"Aren“t people curious as to why you have been wearing this mask to the office? Do you show that

ugly face to Anthony and the triplets? You probably don't have the courage for that, huh? You look

horrible. If I were you, I would just kill myself,” Bianca mocked as she played with the mask in her

hand.

Anne darted up to grab the mask, but Bianca instantly backed away. “I think that people should be

more truthful, you know? Good or bad, you should hide yourself regardless.”

“Bianca, I'm warning you!”

"Warning me about what?” Bianca said fearlessly, “I killed your dad and here I stand. Anthony loves

and protects me, so I'm not afraid of anyone, especially you. Don't think that you have won simply

because you married him!”

Anne's hand on her cheek started to tremble.

The murder of her father would always be the darkest trauma that haunted her.

“That's right!” She thought, “Why should I care about a mere scar, when I've lost my own father? The

murderer is right in front of me and I can't stand it!"

“You want the mask back? How about this? You can trade it with the ring on your finger.” Bianca

stared at the wedding band on Anne's finger, her heart pierced by devastation whenever she laid

eyes on the ring.

Anne lowered her gaze to look at the ring on her finger, feeling like it was nothing but a chain to

keep her down.

She had never taken it off again since Anthony warned her; she did not have the courage to do so,

not in the past, nor in the present.

Anthony had transformed into a sensitive beast that could be a disaster when triggered, so Anne

could not afford to cross him.

Just as she hesitated, the elevator door opened and two employees came down to take their cars.

When they saw Anne, they greeted, “Ms. Vallois!”

Anne remained quiet with her hand on her cheek and Bianca took the opportunity to shout, “Ms.

Vallois here is upset because her face is ruined. Half her face is destroyed. If you don't believe me,

ask her to lower her hand and show you.”

The two employees froze and turned to look at Anne.

Everyone in the office had been wondering why Anne was wearing a mask and most had thought

that she was sick, but according to Bianca, it was because her face was ruined.

Anne glared daggers at Bianca.

"What? I'm just telling the truth. You had it coming because of what a vicious b*tch you a-" Bianca

continued smugly when she saw Anne dropping her hand.

In the midst of her shock, Anne darted closer and slapped her in the face.

"Ah!" By the time Bianca realized what had happened, Anne had already taken the mask back. She

stormed up to Anne furiously. “Anne Vallois, you b*tch! How dare you hit me..."

She raised her hand, but was stopped by the driver.

"Who do you think you are? Let me go!” Bianca was enraged that not only did she fail to hit Anne,

her arm was grabbed by a lowly driver.

"You cannot hurt Mrs. Marwood.” The driver refused to let go.

"And you can hurt me?” Bianca struggled to escape.

The driver did not respond, but did not let go either.

Failing to escape the driver's restraint, Bianca glared at Anne fiercely, desperately hoping to tear

Anne into shreds

“Ms. Vallois, please get into the car.” One of the employees came over to help.

Anne knew that her employees had seen her face. She had thought that they would be terrified and

did not expect them to come over.

Perhaps it was because she was their boss, but she still applauded their courage in doing so.
