Chapter 186
Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)
Why didn't Sophie look at him the way she used to?
The more James thought about it, the crazier he felt.
Meanwhile, Sophie, who was still working overtime at the corporation that evening, suddenly sneezed.
"Are you alright?" Colby frowned.
It was just the two of them in the office at the moment.
Adler and Jenna had gone out. Sophie had been interning at Palmâs Jewels during the day, so she only managed the various corporate projects in the evenings.
"I might have caught a cold."
Sophie sipped her hot tea. She had been really overworked lately, with no time to relax.
"If you're feeling unwell, you should skip the family dinner tomorrow."
Sophie had been using the excuse of injuries from a car accident to avoid attending the monthly Russell family dinners for the past three months, but this time, she had to go.
Sophie shook her head. "I still need to go. I donât feel too bad. It might just have been a chill. Donât worry about me."
Colby raised an eyebrow. "You know I'm worried?"
Sophie blushed.
"I thought you didnât realize. I sent you that ginger tea, but Jenna told me you havenât touched it."
"I donât like ginger tea..." Sophie murmured softly.
"The weather is getting cooler. Ginger tea is good for your health."
While saying that, Colby pulled out a packet of ginger tea from his office drawer and began to make some for Sophie.
"Let me do it." Sophie reached out to take it, but the ginger tea was so hot that she withdrew her hand.
Colby saw her reaction and showed a small smile. "I've got it."

"Okay." Sophie agreed almost without thinking.
Colby hadnât expected Sophie to agree so quickly. "Arenât you afraid Iâll whisk you away?"
"Nah. I know my way."
Sophie could not look into Colbyâs eyes. She remembered clearly rejecting him before, but each time, it seemed like Colby hadnât heard her.
Eventually, Colby didnât seem to pursue her in any obvious way, and their interactions remained normalâsometimes even less frequent than her chats with Adlerâso she stopped minding.
However, Colby volunteering to pick her up definitely meant something.
If Colby didnât say much, she wouldnât ask more.
At the family dinner the next day, Sophie arrived early.
Perry saw Sophie and immediately greeted her with a smile. âSophie, youâre finally back. Howâs your injury?â
Sophie glanced at Isaac, who was sitting not far away on a sofa and smiled, saying, âItâs all healed now, Uncle Perry. Thank you for your concern.â
