Elodie raised an eyebrow. “You’re making a bold move, Ms. Sophie. Do you even know how much we’ve lost?”

“It doesn’t matter. I can cover it,” Sophie said, her confidence unwavering. “You need money, and that 10% share is all you’ve got of value. I can get the funds to you quickly, without any haggling. It’s a win-win.”

Elodie’s eyes flickered with interest. “Alright, I’ve lost two billion. If you can transfer that to my account within three days, the shares are yours.”

“Consider it done,” Sophie agreed without hesitation.

Elodie frowned, suspicious. “I remember you saying you weren’t interested in Burke International’s shares. Why the change of heart?”

“That’s my business,” Sophie replied smoothly. “Right now, I’m helping you out, hoping we can let bygones be bygones and maybe even become friends.”
