Chapter 260
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 260
A sleek Mercedes screeched to a halt behind them. Before Devin could hear the rest of the conversation, he was already on his way over.
Joy jumped out of the driverâs seat, sporting a cheeky grin that screamed, âGotcha, didnât I?â She squinted her eyes and chuckled, âHello there, my admirer.â
Devin almost choked on his own words, gnashing his teeth, âLeanne, didnât we agree you
wouldnât tell her?â
âI canât betray my friend for you,â Leanne stated, her priorities clear. âI had to ask if she was even interested first.â
Why wouldnât Joy be interested? Sheâd love nothing more than to buy a billboard in downtown Stonebridge to announce that Devin, the rascal, was utterly smitten with her.
Strutting with an exaggerated swagger, Joy teased, âCome on then, letâs see how you plan to woo me today.â
Gritting his teeth, Devin muttered under his breath, âWoo you? Iâll woo you to death.â
He held his temper, turning to assist Leanne with the grace of a courtier attending to the queen, âLeanne, watch your step, thereâs a stain.â
The onlookers at the entrance were speechless.
Leanne, feeling overly pampered, withdrew her arm, âIâm not a baby. Stop fussing over
me.â
The crowd, a mix of locals and those whoâd ventured abroad or traveled extensively, found Devinâs solicitous behavior towards her baffling.
The other half were just as clueless about the situation, only aware of one thing that Mr. Curtis was now treating Leanne in a very special manner.
Respectfully, they greeted her with, âHello, Mrs. Richardson.â
The rest followed suit in greeting her.
For a moment, it felt like a scene out of a drama where the bossâ lady receives homage from the underlings.
Leanne wanted to correct them but caught sight of Suzan.
Suzanâs ambiguous expression turned into a forced smile upon meeting Leanneâs gaze.
Yet, Leanne couldnât even muster a superficial courtesy, promptly looking away.
The atmosphere turned awkward as everyone glanced around, unsure of how to act.
Having witnessed the drama unfold years ago, they were puzzled about who the real Mrs.

Richardson was now that the two women were together.
âLetâs go inside,â Devin called out.
The interior resembled a small cinema, adorned with floral decorations that added a romantic touch, though it lacked any birthday-related decor.
Chairs were arranged in staggered rows facing a massive screen, with the best seat in the house, marked with Leanneâs name, in the front and center.
Devin escorted Leanne to her seat, where a spread of fried chicken, pizza, fruit, iced tea, and juice awaited.
Leanne was confused, thinking this setup was for Joy, wondering why she wasnât seated in the place of honor.
Joy didnât let the details phase her as she popped an iced cola, scoffing, âReally? Your master plan to win me over is a movie night? Talk about basic.â
Devin retorted, âIf you donât like it, feel free to leave.â
âIs this how you pursue someone?â Joy snapped back, âYouâve got some nerve!â
Devin swallowed his frustration.
The crowd was clueless about Devinâs intentions, jesting, âWhatâs this? A marriage proposal setup?â
Joy immediately put her hands up in refusal, âChasing me is one thing, but proposing? No way!â
âRest easy, anyone proposing to you would be barking mad!â Devin snapped, dely, as he dimmed the lights.
The giant screen lit up, not with a movie, but with what appeared to be a talk Curtis, dressed in a sleek three-piece suit, walked into frame, his demeanor m a finance guru than a love-struck suitor.
Joy, confused, remarked, âChasing me with Curtis on screen? Whatâs the game he
Selina, suddenly insightful, said, âThis doesnât seem like a courtship.â
As Curtis appeared on screen, Leanne realized sheâd been duped.
Joy was merely a decoy. Devinâs real aim was to lure Leanne here.
