Chapter 155
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 155
Just then, the person they mentioned swung open the door and emerged from her room.
And she was right on the money. Suzanâs room was right across from Curtisâ.
Skyler and Grace were playing matchmaker.
Suzan caught sight of them and looked a bit stunned. Their posture was like flirting.
âEveryoneâs headed to the hot springs. What are you two up to here?â
Leanne thought Curtis would have the decency to at least pull back his leg with Suzanâs emergence, but he remained motionless. Right before Suzan, he was brazenly stopping her.
âJust sharing some secrets,â replied Curtis.
What kind of secrets need to be shared with that kind of body language?
Leanne didnât want to get involved in their drama, to unfairly bear the blame for wrecking. their relationship, nor did she want to be the kind of person she despised the most.
She glanced down at Curtisâ leg. âIâm five days away from getting our divorce papers. Can you keep your distance until then?â
Curtis didnât like that sound, his expression fading with the words âdivorce papers.â âOnly you would count the days. Wait till you have those papers, then Iâll keep my distance.â
Leanne frowned. âHave you no shame?â
âWhy do I need shame?â He retorted with a brazen lack of concern, âEven if I had the looks, you wouldnât care.â
Leanne was speechless.
Suzan, who had already passed them, stopped as if she remembered something. âOh, Curtis, you left your coat at my place last time. Iâve had it cleaned for you. You can pick it up when you head back.â
Leanne seized the opportunity to break free from Curtis and stepped back, establishing a clear boundary between them.
Curtis scowled, seizing Leanneâs wrist in a firm grip, refusing to let her leave.
In front of Leanne, he questioned Suzan. âWhat coat of mine would end up at your place?â âYou left in a hurry after the last reunion and forgot it,â Suzan replied openly, âMr. Scott told me to return it to you.â
âItâs just a coat. No need to make a fuss,â Curtis said, âJust toss it.â

Suzan glanced over his tight grip on Leanneâs Hand, hiding her irritation. âYou love to leave clothes behind. Iâve got a collection of yours by now.â
Her words carried a clear hint, intended for Leanneâs ears.
Leanneâs expression was sarcastic as she twisted her wrist, trying to break free, but
Curtisâ broad and firm hand held her fast.
She struggled, but he held on effortlessly.
Curtisâ tone was cold. âItâs just some clothing. Just throw them out. Since when did you start collecting trash?â
Suzanâs expression almost cracked.
âThat mouth of yours is quite infuriating. Leanne, how do you put up with him?â Suzan teased, acting as though she had a closer relationship with Curtis than Leanne did.
Leanne hadnât planned to engage with her, yet Suzan insisted on making trouble.
Leanne lifted her gaze, expressionless. âHeâs right. You do seem to love collecting trash.â
urtis narrowed his eyes, feeling the jab was directed at him.
Suzan hadnât expected Leanne to be so blunt before Curtis, and she was shocked, her face stiffening.
âLeanne, why would you say that?â She glanced at Curtis for support.
Curtis clicked his tongue, indicating his helplessness. âWhy did you provoke her? Sheâs a rebellious girl. I get an earful every day.â
Suzanâs face turned a shade paler, forcing a relaxed smile. âNever mind. I wonât get. involved in your argument. Better save my skin.â
After Suzan left, the hallway returned to silence.
want?â
âWhat do you Leanne asked impatiently.
âJust a question,â Curtis said.
With everyone else at the hot springs, only Leanne remained, halted by him, listening to the distant sound of flowing water and muffled laughter.
She glanced in that direction, and Curtis chuckled. âDonât rush. Iâll let you go after asking the question.â
âGo ahead.â
Curtis lowered his eyes, his gaze on her ambiguous for a moment, and then he asked, âWhy is it that every time Phillip came home, youâd go out to greet him, but when I came back, you never once did? Not even once.â

He emphasized particularly, âNot even once.â
There was a hint of jealousy in his tone.
Leanne was stunned by his question. It was about something that happened long ago, and the question itself was odd. What else could it be for?
