success after they decided to go, well, legal,” Anthony said.

Anne knew the history of Lloyd Group's development and everyone could tell how successful they

had become, but that had made the situation more complicated than she had imagined.

Corentin was not as harmless as he wanted to appear.

"She is Corentin’s legal wife now. It's best that we stay out of it,” Anthony said.

Anne was at her wits end. She did not know that they were married, but now that she did, she had

no clue on how to handle the situation.

“Should I force them to get a divorce or something?’ She thought to herself.

"Corentin came here specifically for Ashlynn. He's not about to give up.”

Anthony had only said a few words, but that was enough to shed light on what was truly happening.

The Lloyd Group was the head of Athetin and nothing good would come from crossing them. Anne

knew the limits to her abilities, and considering that the Lloyds were still Nigel's family by blood,

there was no reason for her to go up against them.

However, if she let Corentin do as he pleased with Ashlynn, Ashlynn would not stand a chance to

fight back.

"What if Cory Lloyd knows about this?” Anthony asked, “Or maybe he’s the one behind it all.” Anne

was instantly rendered speechless. If that was the case, outsiders would have no place to interfere

and Ashlynn had simply been caught in the middle of it.

"You don't have to lose hope that quickly,” Anthony said.

She bit on her lower lip, wondering if it was possible for Anthony to speak his mind at once so that

she did not have to feel so anxious.

“If Cory is behind it, he will definitely do whatever it takes to keep the truth from coming out, which

explains why he chased Ashlynn out. He won't let Ashlynn stay by Corentin’s side, so just let them

fight it out.”

At night, Anne made a call to Corentin and asked, “Can you let Ashlynn go? Even if you want to

marry her, you need to make sure that she is willing to marry you.”

"Anne, it's the first time I've met someone I like. I will treat her well. Don't worry. She won't find

another man better than me.” Corentin hung up and finished the wine in his glass, before sending

two photos to Ashlynn.

Meanwhile, in Anne's apartment, Ashlynn saw the photos in her phone and froze with a panicked

look on her face.

She immediately dialed Corentin’s number and asked frantically, “Why do you have my dog??"

"What do you think?”

“Please don't hurt it. I'm begging you...” Ashlynn knew just how monstrous Salvatore could be.
