Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies

Chapter 387

Damian would not be foolish enough to do something, knowing that he would appear suspicious.

Anne wondered if Anthony had found anything and after what happened at noon, she could not

quite ask him about it.

She had always been wary toward Anthony.

Anthony had kept his words for Nigel's sake, but she had broken the pack and allowed Anthony to

touch her, so there might happen again and there would be no end to it.

Anne sighed with resignation and checked the missed calls on her phone to find that Nigel had

called her twice around noon.

She walked out of the Archduke Group and called him back as she walked toward the subway

station. “Dad, what's wrong?” “Did you go to work today?” Nigel asked. She subconsciously wanted

to hide her track, but the fact that she did not go to work was not exactly a secret, so he would see

right through her if she tried to lie.

"No."

“Today's not a Sunday. Did you take leave?”

“I had a bit too much to drink last night during our company’s gathering. My head is still hurting, so

I applied for sick leave today. I just went to the office to take my purse and phone, so I didn’t get

your call.”

“I see.” Nigel paused and asked, “Did Anthony come looking for you?” “Why do you ask?” “I'm just

worried that he will bother you. You always keep everything to yourself.”

“I'm fine. He won't come after me. Bianca is his fiancé, after all.” Anne did not know if Nigel truly

cared for her, or if it was Bianca who was trying to learn more about the ight before through Nigel,

so she cut to the chase. “Dad, did Bianca say something to you.

Nigel quieted down, and Anne immediately knew that he had called because Bianca asked him to.

“I don’t mean anything bad. I just didn't want Anthony to get in between you two,” he said gently.

To Anne, the situation could not have been worse. She did not want to cause Nigel any trouble, but

did not know how she could explain that she was drugged. “Bianca said that you spent the night

with Anthony. Is that true?” Anne jumped in shock, uncertain as to how Bianca found out about the

night before. “Why...would she say that?” “She said that you were drinking in the casino and left with

Anthony. Tell me the truth, Anne,

is that true?” Anne stood by the side of the road and stared blankly at the traffic, unable to figure a

way to respond.

In the end, she lowered her head to stare at her feet and lied, “..That didn't happen. Nothing

happened between me and Anthony. Tell Bianca that I've never wanted to steal anything or anyone

from her. I just want to live my life.” “Okay. I believe you.” Nigel hung up and went back to the living

room. Both Dorothy and Bianca were waiting gloomily as they looked to Nigel for answers. He sat

down and said, “I asked Anne, and she said that she wasn’t with Anthony last night.” “And you

believe her? She's full of bullsh*t!” Bianca accused. “Yeah. Why would someone say that she was

with Anthony if they didn't see them together?” Dorothy took her daughter's side. “Why didn“t she

answer her phone at noon if nothing happened?” Bianca questioned. “It has to be because she was

otherwise engaged.” “That's not it. She got drunk last night and left her phone with the CFO,” Nigel

explained. “She disappeared for the entire night and you are saying that it's all just a coincidence?

Dad, you just believe her more, right? Do you not care about how I feel?” Bianca sobbed. Nigel's

heart softened at the sight of his daughter crying. “Of course, not. When have I ever act like I don’t

care about you? How can you say something so hurtful?” “What exactly is going on?” Dorothy

asked, “You can't just believe that Anne is innocent because she said so, right? Nigel, you can't

blame us for doubting her. After all, she had done this before.”

“If you have proof, I will confront Anne,” Nigel said, “Anthony had made me a promise, and I trust

that he won't break it.”

"He did, but what if some woman tries whatever she can to seduce him? Dad, you and Mom have

just gotten to know Anne and you don't know what she is capable of. She used to plant herself in

the Royal Mansion shamelessly. You can ask any of the servants the mansion if you don't believe

me!” Bianca said. “It's in the genes. I'm not surprised,” Dorothy said sarcastically.

Chapter 388 Nigel's expression darkened. “I'm her father. Are you trying to insult me?” Dorothy

chuckled, “Nigel, you've been extremely sensitive since you arrived in Luton. You have only recently

gotten to know that Anne is your daughter, why are you taking this so personally?”

“Do not make claims when you have nothing to back them with. I am going back to the office.

“Nigel had hurried back home for lunch after learning about Bianca's tantrum, and had to rush back

After he left, Bianca and Dorothy remained seated on the couch. Dorothy noticed the fury on

Bianca's face and consoled her, “Your dad cares about you. He wouldn't have hurried back home

once he heard that you were upset.” “I don't want him to be fair. I want him to be on my side no

matter what.” Bianca was overwhelmed by rage and jealousy at the moment. “Of course! Your dad

raised you, and Anne is just an illegitimate child. So what if he has accepted her? She can't possibly

compare to you.” Dorothy was confident. “But are you sure about what happened last night?”

"Of course I am! Someone saw with their own eyes that Anthony took Anne away with him.” Bianca

stood with a vicious expression. She could not understand why Anne would be such a threat when

she was far superior in terms of looks and talents. Seeing how frustrated she was, Dorothy

suggested, “I'm just worried that your dad might start connecting with Sarah again through Anne.”

"What?" Alarmed, Bianca said, “will Sarah try to seduce him?”

“She won't have what it takes even if she tries.” Dorothy was confident that she would spend the

rest of her life with Nigel since she managed to get him to marry her once again all those years ago.

"What I'm trying to say is that children are important to men. Mothers of all time have all won their

entitlement and rights from giving birth to an heir. You've just gotten engaged to Anthony, and god

knows when you would actually get married! If you get pregnant, you won't be his fiance anymore,

but Mrs. Marwood!” Bianca quieted down hesitantly. “You haven't gotten pregnant yet. Is there a

problem?” Dorothy looked at Bianca“s belly with concern.

“What are you talking about?” Offended, Bianca said, “I'm perfectly fine! You can't just get pregnant

in one go!”

“I know you are fine. Work harder and be with Anthony when you are fertile. Once you are pregnant,

Anne will have no way of getting between you two.” “I will head back to my studio now.” Bianca left

the house and drove back thoughtfully. She did not know how to tell her mother that Anthony had

not touched her at all. He was busy, and so was she. When they finally had time to sit down and

have a drink, he would fall asleep

either listening to her playing the piano, or when they were talking. She knew that he was busy with

work, and tried to be understanding despite feeling sad about

it.

She could not bring herself to seduce him either, because she did not think she would have to with

her beauty, and was reluctant to degrade herself to acting like the likes of Anne.

Feeling more and more frustrated, she almost hit the car ahead of her, thinking, “So I need to find a

way to get Anthony to sleep with me so that I can bear his child?’

Anne took the keys to open the door and halted the moment she stepped into the apartment.

Tommy turned around with a smile. “Welcome back.”

Anne felt guilty for leaving after Tommy had saved her in the casino and walked over. “Where did

you get the key?”

"Oh, I had one duplicated from the spare key you hid under the plant. Any problem?”

"You...do you think it's okay if I do the same thing?”

"Yeah."

“You only think that because I won't do such a thing.” She tossed her purse onto the couch.” Thank

you for yesterday.” “You left with Anthony, didnt you?” Tommy asked coldly. Sensing that

something was wrong, she thought that he was upset with how unappreciative she was and

explained, “I didn't feel so well so I wasn't thinking.” “It's not that bad, is it?" She thought. “You

weren't thinking, or you desperately wanted Anthony to show up?” “Wha-" Before she could finish,

he darted toward her and shoved her onto the couch. “Ah!” She gaped when he placed his hand on

her stomach and lifted her clothes. His face twisted at the sight of all the marks throughout her

body and said, “You two went all out, huh?”

"Are you crazy?” Anne immediately pulled her clothes down and shoved at bir arms and shoulders.

Tommy held her in place. “Yeah. I heard that crazy people can get away from doing anything.”
