Chapter thirty four
His Mate: Prince Asher
Gideon and Jasper went to the woods surrounding the school to meet with a warrior they had there waiting for them so that they can take news back to his father. They appeared in the woods but they soon felt like someone was following them and turned sharply only to meet the same boy as earlier. His blue eyes were staring at them like he could look deep into their soul. Gideon frowned, he couldnât understand his feeling with that boy and why he feels fear whenever his eyes landed on him. âIs there a problem?â
Asher glanced from one boy to the other, and his eyes went back to the black haired one. âI was about asking the same thing. Who are you?â
âWe are the freshmen, everyone knows that. Unfortunately, we did not expect to resume on the day they would be two deaths. Why?â Gideon asked. If in the morning, he thought the boy was just a curious human, now he is thinking he is a suspicious one. What if he was the one that killed the innocent girls and now its on high alert to know what anyone would be thinking and doing. âWhy are you here?â
Asher never planned on replying and was actually thinking of how to get the boys to reveal their identities when he sensed the cops driving into the vicinity. His head turned sharply and without a word to the boys, he turned and walked away.
Gideon and Jasper shared a look and Jasper said in the mind link. âItâs the cops. Do you think he is a suspect? Maybe he worked with that Naomi of a girl?â
Gideon shook his head. âEven if he is a suspect, I donât think he worked with Naomi. From what I was able to gather this morning, Naomi was nicknamed Psychic because of how she always predicts things. The only difference from now and before was that this is the first time she was talking about deaths and it came to pass. I have every reason to believe that she is the one that we are looking for. The criteria to finding her is that she had the ability to predict future. She just saw what would happen like the woman had said.â
Jasper nodded after hearing Gideonâs explanation. âLetâs go, I need to send news to my father.â Gideon said and they continued traveling into the woods.

âNaomi Clayman,â the principal called as he stepped into the classroom, bringing everyoneâs, including the teacherâs attention to Naomi. âPlease come with me. You are needed.â
Naomi bit her lips and stood up, her eyes going around the classroom sharply to search for Asher only for her to discover that they werenât having the same class. But she saw Tiana who smiled and offered her support. She took the smile with a nod and walked to the front of class, feeling everyoneâs gaze on her. The principal turned then and walked out of the class with Naomi behind him. As they walked to his office, he said, âyour father just arrived, he said he got news that two of his friends went to the woods last night and have not returned. They have been searching for them since morning and still nothing. Did you happen to see what happened to them too?â
Naomi shook her head softly but she didnât know if he saw her or not. She was lost in thought. Last night, Asher had left her in the cave and when he came back, he told her that her father had left and then before he left her room, he had said he wouldnât remember what happened last night. Did he do something to the men?
âI am asking you, Miss Clayman,â the principal stopped and turned to her and she was forced to look up at him. âDid you happen to see what happened to the men?â
âNo sir.â
âAnd yet you said you see things?â
âI only see things when I come in direct contact with the person. Like I told you earlier, Trisha had touched me yesterday, that was why I saw hers. I donât talk to my fatherâs friends, how was I supposed to see theirs?â
âHmm,â the principal stared at her and nodded once before turning to continue with his walk. âAlright then, I guess they would be the best judge in this matter,â he said just as he pushed open the door to his office and inside were seated five men and two women. Two of the men, Naomi could tell they were cops and the rest of the three men were her father and Trishaâs and Rebeccaâs fathers and so of course, the women would be their mother. She gulped as her eyes met with her fatherâs who looked at her with a raised eyebrow, silently asking her what happened. âGentlemen, Naomi Clayman.â The principal said, walking over to his desk.
âEvil child, you killed my daughter, you killed my daughter,â one of the women rushed Naomi then and grabbed her on the hair, pulling her around until one of the cops stood up and stopped her. Sheltering Naomi behind him.
âLeave her let her teach her a lesson. Nothing she does to her would ever amount to our daughters lives she took from us.â The other woman said.
âWe will settle this with law. As a matter of fact, there is no evidence that Miss Clayman hurt your daughters. You will need to calm down and let the cops do their job.â The officer said and then turned to Naomi when he suspected the grieving mothers were calm. âMiss Clayman, I am Detective Cage, and over there is my partner, Detective Marshall. We would like to speak to you about Miss Harris and Miss Richieâs deaths. Do you have the time?â
Naomi sniffed and nodded once, all the while wishing she had her hoodie on. If only she hadnât tried to dress up for Asher, maybe she wouldnât be so open like this. She thought.
âGood,â Detective Cage said and went to seat back on his chair. âWe heard that you loudly broadcast to Miss Trisha Harris yesterday in the students lot that she would die if she went on that joyride. Can you please tell us how that was possible?â
Naomi sniffled and glanced up at her father before staring at the cops. âI always see things before it happens.â
âHow so?â Detective Marshall asked.
Naomiâs hands were tightening in strong fists as she fought to control herself and stop herself from crying. âIt started from when I was little. I could predict things before it happened. My middle school teachers will tell you more because it started then.â
âDidnât it stop?â Cage asked, âfrom what I have here, you repeatedly said that it had stopped and that you donât see things again. Did it start again?â
âIt never stopped, I just stopped talking.â She replied, her eyes going to her father.
âOh Naomi, you told me it stopped,â Larry said.
âBecause you always hit me every time I tell you about it,â she sniffled. âAnd everyone was calling me a Psychic and no one wants to play with me anymore and so I lied that it stopped, hoping things would get back to normal and it never did. Everyone still loathes me in school but then, I can mind my business without everyone wanting me to foresee their future sarcastically.â
âSo, you have been seeing things and keeping to yourself?â Marshall interpreted and she nodded. âThen why did you speak up yesterday? Why did you tell Trisha that she would die. From what I have here, you are guys are not friends and Trisha always bullies you. She actually started your nickname Psychic from your middle school. How are we to know that you really saw her death and not you working to kill her to do away with one bully?â
âIf I had wanted to kill Trisha, I would have kept quiet but I actually wanted to save her. No matter how much I hate her, itâs not worth her life.â
âLiar, you killed her!â Trishaâs mother yelled at her, hot tears trailing down her cheeks.
âMrs. Harris, please calm down, let us settle this.â Cage said to her and turned to Naomi, âso you spoke up for the first time in years to save your bullyâs life?â
âCan I be honest with you, Detective?â she asked and he nodded. âIf I had thought things through, if I had known she would stubbornly go for that ride and you will be here questioning me like this, I would have kept quiet like I did with Jeremy.â
Cage frowned, âJeremy, Jeremy Hidalgo?â he asked to be sure but Naomi said nothing. âYou saw Jeremyâs death?â
Naomi burst into tears eventually. âI spoke up because I havenât forgiven myself for him. I spoke up because I always thought that if I had told him, maybe he would still be here. I didnât want history to repeat itself and so I told Trisha despite how much I hate her. I donât care if you believe me or not but I have told you the honest truth and beat me or do anything to me, you wonât get more than that. That is all I know.â
âPlease donât listen to this girl. She killed my daughter. I donât believe this nonsense she is spewing here.â Trishaâs mother yelled.
Marshall turned to her, âwould you like to handle this case then, Mrs. Harris?â he raised an eyebrow.
However, right before the woman could answer, the door was pushed open and Asher walked in with burning red eyes.
