Chapter 355
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 355
After her shower, Leanne saw Curtis in the dining room, scrolling through financial news on his tablet.
As composed as usual, Leanne sat at the far end of the long dining table, quietly picking up a spoon to eat her oatmeal.
Curtis put down his tablet, about to call her over when his phone rang.
It was from Brian, the president of SolidAxis Engineering, and the conversation dragged on. When he finished, Leanne had eaten her breakfast and was ready to work.
He grabbed his coat to walk her out, descended the stairs to the parking lot, and opened the car door for her.
As Leanne hopped into the car, there was a slight awkwardness in her movements, like a âculpritâ making a reluctant return to the scene of the crime.
She sat far away from him, pressed against the car window, immediately engrossed in her phone, checking messages from her colleagues.
She avoided talking to him, avoided eye contact, and refused all forms of communication. Curtis called out to her, âCome here for a hug.â
Her response was firm. âNo.â
Curtis glanced at her distant profile. âWerenât you all about hugs last night, and now, youâve turned cold?â
âWhat are you talking about?â Leanneâs face flushed. âI donât know what you mean.â
Curtis raised an eyebrow meaningfully. âYou donât know? Maybe you can ask the seat what happened. Itâs a witness who saw everything last night.â
Leanne quickly reached to cover his mouth, whispering a warning. âDonât talk nonsense.â
Curtis caught her hand and gently kissed the palm. âThen donât deny it.â
âIâm not,â Leanneâs ears turned red.
She regretted not drinking enough the night before. Why did she remember everything so clearly?
When arriving at the hospital, her face finally cooled down.
âMy daughter made this for me at school. Itâs pretty, right?â Donna eagerly showed Leanne the handmade flowers when they reached the office.
The little flowers looked naive and childlike. Leanne complimented sincerely, âSo cute.â

âItâs for Motherâs Day. She brought it home secretly yesterday and gave it to me this morning. Oh, it moved me to tears.â
âToday is Motherâs Day?â Leanne asked.
âYeah,â Amy yawned, having worked the night shift, âI bought my mom some jewelry.
half a monthâs salary.â
There goes
Since her parents had passed, Leanne had felt indifferent about such days, having no one to give gifts to.
She thought it over and sent Curtis a message to remind him:
[Today is Motherâs Day. Donât forget to do something nice for Jennifer.]
She had always addressed Jennifer by her name since she knew Jennifer didnât consider her a daughter-in-law. After marrying Curtis, she kept addressing Jennifer the same, and their relationship remained distant.
On such a day, she probably wasnât on Jenniferâs list of expectations, and she wouldnât
bother too much.
Leanne ordered a bouquet of carnations for Larissa, who was filming in a mountainous region.
She hadnât heard back all day, guessing Larissa was busy filming or that the flowers hadnât reached her due to the remote location.
Even if Larissa never received them, it didnât matter much to Leanne. The flowers were a gesture of care.
Just before leaving work, she unexpectedly received a call from Larissa.
âAnne, Iâm in Stonebridge. Can you meet me?â
Leanne was surprised. âOf course, but arenât you supposed to be filming in the mountains?â
âI got your flowers,â Larissa said. âItâs been years since I got flowers on Motherâs Day. Suddenly, I wanted to see you.â
Leanne could hear a hint of melancholy in her voice, probably missing her daughter.
âIâm about to finish work. Where are you? Iâll come to you.â
Later that evening, after Curtis finished a meeting with clients, he returned to the
Richardson Manor.
