“I should say that she’s just an idiot,” Corentin added.

He seemed to dislike foolish women very much.

After he sat down, he said, “You'll be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.”

“I can already be discharged?” Ashlynn was overjoyed. “I can finally be discharged. I've been staying

here so long that I'm bored out of my wits!"

When Corentin saw her showing her true expressions, his gaze could not help but look gentle,

which was unknown to himself.

“You're not allowed to get out of bed at home.”

“It's still better than staying in the hospital,” said Ashlynn.

God knew how unbearable it was for her to stay in the hospital.

“The person who has been accompanying you didn’t even say anything. You're quite a demanding

patient,” said Corentin casually.

“If you're not happy, I'm not going to force you either...” Ashlynn looked upset.

Corentin sat down on the edge of the bed and stared at her with his amber-colored eyes. “Who said

I'm not happy? I'm extremely happy.”

As he said that, he bit her soft lips, and only let go of them after they turned bright red.

Ashlynn’s breathing slowed down and she was trembling.

She lowered her gaze and did not say anything.

She had no clue what Corentin’s actions meant. Was he changing because he had fallen for her, or

was he grateful that she had taken a bullet for him?

He probably would not have fallen for her so soon

She should wait a little longer.

She should only withdraw herself and back away when the timing was right.

“What are you thinking about?” Corentin’s voice came from above, and his hot breath could be felt

all over

her

“Nothing... Can I get discharged today instead? There's no difference between doing it today and

tomorrow, anyway,” Ashlynn requested

As soon as she learned she could get discharged, she desperately wanted to leave immediately.

“Tomorrow” Corentin did not allow her to refute.

Therefore, she waited until the morning of the following day before she was discharged from the

hospital. Ashlynn was carried to the car by Corentin. After they returned to the mansion, he carried

her to the bed. After she got home, Ashlynn immediately called Beth to tell her that she was

discharged. “Why didn’t you call me earlier and let me pick you up? This is such an important

matter!” Ashlyn could not help but chuckle when she heard her mother complain.

She felt as long as it had something to do with her, just a tiny little matter would make her mother

have a huge reaction.

That did not seem like the mighty Beth at all.

Corentin was already very annoyed that her mother kept going to the hospital every day, to begin

with, so to let her plan go smoothly, Ashlynn did not want to get on his nerves for the time being.

Therefore, she could only ignore her mother.

Her mother would still love her no matter how much she ignored her mother, but Corentin was

different

That was a monster with a twisted mind.

In the end, after all sorts of comforting, acting all adorable, and also promising her to stay with the

Hilton family for a few days after she recovered, she finally placated her mother.

After staying in bed for two days, Ashlynn could not take it anymore, so she got out of bed.

Corentin has to go to work. He has quite a number of matters piled up as he had been staying in

the hospital previously, so he basically was not at home during the day.

However, just a few minutes after she got out of bed, Corentin’s voice could be heard coming from

behind her as he said, “Who gave you the permission to get out of bed?” That startled Ashlynn, and

she turned her head back to look at him in a daze.

“You're at home?"

“I just came home.”

Ashlynn scanned the entire bedroom as she thought of the videos and photos taken previously.

"Did you install cameras in the room?”

“I've taken them down.”

Speaking of that, she thought of Corentin blackmailing her with the videos and photos.

The air in the room froze for a moment.

Ashlynn simply changed the topic. “The doctor didn't say I can't get out of bed, right? As long as it

doesn't hurt, it's beneficial to my recovery for me to get out of bed and take a walk. I have asked the

doctor. Don't think that I don't know...”

Corentin stuck his hand on her back. “Does it not hurt at all?”

“Just a tiny little bit. It almost doesn’t matter.”

“Get on the bed.” Corentin tilted his head.

Ashlynn was slightly stunned and she looked at him with her guard up.

Corentin knew what she was thinking when he saw the way she looked. “I'm not such a beast!”

Ashlynn got onto the bed while scolding him in secret, “You're worse than a beast!"

She laid on the bed on her belly, and her clothes were lifted from the back. There was a piece of

gauze stuck next to her spine.

He peeled the gauze off, and a scab formed over the bullet hole.

The color has already darkened.

There was no tearing caused by her getting out of bed and walking around.

“It's not a big deal, isn't it?" Ashlynn asked with her face pressed against the pillow.

Just when she was confused as she did not hear Corentin’s reply, a sense of numbness shot through

her back like an electric current, which made her body shudder and her breath taken away

Corentin’s thin lips kissed her along her spine from the top. She could even feel him lingering next

to her scab.

Ashlynn clenched her teeth and said, “What...are you doing? I haven't recovered yet..."

"Yet, you got out of bed? This is your punishment.” Corentin continued kissing her.

Ashlynn’s breath became unstable. She needed great restraint to not let any strange sounds leave

her throat.

“Are you still going to get out of bed?” Corentin asked while kissing her.

No matter how much Ashlynn held herself back, she could not hold back the flushing on her face.
