Chapter - 12

Author POV:

*I'm sorry, Sri" said Arun breaking the silence between them.

" Huh?"

" I know I hurt you. I have anger issues, and that's why I shouted at you." Said Arun softly .

This was the first time Sri was listening him speaking in the low voice after years .

" I know you have anger issues , Arun ,that's the reason I took the step and came to talk with you."Sri left the swing and stood in front of Arun, who was on another swing.

"Look, you don't need to apologize. Arjun also showed up his anger on Naina. I m sorry from Arjun's side"

" Don't." Showing his palm "I'm not interested in hearing about him."

" Okay, relax. Let's go for a walk."

She extended her hand towards him.

Arun looked at her hand and then at her face.

" Come on, Aru."

Arun chuckled and places his hand on her hand. They both went for a walk along the road.

Under the moon they started to walk....

" Why don't you want Naina to be here?" This question was going around her head.

" I just don't want her here."

"Okay, let me guess the reason."

Arun gave her a side-eye

" Is it because of me?"

"What the hell? Why would I do that? You two are best friends. How can I divide you?"

' Then, is it about my brother?"

"Arjun doesn't want her here." He decided to speak up his thoughts.

" Who said that?"

" I can tell by the way he talks."

"Arjun is rude only to you, not with Naina. They are good friends."

"Whatever. In the end, I failed. She will be staying with you guys. I don't want her to stay "

" No, Arun. Why do you think that ? "

She thought that the topic was slipping off from her , so she decided to divert it .

"When I got the news about you coming here for studies, I was excited. Finally, I could meet you after years. But Papa said that you were going to live in a PG with your friends. After a few days, you came to our house, talked with my parents, said hello to me, and then left."

"I thought you didn't want to talk to me."

"And i think You have a problem. You just think things your own way."

" But I-uh-argh, let's leave this, Sri. We can talk for hours now as we're in the same college and same branch."

"Yes! I found out that you write poems. " She smile with a smirk .

Arun as usual was scratching his neck and replied "No, who told you that?"

"I got to know this , when Uncle was telling your poetry skills to my father " she said turing towards him .

" Yeah, yeah. "

" Can you say something about the moon or anything, please?" She asked with a sparkle in her eyes . Her eyes reflected the shine of the moon which is in the sky .

They gazed into eachother's eyes for a few seconds until , the realisation hit Arun.

"I will when the time comes..." He said diverting his gaze towards the road, Sri giggled seeing the shy side of Arun.

On the other side, Naina and Arjun were lost in their own thoughts.

The night went short for Arun Sri.

The night went long for Arjun Naina.

**TIME SKIP**

Arjun and Naina are still not talking, while Arun and Sri have grown closer. Sri's crush on Arun has developed into a deeper feeling.

Meena and Veer have left for Mumbai .

The day has come for the girls, it's the first day of college .

Naina and Sri are in their room, searching for dresses for their first day of college. After a half an hour of struggle to select dress , both the girls were ready for the day .

They came downstairs where everyone was present.

Sumi is doing puja in the mandir. Raghu, Naina, Arjun, and Sri are standing outside the mandir. Sumi comes and gives aarti to everyone. Naina and Sri are eagerly waiting for the prasadh, as they love the kheer made by Sumi.

" All the best, Naina and Sri." Sumi wishes both of them and feeds the kheer .

Raghu gives them a hug. Naina and Sri leave the house in a happy mood and head towards the car.

'I have an important file to check. Arjun, take Naina and Sri with you in the car." Arjun nodes his head and takes the keys and goes outside.

" Papa isn't coming, so get in the car. Let's go."

" When Bhaiya is driving, I always take the passenger seat. Today, you can sit there since you love the passenger seat too." Sri said to Naina who was waiting near the car. She moves to the back not willing to sit in the front.

" You can sit in the passenger seat, Sri. No issues."

Arjun doesn't say anything and they drive off to college. Sri was blabbering and pointing out things in the city while Naina watches Arjun through the mirror.

Arjun knew that Naina was watching him, but he didn't react. They reached the college and went inside.

He gave a side hug to Sri, wishing her all the best. Then, he moved to Naina and gave her a handshake, saying the same to her before leaving.

"Let's meet during the break." Sri decided.

"Yeah, in the canteen."

Naina and Sri hugged each other and went to their respective blocks.

Naina went to her class. There were ten to fifteen students already .Two girls waved at Naina.

Naina went towards the girls.

"Hello, I'm Naina." She forwarded her hand to which the other girl responded.

" Hey, hi. I'm Sowrya."

" Hi, Harsitha here."

" Why do we have very few people? Is this the total strength of our class?"

"No, there are more people. They will come soon. I asked our HOD, and there are 40 people in our class." Harshita responded.

There was a guy sitting opposite them, watching the girls.

Meanwhile, in Sri's class...

Sri went inside the class and met two boys at the door.

"Excuse me."

" Hello." The guy responded.

" Hi." Othe guy smiled at her .

" I'm Vihaan."

" Nice to meet you." They both shok their hands .

"This is my friend Pranav."

Pranav gave a handshake to Sri.

Soon, she met other people. After their introduction the classes started making everyone busy.

In the meeting hall...

All the senior students from all groups gathered.

" As we all know, the freshers have arrived, and we are conducting a freshers' party three days from today."

The vice principle of the college started the meeting.

"Commerce and management should equally take the initiative. We do not want any issues from your branch AGAIN .Who are the representatives "

A lecturer came from the side and started to announce the representatives for each group.

" Arjun is the representative for the commerce department, Arun is the representative for management department, Ibrahim for the science department....."

" There is no need to take all the burden on your shoulders, you can take help from other classes and even engage with the freshers. And maintain the decorum of the college ."

And so the meeting went with all the discussion and instructions of the freshers day .

Time skip

The first two classes involved introductions and meeting different people. When the break bell rang, Naina and Sri met in the canteen and hugged each other, sharing everything that happened.

" Do you know, I have made a good friend among the boys."

" Really , spill me the tea babe ,Who is he?" Sri spoke bringing all the drama .

" Deepak. He is very nice. We became friends." Said Naina.

" Ohoo friend nice. I wanted to tell you about my boy friends too "

" Do you mean male friends " Naina exclaimed in confusion.

" Yeah yeah whatever "

They continued chatting...

After the break, Naina and Sri decided to explore the college as they were free.

They roamed around the block, heading to the back, which is the center of their blocks. While passing through one corridor, they heard some music.

" Sri there is something happening come lets go "

After getting close to the room they saw all the setup in the room , speakers , sound proof setup, big mirror fixed to one side of the wall.

Anybody can guess that it was a dance room .

"I think there is a dance class going on."

" Yeah, and I think we should join them . " They both made their way into the room .

The room was divided into two sides. Naina and Sri stood there, noticing the line between the room.

They noticed that Arjun was on the left side and Arun was on the right side which means commerce on the left and management on the right.

Then Arun saw both of them and called Sri to his side "Sri, come here, and Naina, you go to the other side."

Sri and Naina crossed the line and went to their respective sides.

" What is this? Why is there a line?" Naina questioned one of the senior who was standing beside Arjun, completely ignoring him .

Out of nowhere, Deepak jumped near Naina, startling her.

" Hi, Naina. The line is to divide commerce and management."

"When did you come here?" She asked moreover she was surprised.

" I got bored so I was checking the clubs then , got to know about this"

They continued talking, standing side by side, only to burn someone's stomach.

( you know what i mean)

Arjun was completely pissed of the closeness between them , he tried to ignore but was failed . Then decided to break their conversation he spatted.

" Quiet everyone .lets discuss and start our preparations."

**On the other side...**

Sri went towards Arun"What are you guys doing?"

" We're organizing the freshers' party. We'll send you invitations."

" This is the dance club, right?"Sri asked in an excitement.

Arun definitely guessed the excitement in her voice as dance was something which Naina and Sri loved to do together.

" Yes." He smiled at her

" Can we also perform, Naina and I want to dance together"

A Senior who was standing beside Arun, listening to them spoke "You and Naina? (scoffs) Do you even know how to dance?" She was Priya who is in the same class as Arun.

Eventually she was getting jealous how Arun was completely ignoring her and giving his all attention and smile to Sri, as the girl is having a huge crush on Arun. But Arun being himself, always ignored her and started that , love was something which he doesn't bother about and is not interested in .

Her words were loud that it echoed in the room which was audible to the other side.

Hearing this, Arjun and Arun clenched their fists.

Hearing her words , Naina made her way towards the Priya, Other members followed her , as Arjun was going with her .

"Well, of course. " She stood beside Sri as to give support.

" Do you want to watch?" (winks)" What do you say Naina? Let's show them .

Naina and Sri went to the center of the room.

Arjun orders his friend giving his phone "Karthik, turn up the music"

Soon, they started dancing.

As soon as the music started both Naina and Sri showed their performance.

Arjun and Arun who knew their talent , were enjoying the dance.

Arjun was completely whipped by Naina, and on the other side Arun was actually ignoring Naina and observing Sri.

The way she moves, the way she lifts her hands in the air. Something was happening there .

Soon they completed their performance. They stood before Priya who was now completely embarrassed.

" Woah! Killed it! Beautiful! The duo! Fire!" Everyone praised them and the sound of applause echoes in the room.

They shocked everyone and received many compliments.

" Proud of you girls." Arjun said looking at them , but Naina ignored him.

"I think someone's eyes are burning." He said looking at that Priya.

Soon, everyone returned to their work.

Deepak came towards them " wow Naina, you both killed the dance . When did you guys prepare this dance?"

" Actually we both love dancing, so we randomly practiced this one day " said Naina.

Seeing them close again , Arjun was getting more anger . He saw Naina was searching for something.

He took the water bottle from the table and reached towards them . Forwarding the water bottle to her , he looked into her eyes .

She didn't say anything but took the water from him and gulped it . She passed the bottle to Sri later.

It was silence again between them , so Arjun went to his friends.
