Chapter 255
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 255
17 thousand?
Aurelia looked at Leslie in disbelief.
Judging from his expression, he wasnât lying.
Jackson had actually spent 17 thousand to book the entire restaurant.
Clearly, Millie hadnât anticipated this either.
Her face turned pale, but she quickly regained composure.
She laughed coldly and said, âHe didnât do it for Aurelia. Jackson booked the restaurant for me! Donât get ahead of yourselves! He loves me!â
âEnough!â
Mrs. Parker couldnât bear to watch Millie any longer.
âThis has nothing to do with Aurelia. Iâve sold the items in your closet. Had I not done so, I wouldnât have known you were hiding nearly over a hundred thousand at home. You took out loans just to buy these things, yet you wonât even spend money to save your dadâs life!â
âMom! What are you saying? You sold my things? Why? Those were gifts from Jackson! What right do you have ah!â
Before Millie could finish her sentence, she received a slap on the face.
This time, it wasnât from her mom. It was from Aurelia.
âDid that wake you up?â Aurelia asked.
âAurelia! Ah!â
Aurelia delivered another slap.
âThe first one is a payback for the slap you gave me. This one is from me personally!â
âArev
you insane?â Millie was at a loss for words.
âWake up! You havenât married Jackson yet, and youâre already burdening your entire family with an enormous debt! What do you have left? Will Jackson help you? Heâs leaving the country soon, you think he would help you then?â Aurelia asked.
âWho says he wonât help me? Iâll go with him in a few days.â Millie smiled.
âAre you insane? Your dad needs you by his side right now, and you want to go abroad with Jackson? Do you know how much money that requires?â she questioned.
Just because youâre broke doesnât mean I canât afford it.â

Millie turned to her mom, holding out her hand.
âMom, you said you sold my things. Whereâs the money?â
Mrs. Parker looked at Millie with despair.
âYou⦠What are you saying?â
Millic frowned.
âGive me back my money. Donât worry, Mom. Our good days are still ahead.â
Mrs. Parker stared at Millie, finally accepting that her once cheerful and considerate daughter is gone.
âThanks to Mr. Synderâs help, I managed to sell them at a pretty good price. I used some of the money to pay off some of your loans, and the rest will be used for your dadâs treatment.â
âYouâre lying! I donât believe you!â
Millie took out her phone and tried logging into her parentsâ bank account to check the balance.
However, no matter how she tried, the login password was always wrong.
âIâve already changed the password. Since you arenât reliable anymore, I have to start looking after my savings myself. Oh, I sold the ring you secretly kept in the drawer too.â
Millieâs eyes flashed with anger and she stormed up to her mother.
âYou sold my ring? That was my engagement ring!â
âEngagement? With whom? The receipt in the box showed you bought it yourself. Did you propose to yourself?â Mrs. Parker said.
Millie cried. âMom, why donât you understand me? I need to present myself in a certain way to gain recognition from Jacksonâs family!â
Mrs. Parker was sick of reprimanding Millie and frowned in silence.
Seeing as her mother wouldnât help her, Millie walked up to Aurelia.
âAurelia, you were the one who told my mom to sell my things, right? Who do you think you are? Pay me back all my money! Hand it over!â
âWhat are you, a bandit? Do you really think Iâm a pushover? You claim to be Jacksonâs soonâtoâbe wife, so all that money shouldnât mean much to you. Are the Morrisons actually really poor, or are they refusing to acknowledge you?â
Aurelia didnât mince her words.
Leslie raised an eyebrow and gave her an approving look.
From the beginning, Millieâs words were contradictory and unreasonable.
The fact that she had to make a loan to look like she was living a luxurious life proved that her

relationship with Jackson was coming to an end.

âAurelia, my mom is easily influenced. Your husband was the one who told her to sell my stuff. If the two of you donât pay me back that money right now, you arenât stepping out of this hospital!â Millie
shouted in frustration.
