Chapter 28
Unfortunate Friends 1: My Best Frenemy
Andrew
I was feeling happy. ~Really~ freaking happy for once.
We played awesome in the game, snatching back a win at the last minute.
And now, we are driving to my favorite ice cream parlor, and I am watching Gina, ~fucking~ ~ice queen herself,~ Evans sitting in the back of my Jeep happily playing a very easy game of eye spy with my two baby sisters.
She has a content smile on her face as she incorrectly guesses Sammyâs something beginning with C.
This is the kinda girl I want as a girlfriend. Not having to choose between spending time with my sisters and my girlfriend, but finding a girl who enjoyed spending time with them too.
Gina shifts slightly in her seat, causing her shorts to gape a little at the leg. I can just see the white cotton panties sheâs wearing up the gap, making me shift in my seat as blood starts rushing down to my little friend.
~Goddammit, why does she have to wear those things?! So innocently sexy~.
She catches where my gaze is in the mirror and quickly crosses her legs with a scowl. I smirk, shrugging in apology.
Iâm beginning to think my sisters are secretly trying to play matchmaker as they pile into one side of the booth together, meaning I have to sit squashed up next to Gina.
Not that Iâm complaining. Her soft skin warms mine where our legs touch, and every time she moves, I get a waft of her vanilla scent.
But then she decides to moan in near orgasm when she takes a spoonful of her cookie dough ice cream, slowly licking the remains from the plastic spoon.
~Fuck!~ I nearly come in my shorts! Iâd love to bend her over and be responsible for making her make that noise all night long. I could put that tongue to better use too.
We spend the rest of the time entertaining Sammy and Lottie, interspersed with lots of sideways glances at each other when we think theyâre not looking.
Every time I catch her eye, Gina blushes and looks away.
~Maybe she is thinking about me too?~
~
Our pseudo-date is over all too quickly, and I drop her back at the school so she can pick up her car.
âWellâ¦thanks for the ice cream, AJ.â She smiles shyly. âIt wasnât altogether awful spending time with you and your sisters.â
âHey! My sisters are freaking adorable, and you know it.â I grin back at her.
âYeah, yeah.â She turns and pulls open her car door. âShame about their big brother, huh?â Her pink tongue pokes out at me before she flashes a grin and disappears into the blue VW.
I stand grinning like an idiot until Sammy rolls down the window and shouts at me to take them home.

âDude, who are you thinking of taking to prom?â Drew throws himself down on my bed upside down, so his blonde hair just touches the carpet.
PJ already asked Katy at a romantic dinner last week, and Jake is planning on asking Layla when he takes her on a date this weekend.
âI dunno. I might not go.â
âDude! Youâve gotta go! You are so gonna be crowned prom king.â Drew twists over, sliding off onto the floor in a pile of limbs and sheets with a thump. âYou canât not go!â He looks at me wide-eyed.
âYouâre such an idiot.â I shake my head, laughing.
Drew untangles himself and sits back on the bed properly. âWell, Iâm thinking of asking George.â
âYou gone gay, dude? Is this you coming out?â
Drew smirks and shakes his head. âNah, man. ~George~. As in Gina.â
I choke on the mouthful of soda Iâd just taken.
âI mean, sheâs pretty fucking cool. Funny. And smoking hot.â
I wipe my mouth and stare at him incredulously. âDude. She shot you down pretty hardcore when you went on that date with her. Do you really wanna put yourself back out there again?â
âBut that was before I knew sheâd had boy trouble before. I can be a much better date for her now.â
âThatâs putting it fucking lightly,â I mumble quietly. Jake and PJ reappear back from the kitchen at that moment, arms laden with junk food.
âWhatcha boys talkinâ bout?â PJ dumps the pack of cookies into Drewâs lap and sits down next to him.
âWho weâre going to prom with.â Drew makes quick work of the wrapper, shoving three cookies into his mouth like some kind of blonde cookie monster. âIâm asking George.â
His words are muffled by the mush in his mouth.
âMy George?â Jake looks at me.
I scowl back at him, shrugging. âYeah. Apparently, things will be better this time because now Drew knows sheâs had âboy trouble.ââ
âThatâs putting it fucking lightly!â Jake exclaims.
I chuckle.
âDude. Thereâs ~no~ way sheâs gonna say yes to you.â
I feel a slight sense of hope. ~Maybe I could ask her?~
~
âSheâs not gonna say yes to anyone.â He continues with a lift of his shoulders. âSheâs scared Macy and Robyn are planning some Carrie-typa shit. Yâknow, blood drenching shiz.â
PJ wrinkles his nose. Heâs so fucking squeamish.
âOh.â Drew looks lost in thought for a minute. âWell, maybe Iâll ask that girl Racheal from geography instead.â
He and PJ get involved in another drawn-out conversation about the eligible girls in our year. I lean over to speak in Jakeâs ear.
âIs she really not gonna go because sheâs frightened theyâll do something?â
âYeah.â He shakes his head sadly. âI canât believe Iâm finally at the same high school as her, and I still wonât get to go to prom with her.â
I sit back, an idea slowly forming.
