Sophie was curious, just as she was about to open the little cloth bag in her hand, Odie grabbed it quickly, saying, “I told you, wait until we get to Summerfield to open it.” Odie seemed pretty serious, so Sophie decided not to press the issue. “Alright, I’ll wait until we’re at Summerfield. Happy now?” she replied. “Yeah.” Sophie took the cloth bag Odie had given her and headed upstairs.

Packing for Summerfield was easy; she just needed to gather a few essentials. The thought of her last trip there with Colby made her shake her head, trying to push away the memories of him. But the harder she tried, the more she remembered how Colby used to handle everything. All she had to do was trust him, and she didn’t have to lift a finger.

By evening, Sophie had landed. At Summerfield Airport, someone from Kena’s team was already waiting to pick her up. Kena, looking stunning in a flowing purple dress, appeared even more elegant than before.

“Ms. Sophie, I’ve already sorted out your accommodation. The Gibbs family might not be as powerful as the Mintons, but the place is still pretty nice,”

Kena said, inviting Sophie into the car.

Sophie replied, “I’ve talked it over with Odie, and I’ll be staying with the Minton family tonight.” Hearing this, Kena nodded, “That’s fine, but the Minton's place hasn’t been used or cleaned for a while. I’ll get someone to tidy it up so you can be comfortable.”

Sophie shook her head, “No need, it’s just one night. It won’t be too much trouble.” Seeing Sophie’s determination, Kena didn’t push the matter.

After not seeing her for a few days, Kena looked every bit the refined heiress of Summerfield. She wasn’t the timid Polly anymore but the confident CEO of the Gibbs family.

“What’s the Spellman family aiming for with this banquet?” Sophie asked directly. Kena replied, “Nothing much, just flexing their muscles. The Spellman family struck gold recently, bagging several projects and branching out into new ventures. Their future looks promising, and many businesses in Summerfield are now gravitating towards them, even some that used to side with the Mintons are starting to shift.”

Kena’s face showed her unease. She had been troubled by this for days, and Sophie noticed her concern. Sophie asked, “Has the Spellman family been giving the Gibbs family a hard time?”

“With the Mintons backing us, we’re managing,” Kena said, “But I think the Spellman family’s invite is mostly to boast.” It was clear the Spellmans wanted to flaunt their newfound status.

Kena mentioned that the Spellman family had been laying low for a while, as if they’d been blessed with some divine help. It had to be because of The Silent Shadows’ influence.
