Chapter 153
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 153
Suzan lugged her suitcase into the yard, a wide grin plastered across her face as she called out, âEveryoneâs here already? Got held up with some stuff. Sorry for being late.â
What a small world.
That once roomy and bright yard suddenly felt restrictive and weighty. The silence hung heavy, like a brew fermenting in some mysterious cask, each component releasing its peculiar scent.
Selina looked helpless, her loyalties torn between two camps, making her the peanut butter in an awkward sandwich.
Devin glanced at Curtis, whose gaze settled on Leanne, prompting him to look her
too..
way,
Leanne was a portrait of calm, her gaze fleeting over Suzan without a hint of greeting or emotional ripple.
âI didnât tell her. I swear.â Devin immediately tried to absolve himself from blame.
Curtisâ expression was unreadable as he scolded, âInstead of standing there like a statue, go help with the luggage.â
Burned by past mistakes, Devin was overly cautious, finding Curtisâ thoughts inscrutable.
He glanced from Suzan to Leanne, paused for two beats, then edged closer and whispered, âJust to make sure, bro. Whose luggage am I supposed to grab?â
With a smack to the back of Devinâs head, Curtis replied, âGo get your brain checked, and
Iâll foot the bill.â
Relying on his questionable IQ and EQ, Devin stepped down from the porch and strode confidently into the yard.
Though heâd been discreet, the yard wasnât big, and Skyler and his crew stood beside
them.
If Curtis was ordering Devin to fetch luggage, it was clear whom it was for.
Everyone saw the situation, even feeling sympathetic about Leanne, the soon-to-be ex-wife.
Leanne knew it wouldnât be her luggage. She was unbothered, her mind as still as water.
Behind her, Suzan dragged her suitcase closer, preparing to hand it to Devin. âMineâs a bit heavyâ¦â
Before she could finish, Devin stopped beside Leanne, lifted her suitcase, and walked off.

Chapter 153
Suzanâs smile froze on her face.
Leanne was puzzled.
Everyone else was dumbfounded.
Selina and Joyâs heads came together, whispering in hushed tones.
âWhat the heck? Whyâs he taking Leanneâs suitcase?â asked Selina.
Processing the situation took Joy a moment, and finally she spit out, âDid Devin lose his mind?â
Leanne was puzzled, thinking Devin had made a mistake.
After a few steps, Devin halted and turned back. Amidst the strange stares, he asked Leanne, âHey, whatâs your room number?â
Leanne was doubly confused..
The others froze in bewilderment, some glancing at Curtis, suspecting Devin had shown misguided diligence.
However, Curtis didnât correct him. He turned his head slowly and glanced at the stunned Grace. âRoom number?â
Coming to her senses, Grace replied, âOh, Leanneâs room is on the far left, Room 109.â
Devin, suitcase in hand, made a left turn.
Still confused, Leanne followed.
Curtisâ gaze leisurely tracked her, and as she passed by him, he looked down and said, âCome see me after youâre all set up.â
Devin placed Leanneâs suitcase in her room, his demeanor as different as night and day, obedient as a little brother.
âOkay, Iâll get going then.â
Seeing the usually troublesome Devin being so compliant, Leanne couldnât directly ask if he was out of his mind.
âYou donât have to do that. Curtis and I are divorced.â
Devin retorted, âThatâs still up in the air.â
He knew Curtis inside out. If Curtis didnât want the divorce, it wouldnât happen.
âWhat did you say?â
Devin laughed it off. âNothing. Iâll leave you to it. See you around.â
