“Two days, at most.”

Anne pursed her lips and held her breath

The next day, Anthony headed to Athetin in the morning while Anne remained in the Royal

Mansion.

News of Bianca's piano performance in Athetin had been announced the same afternoon and

Bianca was spotted in hotel in Athetin.

Anne sat by the grass field with her children and started sobbing all of a sudden.

She lowered her head in an attempt to hide her tears from others’ eyes.

“Anthony is in Athetin, and so is Bianca,’ she thought, “ are they together?”

Every breath she drew through her quivering lips felt depressing. Through her tears, she saw the

wedding band on her finger and the more she stared at it, the more it hurt.

At night, she laid alone in bed when her phone rang.

It was a call from Anthony, so she answered it and muttered, “Anthony...”

"Are you asleep?”

“Not yet...are you done with work?” Anne asked.

"Almost. I'll go home tomorrow. Miss me?” Anthony asked in a husky voice.

Anne felt chills running down her spine and hummed in response.

Anthony fell into silence.

"Anthony..."

Before Anne could finish, Anthony interrupted her. Hang on. Something happened. I'll call you back

later.”

He then proceeded to hang up before Anne could respond.

Anne leaned on Anthony's pillow with her phone in her hand. She waited for Anthony to call until

late at night and soon drifted off to sleep.

It was a sleepless night for Anthony. He traveled from near the Noxus River to the city area, and by

the time he arrived at the president suite, it was already seven in the morning.

He had not expected such a hectic schedule and took out his phone as he contemplated whether he

should call Anne.

Ivan thought that Anthony was considering the matter concerning the search and said, “Mr.

Marwood, why don't we seek Corentin’s help on this? He's more familiar with Athetin.”

East of the Noxus River was Athetin and Anthony had sent his men to look for Lilian after she fell

into the river.

Someone down the river rescued an injured woman shortly after, but the woman disappeared by

the time Anthony's men hurried to the scene.

It was confirmed that Lilian was still alive.

Anthony had to admit that Lilian's will to live was strong since she managed to survive through four

gunshot wounds.

"We've searched for a day and a night, so Corentin must be aware of what we've doing by now,”

Anthony said, * Corentin is not as simple as he appears to be.”

“But he is Mrs. Marwood's uncle, so he wouldn’t-" Before Ivan could finish, Anthony's phone began

to vibrate and Ivan instantly stopped talking.

Anthony answered the phone and Corentin’s voice came through the phone. “I heard that you are in

Athetin? Why didn't you tell me? I could have taken you around.”

“Let's have lunch later, then?” Anthony asked.

“Sure. I'll arrange it.”

After the simple exchange, the call ended.

"Was that Corentin?” Ivan asked

"Yeah."

“Do we need to send more men?”

“You will keep an eye on him,” Anthony said, hinting that there was no need to send more men.

Anthony and Corentin had only met in person briefly before and were hardly acquaintances.

However, Corentin was Anne's uncle and was actively working with Nigel's company, so Anthony

saw the need to know this man.

Corentin arranged the venue and reserved the entire restaurant, leaving no one in the hall apart

from the waiters.
