Bonus chapter 2: I promise

~Kelsey's POV~

It's been 4 years since graduation. I've almost graduated from college now.

Not gonna lie, it's been difficult. Everything has.

Seeing Meg and the rest..Even seeing Ethan.

Here's the thing. Ethan got noticed about 2 years ago from a record company. He was offered a contract and he's always busy singing and stuff.

I'm happy for him honestly. I haven't seen him this happy, music makes him happier than basketball and I'm so proud of him. I'm a proud girlfriend honestly. He has grown so much.

I'm not going to lie, I get kind of jealous knowing that there are so many girls that like him and would do anything to see him and stuff, but I have to accept it. It's his life now. There's nothing I can do about it.

Sad thing is, we're having a PREGraduation dance here and I really want him to be there. I was going to be giving a speech and I really wanted him to hear it.

"Princess, I really want to come" He says.

We were currently face timing. It's one of the few minutes we could find to actually talk.

"I know E, it's fine if you can't. I get it" I say trying not to sound too disappointed. Honestly, of course I want him to come and of course I'm not happy, however he's my boyfriend and I support him and stand by him no matter what he decides.

It's his career and I accept that. Because I love him.

"No, Kels. I'm coming, just try and stop me" He grins. "I promise you that I will try my best to come. Actually no, I promise you that I'm coming to the dance" He says.

"Promise?" I ask.

"I promise princess" He replies making me smile.

"Thank you" I say.

"I love you" He says.

"I love you too" I reply.

And I meant it.

"I have to go now princess, I'll talk to you when I get the chance okay?" He asks. I simply nod my head before he hangs up.

I'm really glad he's going to be there.

The day of the dance finally arrived. I wasn't really sure on what to wear, luckily Leah was able to come and help me choose a dress. She was even bringing some of hers.

I would have asked Meg but Leah's college is closer to mine, like only half an hour away so it was better that I called Leah.

"So Ethan's coming with you?" She asked.

"Yeah, he promised me he'd come" I say as I start picking dresses and seeing how I look in front of the mirror.

In the end I ended up going with a short flowy baby blue dress along with a silver beaded belt.

Leah even did my hair and make up for me. She curled my hair slightly and left it loose.

"I don't know how to thank you" I smile.

"It was no problem, besides I missed hanging out with you, we're both busy and rarely hang out so I'm kind of glad we did this." She said.

"Yeah, I really missed you too" I reply as she hugs me.

"Anyways, now I've got to run. Have an amazing night" She winks before going out of my room.

Ethan and I agreed to just meet each other in the gym so that meant I was probably going to be alone for a while.

As long as he comes I don't really mind.

After getting ready I make my way downstairs to the gym. There are already a lot of people dancing and having fun.

I decided to go next to my friends Matt and Mel, they were twins. Mel was my roommate for a while before she decided to move in to an apartment instead of the actual dormitories.

"Do you have a date for tonight?" Matt asks.

"Yeah, my boyfriend's coming" I reply as both of them just nod.

Yeah, that happened about an hour ago. Ethan never showed.

To say I'm hurt is an understatement. I get it, he's busy and stuff, but he promised me he'd be here.

I waited and waited, people started thinking I'm weird and that I don't know how to have fun. I kept looking around like a crazy person.

I tried calling him but he just wouldn't answer, I really hope that nothing happened to him.

At this point I don't know what to think.

"Kelsey!" I hear someone saying from behind me.

I look around and see a person I wasn't expecting to see.

"Jake, what the heck are you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm so sorry, Ethan called me and told me to come. He said he was running late, something came up I guess" He says.

"Then why did he call you and not me?" I ask.

"I'm sorry, I don't know" He sighed. "Let's just try and have fun before he comes here" He says.

"Didn't Meg come?" I ask hoping to have my friend here.

"She told me to come on my own, she said she wanted you to be my priority today, she wanted me to take care of you and make this the best night of your life" He says.

"She's an amazing friend" I say.

"I'm sorry about Ethan" He says as he leads me to the dance floor.

"It's fine. I missed you" I say.

"Yeah, me too. Meg really misses you as well. We heard you're going to be the one to do the fourth year speech today" He smiles.

"Yeah, I'm really nervous. I don't know what to say. It's not like our high school graduation" I say as we dance along with the music.

"It's been difficult here. I only made a few friends, they're more of acquaintances rather then friends" I explain.

"Yeah, same, Meg and I found it a bit difficult to make friends, I'm just glad I still have you guys" He says.

"Yeah me too" I reply.

"Hey, Ethan will be here for my speech right?" I ask.

"Yeah, certainly" Jake assured me, however I could hear the doubt in his voice.

Well, he wasn't here.

I went up, did my speech and went down. Still no Ethan.

The speech was nothing special, not a lot of people know me. A lot of them just act all bitchy.

It's not the first time I heard some of them saying: "She's such a joke, she wants to make us believe that the Ethan Walker, one of the hottest guys in the world is her boyfriend"

That honestly hurt. A lot.

And today just proved them right.

No, that's not the reason I wanted him here. I didn't even care about what any of them thought, all I cared is that I knew that Ethan was with me. I wanted him here because I wanted to share all of this with him, but he let me down.

I felt like crying, but I didn't want to.

"I'm so sorry" Jake said as the last song was playing. I knew he meant it but, didn't really help.

"It's not your fault Jake. Thank you for being here. You made this dance a lot less shitty" I say sending him a small smile. "I don't understand why he hasn't arrived. He promised me he'd be here" I say, my eyes starting to sting.

"Hey, Kels. Don't cry. I'm sure he has his reasons. He loved you like crazy, he would never hurt you on purpose" He says.

"Yeah, I know" I reply.

As the final song ended everyone clapped and started to leave.

"Thank you for being here Jake" I sighed.

"Uhm, Kels" Jake says.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Turn around" He says.

I do as he says and I see Ethan standing there, in the doorway. Lots of girls started freaking out and whispering, as well as looking at me.

About time Eth.

He really looked cute in a tux, and that made me even more upset for some reason.

"He can't even come next to me properly, he has girls surrounding him" I say slightly annoyed.

"Then you go to him" Jake says pushing me.

I walk over towards Ethan as Ethan tries to walk closer to me. Lots of girls start whispering and looking between us.

"The dance is over Eth" I say keeping my voice low.

"I know, I'm so sorry" He says.

"Yeah, I'm sorry too" I reply.

"Eth, I know you're busy and I get that. I support your career fully but I was really counting on you to be here. You weren't" I say.

"Kels, I'm honestly sorry, I got caught up. I had to go record a song then as I got out a lot of people surrounded me, and you know me. I hate letting people down. I ended up talking to some of them, I didn't want to just leave them there after a lot of them traveled for a long time to see me. Then I had to rush somewhere to grab something" He says.

"I get it Ethan, your fans are important to you I get that, and I'm trying not to be mad because I feel extremely selfish right now but I just can't help it" I whisper.

"Oh my Gosh, are they breaking up?" Some girl excitedly asks who I think is her boyfriend. He gives her an annoyed look and just walks away.

I would have laughed if I wasn't so upset.

"Let me make it up to you" He says.

"How?" I ask.

"There are still some people here, a lot actually. Let me make it up to you" He says.

"What song do you want me to sing?" He grins.

"Ethan, you can't just come here and ask me what song I want you to sing. Yes, it's cute that you sing to me and I love it, but you can't always keep making it up to me by singing to me in public. It doesn't work like that. I know a song speaks a thousand words but you can't keep using that" I say.

"Okay, guess I'll just have to go with plan B, and sing you the song when we're alone" He says running up towards the stage.

"What is he doing?" I ask Jake.

"I think I know" He grins.

"Can I have your attention everyone?" Ethan asks from the stage. Not that he needed to ask for it, everyone's attention was already on him.

"Okay so, some of you might know me, and for those who don't, I'm Ethan Walker" He grins.

"I know you Ethan, I know you real well!" Some girl squeals jumping up and down winking at Ethan, making me roll my eyes.

"Alright then, good for you" He says as he looks at her like she's crazy, which she was.

"So, if you know me that well then you should also know that I have a girlfriend, a girlfriend I'm absolutely crazy about" He says looking at me. "I ran out of speeches to say to you a couple of years ago, and there isn't much to say. I'm sorry I let you down" He starts off before bursting out laughing.

This guy is crazy.

"I'm sorry, that kind of reminded me of 'Starstruck'" He chuckles. "Which is good because I know it's one of your favorite Disney Channel movies" He grins as a lot of people 'aww'.

"Anyways, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you when I should have. I should make more time for you and I'm extremley sorry. I am so lucky to have you by my side. You encourage me, you support my decisions without complaining once. I know that deep down it hurts you, it annoys you which is what makes me grateful. You put your feelings aside to make me happy. Thank you  Kelsey" He says making his way towards me.

"No words can describe how lucky I am to have you. How much I love you even. You light up my life. You are my life. I love you so damn much Kels. I'm sorry" He says making me smile slightly, giving in.

"If you remember correctly.." He starts off before looking at Jake as Jake gives him a nod. 'About damn time' He mouths as Ethan chuckles.

"If you remember correctly, four years ago I told you that the next time I dedicate a whole speech to you will be the day I propose to you" He says making my heart stop for a second.

No.

He won't.

"Kelsey, I love you so so much and I always want to be in your life" He starts off, kneeling down as a lot of girls start squealing while some just cry...Not happy crying that's for sure.

"And I want you to be in mine. Which is why, I want you to make me the happiest man alive...Wait scratch that. I already am, because I have you. So I just want you to put your faith in me and be my wife. Will you marry me Kelsey? I promise I'll love you for the rest of eternity, and that's a promise I'm bound to keep" He says taking out a ring from a small box.

I was stunned.

The ring was simply beautiful, and so expensive. I would have accepted even if he got me another ring pop.

"Yes Eth, of course I will" I say crying.

"I love you" He whispers before he kisses me.

"I love you too Ethan"
