Chapter 1197
Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies
Chapter 1197
Kathryn remained standing, feeling helpless as she listened to Anne's desperate wails. Anthony had
married Anne and the two had three children together, so how could their relationship worsen to
such an extent?
âMr. Marwood is used to being ruthless at work, so maybe that's just how he deals with everything
in life. Maybe there's some sort of misunderstanding between you two. Just resolve it. You know
what kind of a man he is, so just donât provoke him. That's what survival is like. You will need to
learn to be careful in front of Mr. Marwood.â
Devastated, Anne felt like bursting into laughter. âBe careful? Can you read the future?â Anne
retorted. âIs it wrong of me to run into Tommy? Is it a crime for me to invite him into my office for a
cup of tea? What did I do to deserve this?â
Kathryn finally realized that the triggering point of the conflict between Anne and Anthony was
Tommy.
âIf you know that this is what triggers Mr. Marwood, just avoid Tommy altogether from now on,â
Kathryn suggested.
Anne remained silent blankly and thought, âSure. I should just run from any man that comes my
way. Is that fair? Do I not have the freedom to talk to someone else? The only choice I get is to live
the rest of my life fawning over Anthony? How about what happened in the past when Anthony
injured me? Did I have it all coming? This isn't the marriage that I want...â
Kathryn walked closer to her. âDoes Tommy like you?â
Anne shot her a confused look. âWhat?â
âI'm just saying that if Tommy likes you, that's all the more reason to stay away from him. You are
challenging Mr. Marwood by speaking to Tommy,â Kathryn said.
She did not want Anne to lose her mind, or she would only be burdened further as Anne's doctor.
Kathryn knew that Anthony would never let Anne go and anyone with eyes could tell that he was
obsessively possessive of her.
âI don't know if Tommy likes me, but heâs helped me a lot and I see him as a brother. Nothing has
ever happened between us and I've explained this to Anthony before!â Anne stared outside the
balcony, paling as the sunlight shone into her eyes. âHe isn't doing this to me because of that. It's
because of...Bianca.â
Stunned, Kathryn asked, âAre you saying that Mr. Marwood is doing all these for
Bianca's sake?"
Anne lowered her head in defeat. âIs that even surprising? I saw them kissing! Antony has always
been protective of Bianca and he even let her go after she killed my dad. I feel nothing but
resentment and disappointment toward him, so why should I have to change myself in order to
please him? We belong to two different worlds..."
âHow complicated,â Kathryn thought, âlove is the most complicated thing in the world."
âMr. Marwood said that if you admit that you were wrong and promise not to do that again, he will
let you out.â
"Donât send food here again.â Anne took a deep breath to ease the pain she felt in her chest, before
proceeding as though she did not hear a word Kathryn said. âJust fill the refrigerator with food. I can
cook on my own.â
Kathryn nodded, but knew that she would need to consult with Anthony before making the
decision. âJust eat first.â She opened the lunchbox, worried that Anne would refuse to eat as
negative emotions could affect oneâs appetite.
To her surprise, Anne did not say a word and simply took her seat, before proceeding to eat.
Kathryn sighed a breath of relief that Anne was willing to eat.
âTake it slow. I will tidy things up once you are done,â Kathryn said, before gathering the tools in her
briefcase.
She looked up as Anne ate in silence, wondering what Anne was thinking at the moment.
âMaybe sheâs thinking about her kids,â she thought, âher triplets are in the Royal Mansion, so she
must really want to see them. If that's the case, why fight Anthony to begin with? Is it because sheâs
reached her limit? I suppose that makes sense. There's a limit to how much a person can take.â
