introduction, he actively reached out his hand.

Tang Feng had to admire his self-control.

He was well aware that the other party must harbor doubts about him; after all, such a young appraiser would naturally raise questions.

But none of this was apparent on his face.

Since he didn’t outwardly show it, Tang Feng naturally pretended not to know and eagerly shook his hand.

“Nice to meet you, Uncle Xu.”

“Xinling has recommended you to me more than once, saying that not only are you good at appraising antiques, but you are also an expert in raw stones. It’s the first time she’s ever praised a man like this, haha.”

Xu Tianhua regarded him with a look that one might give a prospective son-in-law, and the more he observed, the more satisfied he became.

This put Tang Feng in a slightly awkward position. Was he here to help appraise jade or to meet a future father-in-law?

“Dad, why are you staring at him like that?” Xu Xinling noticed her father’s unusual behavior and hurriedly nudged him.

“Haha, it’s nothing. Let’s go inside,” Xu Tianhua laughed and then took the lead towards the jade market.

Xu Xinling deliberately slowed down her pace to walk side by side with Tang Feng, “My dad is just like that, don’t take it personally, okay?”

She was worried that Tang Feng would be upset, so she quickly whispered an explanation.

“Not at all, I think Uncle Xu has a good personality,” Tang Feng wasn’t just being polite; anyone else might have slighted him for his youth.

But Xu Tianhua did not, at least not outwardly.

Just this alone was quite admirable.

The jade market wasn’t very large, covering an area about the size of a basketball court, with only a few small vendors scattered around.

“Mr. Ma, is that stone still available?” Xu Tianhua skipped the pleasantries and got straight to the point.

“Many people have taken a liking to that stone and even offered a sky-high price, but I didn’t sell it. I saved it especially for you, Mr. Xu, please come this way.”

The goatee old man said this while leading the way.

Tang Feng watched his actions and mannerisms and felt he was a bit slippery.
