Chapter 366
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 366
Curtis cracked a grin, âFunny. I came here today to pay you back.â
David didnât buy it for a second. Who the hell pays back money like this?
âMan, what are you really up to?â
âHow much does Carl owe you?â Curtis asked.
David clenched his teeth, âThree⦠no, a million,â
âYou know his financial situation as well as I do. You could sell his organs and still wouldnât scrape together a million.â
David was utterly confused, âDude, Iâm not the sharpest tool in the shed. Can you just spell
it out for me?â
âDonât sell yourself short, even a complete idiot can be useful,â Curtis encouraged. âYou guys are pros at debt collection. Iâll give you two weeks to find Carl, and Iâll settle his debt of a million, plus interest.â
After work, Leanne stopped by the Richardson family estate.
As she entered, Jennifer was just coming downstairs, instructing the maid to make some ginger tea to take up to Phillip.
âDid Phillip catch a cold?â Leanne asked.
Jennifer replied, âTinaâs with him. He accidentally fell into the water yesterday and caught
a chill.â
Leanne just nodded.
C
She knew that in Jenniferâs eyes, Tina was a more satisfactory daughter-in-law than
Suzan.
âYouâre back just in time,â Jennifer continued. âThe chicken soup in the kitchen is ready; I was about to have someone bring it to you.â
Leanne was a bit surprised, âThanks.â
âDonât mention it.â Thinking she came to visit her grandmother, Jennifer said, âMary visited Mr. Perez. She wonât be back for a while; Iâll have the driver take you there.â
Leanne replied, âI didnât come to see Mary today.â
She stood there, silently looking at her until Jennifer realized she had something to say and dismissed the maid bringing in the tea.

âHave a seat.â
Leanne sat down on the couch. The freshly brewed tea before her sent up wisps of steam, aromatic and inviting. Absentmindedly, she twisted her fingers together.
It was uncomfortable, so even asking took courage. âDid Carl ever ask you for money?â
Jennifer paused slightly, âWhy do you ask that all of a sudden?â
So it was true.
âThat was a long time ago,â Jennifer explained. âYou were still in school. He somehow got my number, even found your school. At first, it was ten thousand, a few tens of thousands, threatening to take you away. I didnât want him to harass you, so I gave him money a few times initially.â
So it wasnât just once⦠He wasnât just brushed off; he had latched onto the Richardson family out of greedâ¦
Leanne felt like a slap swung years ago, carrying shame fermented for all that while, just landed on her face today.
âEventually, I used some measures to teach him a lesson, got hold of something that could land him in jail, and he finally backed offâ
Jennifer didnât want Leanne to harbor any resentment after all these years, so she added, âLeanne, I hope you can understand my actions. Donât think Iâm heartless towards your family. People like him are never satisfied; indulging them is like feeding into a
bottomless pit, waiting for a disaster to happen.â
Leanne squeezed her fingertips, âI understand. Iâm sorry for the trouble.â
âItâs all in the past, no need for such words.â
Leanne nodded, paused for a moment, then lifted her calm eyes to meet Jenniferâs. why you never liked me?â
