Chapter- 11

Authors POV :

As the next day dawned, Arjun, Naina, and Sri enjoyed themselves while playing carrom together.

Arjun suggested, "Let's get into teams and play."

Sri replied, "Acha, okay then. Naina and I will be on one team, and you can play with the invisible ghost opposite you. Let's start."

Sri gave Naina a high-five, and Arjun's face turned to shock.

Whinning like a child Arjun spoke, "Yaar, this is not fair. How can I play without a teammate?"

"Right, that's the point I want you to understand. There is no fourth person. How can you think we can play in teams?"

At the same time, Arun got off his bike and came inside the house. The elders had gone to the temple, and Arun had been out for some project work.

Seeing Arun, Sri passed a smile, and in return, he gave his signature one-sided dimpled smile as he walked towards the steps.

Arjun, Naina, and Arun were startled when Sri jumped off her chair and spoke, "I have an idea! Let's play in teams. Arun will join."

Naina exclaimed, "Yes, Bhaiya, come here!"

Arun approached Naina. "We want to play in teams," she explained.

Arun hesitated, "No way. You guys carry on."

Sri pleaded, "Please, Arun, just one game. Please."

Arun finally conceded, "Okay, where should I sit?"

Arjun, fuming in anger, saw Arun's smirk grow wider. "I am not playing," Arjun declared.

Naina sighed, "Huff, please Arjun, don't make a scene. Let's play. Come on, guys."

Arun stood there, contemplating where to sit. His internal monologue was racing: "If I take a seat here, we would be a team. No, that cannot be possible. What should I do? Yes, Sri is a very good friend of mine. Why not play with her?"

Arun finally decided, "I don't want to sit here."

Arjun scoffed, "As if I care."

Naina intervened, "Let's do one thing. Me and Arjun will be one team and-"

Sri interjected, "Me and Arun will be one team."

As they settled into their places, they started to play. The rest of the time, Naina and Arjun exchanged high-fives with each other, at another time Arun and Sri shouted and giggled, enjoying themselves immensely.

The shocking thing was that even Arjun and Arun forgot that they were supposed to be enemies and spent a wonderful time together, filled with laughter and camaraderie.

There's a quote that says, "The amount of time you spend laughing is eventually balanced by moments of sadness."

Naina and Sri were very happy that their brothers didn't fight today. However, the one thing they didn't know was that by the end of the day, they would get hurt.

In the evening, all the family members were in the garden, enjoying their snacks and, most importantly, chai.

"Any chai lovers? Welcome to the club!"🙋‍♀️.

Later that night, after having their dinner and dessert, everyone went to their rooms. Naina and Sri discussed their plans for college, while Arun headed to Arjun's room.

(Heheee, the fun is going to start, my readers.)

Arun opened the door only to see Arjun standing near the bed with a jug in hand. He went to the other side of the bed but found it wet.

"What is this, Arjun?" Arun shouted.

Arjun replied sarcastically, "The bed and water. Can't you see?"

Arun, fuming in anger, asked, "Is this the way you treat guests?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, Arun. You can take the couch."(note the sarcasm)

Arun looked at the small couch and protested, "How will I fit on it? It's too small."Arjun shrugged, "That's not my problem, buddy."

In anger, Arun grabbed the jug of water and poured it onto Arjun's bed.

Arjun shouted, "How dare you do that, Mr.!"

Arun retorted, "Well, now you can adjust on the couch."

That triggerd the fire between them . Grabbing a pillow Arun left the room and walked to the living room .

He then tried to make himself comfortable on the couch. After putting a lot of efforts sleep drowned him .

The next day, all the members were sitting in the hall. The elders were having discussion .

"It's time to leave. I'm heading back to our city." Veer made an announcement.

" Why, Bhaiya? Can't you guys move here?" Sumi asked as she doesn't want them to leave , afterall they were happy, cherishing all the old memories and making new ones just like old times .

" No, Sumi, it's not possible. My work is entirely in Noida."

"You're right, Veer. Don't worry. Naina will be safe here. She will stay in our house." Answered Raghu .

Arun, who was shocked, said " Papa and Badepapa, I know you want Naina to stay here, but I have decided on her PG accommodation here._

" Why did you do that, beta?" asked Raghu in confusion.

"I don't want her to be here where animals exist. "(Side-eyed Arjun)

"But, beta..." Sumi was about to say something, but Arjun came between and stopped her with his words.

"Ma, stop it. If he doesn't want it, then who will beg them? Let her stay in a hostel or somewhere else."

" Arjun, is that you talking?" Veer was shocked to listen these words from Arjun's mouth .

All other are just seeing Arjun and Arun as they know they are egoistic.

" Did you See, he doesn't want Naina here. Just leave it, Papa. Naina, pack your bags."

Naina and Sri looked at each other

Naina wanted to stop him " Bha--" but how can she."No, Naina. If you're missing Sri, you can meet her in college." He completed his sentence as it was an order not any decision which should be made after discussing with her .

"Shut up, guys. You are the younger ones. Without letting us speak, you are making decisions." Shouted Meena .

Sumi already had tears in her eyes as she is sensitive. She didn't expect these things will happen.

" Naina, you can go from here." Naina looked into Arjun's eyes after listening to his words , but he didn't make any eye contact.

" See? You're begging the ones who don't want you in the house . Your house is not a mansion, mister. We don't need any accommodations from you." Arun with a lot of anger spatted .

All this time Arjun was trying to control his anger but , the situation was going out of hands ."Mr. Arun, mind your tongue. You're talking about my house as if yours is a mansion."

Raghu , not interested to take their nonsense anymore shouted "Shut up, both of you."

Ignoring Raghu's comment, Arun continued "Don't forget we helped you."

" Oh, really? Remember when your school fee wasn't paid on time? My father paid for you." Arjun statement made everyone gasp in the room

All the elders got angrier. Raghu went towards Arjun and raised his hand, while Veer threw a vase to the ground. Everyone knew about Raghu and Veer's tempers; they were beasts in anger mode.

" Naina, go pack your bags." Arun ordered her "Why, Arun? Please let Naina stay here."

"Don't get involved in this, Sri."

" Arun, let's sort this out. Let's dis--" she was trying to control his anger but Arun being Arun barked "I said Naina won't be here."

" Don't raise your voice at my sister, or else..." Arjun came between Arun and Sri to protect her .Arjun stepped near Arun, showing his fisted hand.

"Or else what will you do?"

Naina and the others flinched when Arjun raised his voice.

" Take your things and get out, Naina."

Naina teared up while Sri stood there, not knowing what to say.

Then Raghu decided to speak up "First of all, Arjun and Arun, get out of this house. It is mine. Only Veer, Meena, Sumi, and I have the right to make decisions here."

" Yes, it is final that Naina will stay here." Veer made his support to Raghu's decision.

"Arun, cancel the PG accommodation." Meena said to Arun

Sri hugged Naina as she was on an urge to cry.

Arjun vanished upstairs, and Arun went out of the house.

All the elders were with Sri and Naina, packing their things.

"When will they change? I just want them to be together like Naina and Sri." Sumi said . Everyone was worried.

Their fights were getting terrible day by day , but on the other hand their families were not ready to leave eachother's company.

It they continue to fight , it will get difficult for both the families to even meet .

Sri sat beside Sumi and calmed her "Ma don't worry. We are here. We will handle it."

"Yes, Aunty we will take care of it. It's our responsibility." Naina hugged Meena.

Both Naina and Sri said together"We will bring them together. We will also bring back the old days."

Naina's POV:

Should I go upstairs and talk with Arjun? I want to be with him. What was he even thinking of ? He really don't want me to stay here . Then why was even he talking to me .

"I will go to my room. Tomorrow morning at 4:30, the train, right?" I asked , I wanted some time to digest what has just happened.

"Yes, you guys can rest. We will talk sometime." Mom said and I walked towards the room.

Sri's POV:

I want to meet Arun. He is in a bad mood; I will cheer him up.

"Okay, bye. I ll go to the garden " I said to Naina as she wanted to rest . She has an early train tomorrow.

I made my way to garden . I saw Arun sitting on the bench in the garden from my room's window. So I decided to talk to him .

Just when I entered the garden I saw him sitting on the swing . After turning everyone's brains into a mess, see this boy swinging calmly with his eyes closed.

While walking closer to him, I thought, I don't know what attracts me to him. From childhood, I used to have a crush on Arun, but I think he doesn't feel the same way about me.

While all these thoughts were roaming in my brain , I didn't realise I was standing near him . Within fraction of seconds Arun turned his head towards me .

How did he know I was standing behind?

Without talking anything I went and sat beside him on the other swing. No one dared to speak .

I was about to speak , but I heard him saying something
