Anne could sense Chris grip on her hand tightening and compromised. “Sure...”

Back when Chloe was sick, her brother had never left her side and since Charlie was injured, it was

only natural that the other two would want to stay.

“Mr. Marwood is here!” Ivan said.

Anne turned her head. Though she could not see, she could hear the sound of Anthony's leather

shoes stepping onto the ground as they approached.

“I'm here.” Anthony walked up to Anne and stared at her intently.

The fear threatening to take over her heart faded slightly at the sound of his voice.

“Papa, Charlie got hurt here!” Chloe pointed at her forehead.

“There was so much blood!" Chris added.

Anthony patted them on the heads. “Papa is here. It'll be fine.”

“Yeah. It will be fine!" The two children trusted their father.

“Take the kids to rest,” Anthony commanded.

“Papa, we want to wait for Charlie to come out!” Chloe requested.

“I know. There's a room next to us. You can wait inside,” he said.

The nanny took the children to the private room to rest.

“If Charlie hurt his head, is he going to end up like me?” Anne panted as tears scrolled down her in

the absence of her children.

“It won't happen. You are scaring yourself.” He wiped away her tears. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

Anthony had already been informed on what happened from Ivan.

Anne shook her head and said, “No, just had people fall on me...” She could not sense any

discomfort even if there was any as she could only think of Charlie. “As long as Charlie is fine, I'll be

fine.”

She could not imagine what would happen to her if Charlie was severely injured and she could not

live with herself if that was the case.

Just the thought alone left Anne in tears. Tears welled in her eyes as she trembled and Anthony

pulled her into his arms, muttering, “It's going to be fine.”

If this was any other time, Anne would never allow herself to be held in such a manner, but she no

longer had the ability to think of anything else.

All she could think of was that she wanted Charlie to be fine.

Half an hour later, the door to the emergency room opened.

Anne heard the sound of the door opening and wiggled out of Anthony's embrace.” Is Charlie out?

Charlie?”

“Don’t move.” Anthony grabbed her arm and pulled her back to stand by his side.

Kathryn walked over. “Mr. Marwood, Mrs. Marwood, don't worry. It's just an external injury. He did

not suffer any brain damage so he will be fine once he wakes up.”

The tensed lines of Anthony's features relaxed slightly; on the other hand, Anne had been so

worried about Charlie that once she relaxed, she could not catch up with the waves of emotions she

was feeling and collapsed.

“Anne!” Anthony immediately caught her.

Anne fainted and was carried into the emergency room for a body—check. Luckily, apart from the

bruises on her abdomen from being stepped on, she had not suffered any internal injury and had

simply lost consciousness due to shock.

Bianca had also been admitted into the same hospital and Meredith left.
