Chapter 764
Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies
Chapter 764
When Cory Lloyd saw the girl, his expression changed slightly.
Of course, he knew who this girl was. Corentin had already told him about it, and he had mentally
prepared for it.
Nevertheless, when he finally met her, it felt overwhelmingly heavy.
âDad, this is Anne, Nigel's daughter. Anne, this is Grandpa,â Corentin said.
Anne knew that she should be calling him Grandpa, but she could not bring herself to do it.
Cory pointed to the side and said, âTake a seat!â
After sitting down, Cory looked at Anne and said, âYou don't look much like your father.â
Seeing his own granddaughter, not only did he not express any enthusiasm, but he said something
like that.
Anne did not mind. She questioned, âDo you even remember what my father looks like?"
He did not ask a single thing about Nigel all these years, and he probably would not even need to
remember his face anymore!
"He is my son, I will never forget no matter how many years it has passed. I know you are blaming
me and feeling unjust for your father. However, the past can never be resolved easily,â Cory said.
âI came here to find out why.â Anne could not bring herself to like this old grandpa of hers. She only
cared about her father.
âYour father was a timid person, I did not like the way he handled things, and he did not see eye to
eye with me either. That was all.â
âNo way, my father is never a timid person. He is a righteous person, he has integrity, and he is
gentle. What did you mean by you did not like the way he handled it?â Anne rebutted.
âAs far as I know, he could not even handle his own wife and your mother. If this is not timid, I don't
know what is?"
âIt is because he cares about his own daughter. Plus, he did not know that I existed back then. This
was already unfortunate enough for him. Your immediate reaction, as a family, was to feel that he
was a timid person?â Anne felt that the old man before her was the less intelligent one. âYou did not
like that he was âtimid". That was why you threw him out? That was all?â
âHe did not want to stay,â Cory said briefly.
Anne was not convinced.
Could there be something that he could never tell her, given such a big and old family?
He had two wives himself. Could it be for this reason?
She reckoned her father, with his personality, would not have felt happy growing up in this family as
well.
She remembered the Marwood family.
"Was my grandma still around when my father left?â Anne wanted to pry from another perspective.
"She passed away due to illness. I was a father that he did not need. That's why he left home after
your grandma passed.â
âYou had two wives. Was it because of this?â Anne asked straight away.
âIt was not something uncommon for a man to have two wives. Naturally, it was not because of this.
It was just some trivial family matter. When you have your own family later, you will understand. I
have heard about your matter too. If you need me to stand up for you, just tell me. You should not
be bullied as a descendant of the Lloyd family.â
Anne did not want the Lloyd family to do anything for her at all. She said, âNo, thank you, I don't
need that for now. You know my father's wife, then you should know about his other daughter,
Bianca, shouldn't you?â
âI know, pianist, very excellent. However, I wanted to see you more. He has two daughters, but he
only gave his company to you. Now that I see you, I believe that you are capable enough to do it.â
Cory had seen many people in his life, but there were not many of them as fearless as Anne at her
age.
At least this girl was courageous and assertive.
âDid you not miss my father at all?â Anne asked.
Cory sighed. âOf course I did, but an adult should be responsible for all his choices.â
Anne understood that the old man in front of her was a very tough one, even if he was his own son
However, what about her father?
Even Dorothy and Bianca did not know about the Lloyd family.
Her father even changed his last name.
Corentin strode over. âIt's about time for dinner.â
Cory said, âLet's go.â When they arrived at the dining table full of dishes, he said, âYour father is
allergic to seafood. Therefore, so are you. So I made sure there was no seafood here. I hope it suits
your appetite.â
Anne was rather relieved to know that he still remembered her father's allergy.
That night, Anthony was having dinner with his business partner. However, he started to
feel unwell not long after the meal
That feeling was familiar, similar to the one he always felt whenever Anne could not satisfy him.
However, he had always been able to suppress it before. Now, he could not even resist it, and he felt
his blood boiling in his vessels.
Anthony did not say anything. He stood up and left the room.
