Chapter 1116
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Sophie walked out of Odieâs study with a stack of documents, and from the top of the staircase, she spotted Timothy standing awkwardly downstairs.
He looked utterly clueless about what he was supposed to do.
Without missing a beat, Sophie took charge. âTimothy, you can start by preparing lunch. But here at Mr. Odieâs house, all meals are made from fresh ingredients. So, youâll need to drive to the farmers' market three kilometers away for vegetables, then head to the seafood market 3.8 kilometers away for seafood, and finally, visit the butcher five kilometers away for fresh meat before coming back to cook.â
Timothy looked at her, speechless.
âAnd after lunch, we have half an hour to eat. Post-lunch, youâll wash the dishes, do the household chores, prepare the afternoon tea, and at three, youâll need to go out and shop for dinner ingredients. After dinner, youâve got an hour to clean up, ensure each room has hot water, and prepare the warm milk before bed. By the time youâre done, itâll be around ten, and youâll need to start prepping for tomorrowâs breakfast. The Minton family breakfast has twelve different mini quiches, mostly Western-style, so itâs a bit of a hassle. I suggest you hit the sack right at ten.â
Timothyâs brow furrowed deeply. There were clearly other servants in the Minton household, but Sophie was dumping all this on him alone.
Was she deliberately making things hard for him?
âIf you think you canât handle this, Timothy, youâre free to leave. S Corporation wonât need you, and weâll consider my previous offer void.â
Sophieâs tone left no room for argument.
Timothy took a deep breath. âI can handle it.â
âGood, get to it then.â
Sophie turned and went back to her room.
Meanwhile, Sandy and Angelo had been eavesdropping from the second floor, watching the whole scene unfold.
They had no idea where this new kid had come from, but it was clear Sophie was making things ridiculously tough.
Who treats a servant like that?
âHey, donât we usually skip breakfast?â Sandy whispered.
âYup, we usually sleep right through it,â Angelo replied, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

They decided to call James to get to the bottom of it.
Angelo pulled out his phone, ready to dial James when Sandy, curious as ever, asked, âBro, what are you doing?â
âI...â
As Angelo glanced at Jamesâs contact, Sandy caught a glimpse. âWeird, why do you have Jamesâs number? Whatâre you calling him for?â
âItâs for business. You wouldnât understand. Iâll make the call in private. And donât mention a word about what just happened, or else...â
Angelo made a throat-slitting gesture.
Sandy rolled her eyes. What was so secretive about calling James?
Angelo retreated to his room and dialed Jamesâs number. James picked up almost immediately. âIs something wrong with Sophie?â
âBig bro, can you not start every call by asking if someoneâs in trouble? Even if there wasnât an issue, youâd jinx it into happening!â
Jamesâs voice was cool. âIâve told you, unless itâs about Sophie, donât contact me. We shouldnât keep in touch too often.â
âItâs not that. Today, Sophie brought home a teenager, around seventeen or eighteen, and he seems decent enough. But it looks like he tampered with Sophieâs car.â
