Chapter 323
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 323
The aroma of the sizzling barbecue tantalized Leanneâs appetite, her stomach rumbling
after a hectic day.
Jeremy slid the menu across the table as Leanne focused on making her selections. Suddenly, Selina pinched her arm sharply.
âQuick, look over there!â she whispered.
Leanne hissed in pain and followed Selinaâs gaze towards the entrance-
Joy and Austin walked in, hand in hand.
Selina went into a dramatic frenzy, clutching her head and yelled. âOh my God, help!â
Leanne chuckled, âWhy do you help because sheâs dating?â
âIâm just so excited! Seeing her holding hands with a guy is like watching Black Widow fall in love with Voldemort!â
What a comparison.
Joy, feeling a bit embarrassed as if she had touched a peach, tried to act cool and sat down. âWhat are you talking about? I saw your freak-out as soon as I walked in.â
Selina stuttered, âI didnâtâ¦â
Leanne couldnât resist teasing, âShe called you Voldemort.â
âWhat did you say?â Joy glared fiercely.
âJust a figure of speech,â Selina quickly backpedaled. âYou know Iâm good with words, expressing my shock through metaphor, nothing personal.â
Joy, unusually merciful today, decided to let it slide. âIâll spare your life this time.â
She then introduced Austin, who was exceptionally polite and even brought small gifts for the girls.
Impressed with Austinâs manners on this first meeting, Selinaâs eyes sparkled, âSo, whoâs paying for this meal?â
âI will,â Austin chimed in smoothly. âIâve been meaning to treat you girls.â
Joy slammed her hand on the table.
Selina jumped, âReally? Youâre upset heâs offering to buy us barbecue?â
âYou dolt,â Joy retorted. âIf I knew he was paying, we couldâve hit up joint.â

Selinaâs disappointment turned into admiration. âWe really are the most important to you.â

âDonât flatter yourself,â Leanne interjected. âFood is whatâs most important to her.â
Joy giggled, âYou know me too well.â
Despite being in a new relationship, Joy was keen on maintaining a refined image. She discreetly texted the girls under the table:
[Today, Iâm going for the demure look. Please, no trouble, especially no weird topics, okay?]
Selina understood immediately. [No worries, weâll guard your ladylike demeanor.]
Leanne calmly replied, [Relax, if you donât bring it up, no one will.]
Joyâs behavior was indeed more reserved than usual, and the gentlemen at the table were quite attentive, making the barbecue dinner exceptionally pleasant.
However, Selina was eager to gossip about how Joy and Austin got together, while Joy was curious about Leanneâs updates. They agreed to meet later at Golden Grove Manors for an all-night chat.
Leanne protested weakly, âI have work tomorrow.â
âWhatâs so important about work,â Joy, now high on the vibe of the meal, blurted out
without a filter, âWork on me.â
Leanne was speechless.
Jeremy cleared his throat as Selina pretended to look away in mock sympathy.
Joy, realizing what she just said, paused in the sudden silence.
Austin joked, âAm I being a bit of a third wheel here?â
After a moment of silence, Joy gave up the pretense, rolled up her sleeves, and reach into the pot for some food. âForget it, Iâm too tired to pretend.â
Selina sighed in relief, âIâm tired for you.â
