Chapter 11- Amara

After a lot of growling and shouting, we all settled down on the living room couch. The dinner lay

forgotten. Caleb and Carter were growling lowly in their throats from time to time. The tension in

the room could be cut with a butter knife but no one looked more irritated and angry than Alec.

"So?" Alec hissed when I didn't say a word.

"Well three days ago... or was it four...” Alec glared at me when I stopped to count the days. "Okay

so it was Asher’s birthday. That much I remember. I wasn't feeling well since the night prior to his

birthday. I don't know why but I felt weak. In the morning, I called Asher but till then a light pain

had started in my chest. I don’t know if it was physical pain or something else but I felt these sharp

pains in my chest. The day went by and as I was not feeling well, we, that is Aaron and I cancelled

our plan to go out and stayed at home to watch movies. At seven or so I went downstairs to pick up

our pizza delivery but the pain became more prominent and I felt a little dizzy. But Aaron was in the

bathroom so there was no one to get the pizza. I went downstairs alright. I mean not alright but at

least I could walk. The pain was bearable. But as I started ascending the stairs the sharp pains

intensified and on the landing it just went through the roof. I think I screamed bloody murder.” I

said embarrassed. “I crawled my way up and started walking to our apartment door but the pain

was killing me. I couldn't see properly as the pain was that much agonising. I reached the door and

passed out. Steven, our neighbour had heard me scream so came to check and I fell in through his

door thinking it was mine. He called Cassidy to check me up as she is a doctor and so is Grayson.

When I woke up, they told me I was out for three days.”

After I finished I looked up at the people sitting in front of me. Alec looked to be in shock. Caleb

and Carter on the other hand looked mad and disgusted. What did I do?

"You know what is happening to her don’t you?” Cassidy asked them

“Yeah.” Caleb gritted out and Carter nodded.

They looked quite ashamed.

"What do you mean by that?” Alec asked.

“She has to find that out herself. I won't be telling her anything and neither will you two.” Cassidy

said firmly.

She looked quite dangerous for a women that size. The twins nodded and looked away, avoiding

eye contact with me. What are they hiding from me? What is happening to me? Am I dying?

“Is anyone going to tell me anything? Why does my sister look like she is withering every second?”

Alec shouted frustrated.

“You will have to wait till tomorrow.” Grayson said “You are going to the cabin tonight right?”

Grayson asked shocking the hell out of me. “I am a warlock Amy. I can penetrate your mind if I want.

We just can't get to the memories of the people living at the cabin. We know you don't live there

alone.”

"How?..Wait...what are you up to? Why do you keep bringing my cabin in everything?” I asked

suspiciously.

What is up with these two?

“You will find out tomorrow.” Cassidy replied.

“But...”

“No.” Cassidy cut me. “The dinner will get cold.”

She got up, marched to the kitchen and the others followed leaving me and Alec behind. We looked

at each other frustrated and followed them. What are they hiding? Am I really dying? What is

happening to me and how does Carter and Caleb know about it? She said about this being an effect

of something. What could cause me so much pain? Well she said I will find out tomorrow. I can’t do

anything but wait for tomorrow.

Dinner passed in a tense environment. Nobody talked or took their eyes away from their plates.

After that I took a shower and put on my jacket to go to the cabin. Alec looked reluctant to let me

go alone but Caleb and Cassidy talked him out of it. As soon as I reached the edge of the forest I

contacted Ryder to pick me up as I am in no condition to walk all the way to the cabin. I walked a

little inside the edge of the forest so that no one will see Ryder with me. Well no one can see him

but one can’t be cautious enough.

After a couple minutes a massive wolf spirit appeared in front of me making me halt my steps but

the one thing I didn't expect is that said wolf spirit fuming as hell fire. Who bit his tail now?

"Umm... Ryder?"

He just huffed and then gave me a once over.

"Ryder you alright?" I asked.

Did I do something wrong?

"If you want I can come over later.” I whispered biting my lip to stop myself from crying.

Not him too. I can't take this. Asher is mad at me. Aaron is acting distant. Papa is dying and now

Ryder is mad at me. I can't take this anymore. Out of nowhere Ryder pulled me closer. I buried my

face in his neck, hugging him back and my dams broke down.
