Lucas did not like it when they spoke to him as if he was a three-year-old. “She will never go back to

Anthony's side.”

“I saw on the news that Anthony's child had an accident, but she didn't seem to care. You don't

deserve someone as insensitive as that,” Eason spoke harshly.

Joanne noticed that Lucas looked upset, so she tried to calm him down by gently pushing his father

away. After all, their focus should not be on these kinds of matters.

“Did Anne say she wants to go back?” Joanne asked.

“No, she didn't even consider returning after leaving Luton,” Lucas replied.

“That's good.” Joanne paused for a moment before adding, “But it's not going to be easy for her to

break free from Anthony's control. How did you even manage to get in touch with her in the first

place? Didn't Anthony find out? I'm worried that he'll investigate and find clues.”

“He won't find out,” Lucas confidently stated.

"Why are you so sure? You have to be honest with us so that we can help you as your parents,”

Eason inquired.

"I contacted her through people who are close to Anthony,” Lucas revealed.

“Who? Do I know them?” Joanne asked.

“I don't know,” Lucas responded.

He had no intention of even sharing this information with his own parents.

“Is he your accomplice? Is there anyone else involved?” Joanne pressed further.

Lucas felt that his parents were scrutinizing him too closely.

Although he found it strange, he did not think too much about it because they were his family.

“No,” he answered simply.

Eason and Joanne realized that Lucas had no intention of revealing any more

information, so they decided to stop asking questions.

They knew that continuing to press him would only make him suspicious, and they did not want to

risk damaging their relationship.

It was evening in their location and afternoon in Luton when Anthony received another call from

Joanne. “I couldn't get any more information out of him. He wouldn't even say more about who it is,

but he mentioned that it was someone close to you.”

“People around me...” Anthony muttered to himself.

“I'm sorry I couldn't give you more of a hint. I've done my best,” Joanne apologized.

"Yes. I'll be waiting for your call,” Anthony responded after a pause.

Before Joanne could even feel relieved, the call had already ended.

Dr. Brown walked into the office, closed the door, and as she turned around, she was shocked to see

Anthony sitting in her chair.

“Mr. Marwood? Do you need something?” Dr. Brown approached him, feeling the powerful aura

emanating from him, making her hair stand on end. “I just came from the intensive care unit, and

the children are still sleeping and haven't awoken yet.”

Anthony looked at her coldly, his black eyes sharp like an eagle's and filled with a cruel intensity that

could kill. “I've been wondering about something. Could you help me analyze how Anne and Lucas

got in touch?”

Upon being asked this, Dr. Brown's heart skipped a beat, and her face froze for a moment.

Why would Mr. Marwood asks such a question? Why would he come to her for an answer?
