Chapter 187
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 187
The dinner party had just drawn to a close when Leanne stepped out into the cool night air with Joy and the others.
Jake had his car parked right at the entrance, and as if on cue, Jeremyâs ride pulled up
behind him.
Selina and Joy were whispering and giggling as they climbed into the car. Jeremy stood by his vehicle while Curtis lazily opened his door.
Both menâs gazes landed on Leanne as she hesitated, her foot poised mid-step.
Curtisâ fingers rested on the car door as he casually tossed a question her way, âArenât your going to ask for your idolâs contact?â
Leanne felt like her pulse was in his grip. Reluctantly, she played along.
Turning to Jeremy, she said, âWould you mind giving Joy a lift?â
Jeremy watched her walk towards Curtis, his expression unreadable. âSure,â he replied softly.
Once inside the car, Leanne pulled out her phone, determined not to be blackmailed any longer. âAdd it now,â she demanded.
Curtis glanced at her with those clear, penetrating eyes, and tossed his phone from his pocket to her lap, âDo it yourself.â
Leanne didnât know his password. Sharing such personal information was something. only trusting partners did, especially to access something as private as Twitter.
She didnât want to give him any more power over her.
Picking up his phone, she asked, âWhatâs your password?â
Curtis replied simply, âYour birthday.â
After entering the date and unlocking the phone, the wallpaper revealed a stunning from Echo Summit, with them standing side by side against the rising dawn.
It was intentional, Leanne realized. He wanted her to see it.
Her fingers hovered over the screen for a long moment before tapping the icon. Sheâd expected to search through a list, but there she was, her own profile picture pinned at the
top.
The nickname read, Anne
A turmoil stirred within Leanne, but it settled as she read this. They reminded her of the tough times, the heart-wrenching moments of sorrow.

She sent herself Larissaâs contact, added the friend, and handed the phone back to Curtis, her gaze shifting to the window.
He said he never loved Suzan, but Leanne didnât know what âAnneâ meant to him. Nevertheless, that name would remind her, keep her alert to the pain she once felt.
Curtis picked up the phone from his lap, âYou still donât seem happy.â
âIâm thrilled,â she replied, her voice still directed at the window.
Curtis looked at the back of her head, âYour happiness is so muted, I canât see it clearly.â Leanne retorted, âCanât I be someone whose emotions donât show on their face?â
Curtis chuckled, âYou? Not showing emotions? Youâre like a little firecracker around me, always so heated.â
Leanne fell silent.
âYou
and Joy are quite the pair, Curtis continued.
She ignored him all the way to her apartment building.
Curtis followed her out, donning his coat and trailing behind her leisurely toward the complex.
Leanne spun around, âWhy are you following me?â
âTo walk you up,â Curtis said, flipping up his collar.
âNo need. There are lights all the way, and Iâm not afraid,â Leanne said, stopping in her tracks, dreading the effort it might take to get rid of him later, âWhen youâre free, letâs go get our divorce papers.â
