Chapter 20

20| End Game. {Part 2}

Girl In The City

"Lethabile?"

He was the first person I saw when they took the bag off my head. He sounded shocked and his facial expressions screamed of fear.

He was worried about me, undoubtedly.

"Now...this is your gift." Jake said. "Pablo." He snaps his fingers again and one of the big men came towards me.

Cold, sharp metal pressed against my chocolate skin, too hard that I could feel the little liquid escape from the slight cut.

I was scared. More fear built up in me as the knife only put more pressure against my neck. My heart rate quickened rapidly as the fear of dying settled in me.

"What do you want with her?!" Keegan was fuming. "You wanted me but yet you have her bleeding!" He yelled but Jake only remained calm

"Yes I did want you but I also wanted her..." He turned to look at me with a smirk. "Dead." He finished his sentence and my eyes widened.

He noticed my increased fear and chuckled.

Crap, crap, crap! He wants to fucking kill me! Kill me!

Jake turned towards a raging Keegan who stared at him with pure hatred amd disgust.

Jake chuckled. "Oh come on pal. Lighten up. She's not even important, just a useless african girl." He chuckles and I notice Keegan's hands ball into fists.

"But..." Jake says and looks at me. "If you hand me all the drug clients and connections, I'll let her live." He turned back to Keegan.

"Don't it–" I try to voice out my the knife on presses harder against my neck, making me hiss in pain.

"Fine." Keegan simply says.

"Keeg–" The knife presses even harder and crimson liquid descend from the current wound and stains my shirt.

"Keegan?" Jake faces Keegan again.

"I said fine." He says coldly.

Jake nods and turn to Margaret, finally acknowledging her.

"Do it." He nods in my direction while looking at her and i furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"What?" She asks confused.

"Kill her." He says nonchalantly.

"You said you wouldn't–" Keegan cuts in but is quickly cut off.

"Yeah, I've changed my mind." He turns to Margaret again. "Do. It."

Margaret nods and heads towards me, taking the knife from Pablo and pressing it lightly against my neck.

"Now." Jake demands.

I squeeze my eyes shut and feel no blood or agonizing pain on my neck.

"Run!" Margaret's voice echoes and I open my eyes and notice Pablo or the ground bleeding.

Then the door bust open and more guards enter but are quickly shot down by the FBI.

My body jolts back as someone pulls me with incredible strength.

I turn to look at the culprit and find the other guard holding me.

His grip soon falters as his limp body falls to the ground and I shriek at the look and sudden bullets flying around the room.

"Letta!" Keegan pulls me through the back door and towards a waiting car.

I stop at the door before we can jump inside the car.

"No." I said as I halted harshly.

He furrows his eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean no?"

"No I won't run." I breathed out and he raised both his eyebrows for a slight moment before shaking his head violently.

"You're leaving. We'll handle this."

I shake my head.

"Definitely not. I need to put the bullet in him."

"No you don't." He caresses my faces his both hands. "You don't. It's not worth your life." He rests his forehead against mine.

I sigh and I close my eyes for a moment then open them up to meet Keegan's breathtaking eyes.

"Let me do this. I just..." I sigh. "Fine. At least let me help."

Keegan pulled from me and stared at me attentively then nodded a little.

"Just as long as you don't get hurt because I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to you." He closed his eyes with furrowed eyebrows as though he were thinking of if.

I caress his left cheek and he opens his eyes.

"I love, even though you lied and fucked up but I still love you...so fucking much." I sighed. "So let's end this...for peace." I said amd headed into the car.

He jumped in next to me and we drove to some hotel.

The drive was a bit long and while we drove to the location, Keegan spoke on the phone for a while.

He hung up and turned to me.

"We'll have backup from the FBI. You'll have to distract Jake for a short while till the sniper gets him." He says and I nod.

Keegan hands me a gun and I put it in between my waistband and cover it up with the shirt.

I turn to open the door but Keegan grabs my arm.

"Be safe." He says and just as I'm about to say something he claims my lips.

Butterflies erupt in my stomach as I kiss him back.

My heart rate increases and heat rises up my body.

I break from the kiss and we both find ourselves panting.

"I love you." He says and I peck his lips lightly.

"I love you too." I turn and exit the car.

It's dark outside now and I walk down the walk way to the hotel. Apparently we'd find him him here because apparently this is where Jake keeps his back up cashes and passports and the FBI thinks that he'd probably try to flee.

I take the stairs to his room and find the door slightly ajar.

I head inside and halt when a voice echoes. "Knew I'd find you here." He said, smile visible in his voice.

I turned to look at him and found him holing a gun in hand.

"Perfect." He smiles with so much evilness. "Now there's no one else to stop me from killing you." He raises his gun and pints it at me.

"Last words?" He lifts an eyebrow.

"Yes." I smirk. "Nna ke nna gwana Jozi. Egoli we don't play petty games." (I am a Jozi child.)

I smiled and he furrowed his eyebrows.

Before I knew it, a bullet slammed into his head letting his lifeless body drop to the floor.

I let out a sigh of relief as I close my eyes.

Soon Keegan walks in and engulfs me in a hug holding me tightly.

It's over...

It's finally over...
