Bonus chapter 1: A new chapter

~Kelsey's POV~

It's been  1 year since that day at the basketball game where Ethan and I got back together.

How are things going?

Well, we certainly had our downs, but we had a lot more ups. We're both in different colleges and it's really hard for us to see each other, but before we left we remembered how hard it was for the both of us to stay away from each other when I went for New York so we decided to try the whole long distance thing.

It's working so far.

My dad found a job in a place that's only 2 hours away from my college. When I was still at home he used to stay there for the week then come back during the weekends. He even got an apartment there a couple of months later as he got tired of staying in hotels. I didn't want to move from my house to the apartment because I loved our house so we stayed with our old agreement, him being away for the week and coming back on the weekends.

Meg and Jake ended up going to the same college and moving in together. It all happened so suddenly. It was the last day of High School, after we graduated from High school. He did a really cute thing for Meg and I later learned that it was all thanks to Ethan who gave him the idea, but it was all Jake's work.

Jake and Meg were going to two different colleges, they were even going to break up...That is before Jake did what he did.

It feels like only yesterday.

I look over to the collage of pictures we took on our graduation day, and I couldn't help smile at the memory.

*Flashback to graduation*

Jake decided to say a few words after everyone graduated. Everyone was already emotional but they wanted to know what he had to say.

"It seems like only yesterday, I entered through those doors for the first time. I was scared but I knew that I had my best friend, Ethan Walker, by my side. Together we could have done anything, at least he made me feel like that" He says as Ethan chuckles beside me.

"I never would have imagined to be this happy here. I no longer had just Ethan, but I had amazing friends" He says sending me a smile.

"I ended up being friends with people I never thought I would be friends with" He chuckled looking at Aaron and Leah as they let out a small laugh. They were both crying by now which made me almost cry.

After school started, our friends group certainly grew. Aaron and Ethan made truce and Meg and I decided to let Leah join our group again.

That reminds me, Jenna ended up leaving with Zack. No surprise there really. And hey guess what?

She got pregnant.

She was too ashamed to come back.

However, and this surprised me. Zack decided to stay with her and take care of her and their baby. It would be a sweet thing if they weren't both crazy.

"Most importantly, I got an amazingly beautiful girlfriend" He says looking at Meg who was full on crying. Seeing your best friend cry kind of does something to you as I started crying right after looking at her.

Ethan put his arm around me and kissed my forehead before sending me a small smile, which I quickly returned. It kind of made me sad because I realized that once we're both gone, we would have to break up once again.

"I never knew how important you would end up being to my life" He says to Meg as he moves close to her. "You make everyday a happy day. You make everything better, you make me better" He says as Meg lets out a sob.

"You know, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. Something I've never told you. I guess I was afraid, but now I've got nothing to lose" He chuckles, taking her hand making her stand up.

"Meg Anderson, I am utterly and foolishly in love with you...And that's why, I've decided to go to college with you " He says sending her a small smile, his eyes all red and puffy. He was really about to cry.

Meg widens her eyes. By then I had such a huge smile that my face was about to fall off.

"Say something" He chuckled, though I could tell he was really nervous.

"Jake, I don't know what to say. I love you too. Thank you." She says before Jake kisses her.

That.Was.So.Sweet.

I like seeing my best friend so happy, it instantly makes me happy.

Everyone claps and cheers before Jake speaks again.

"But, I'm not the only one that wanted to say a few words..Right Ethan?" He asks. I instantly look at Ethan. He gives my hand a small squeeze and sends me a smile before standing up.

Meg and Jake sit next to me as Ethan grabs the microphone.

"So, as my best friend said. Here, in this High school, I found a lot of happiness. I found friends and I'm just happy..Even if it hasn't always been like that." He chuckles, making everyone let out a small choked laugh, since everyone was crying.

"You see, no one ever really had faith in me. I was just the cool kid. The one who was good at basket ball, the one who gets the most girls" He starts off, his eyes already red.

"And that's true. But that's not all I am." He said. "This is my last day here so I'm not going to be afraid to say the truth. No one here saw my capabilities. Not my teachers, not the principle, not my parents" He says looking at them as they look down in shame.

I kind of felt bad for them.

"However, there was one person who despite not knowing me for so long, even if I had seen her a real long time ago" He says as he looks at me making my heart tick.

"This one person, she believed in me. She saw me for who I am. Sure, she can be boring sometimes, she can jump a bit to conclusions..Even if she's working on that" He says winking at me.

"But this person, is the one person who managed to steal my heart...And I was never able to get it back. You're a thief Kelsey" He says making me laugh.

"Now, with this being said. There's still one thing left. Kels, remember that one time when you had to move to New York?" How could I forget?

"We had to break up. And you see, I didn't like that at all. I was always upset and wondering whether you had already found someone better then me." He says.

Where is he going with this?

"I know we're going to be going to different colleges, but I don't want to lose you because of that" He says coming down near me. "I don't want us to break up" He says his voice breaking on the last part.

"Ethan, what are you saying?" I say, my voice barely a whisper.

"Kelsey, let's not break up. I love you. I love you so much. I can't live without having you with me. I need to know that your heart will always be mine. I don't care how far apart we are, all I care is that I'm madly in love with you. Please, stay with me." He says his eyes locking with mine as everyone 'aww's

"Say yes!" May and Noah scream at the same time.

"I ship it!" Lara and Ellie say in unison, making me laugh.

"I love you Ethan" I say before his lips lock with mine.

*End of flashback*

That, my friends is how we decided to not break up. I'm honestly happy we didn't.

"What are you looking at?" I hear Ethan say from behind me as his arms snake around my waist, kissing my cheek.

It was a Saturday and Ethan decided he wanted to drive for 4 hours just to see me, and to take me out on a date.

How cute is he?

"Our graduation photos" I say turning around to face him.

"That was one heck of a perfect graduation" He grins.

"It sure was" I say giving him a peck on the lips.

"I can't wait for when my next speech to you will happen" He says.

"Oh yeah? And when will that be?" I say laughing slightly.

"When I propose to you" He says his eyes locking with mine, a serious look on his face.

Ethan Walker, I'm madly in love with you.

It was so cute, I actually cried writing this. It even reminded me of my graduation. I cried like 5 times xD Gah I miss my friends ;-;
