Chapter 26
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 26
Florence said, âAfter my husband and Ms. Simmons left the restaurant, they went to the hospital to take care of me. Ms. Watson, do you need me to show you the surveillance footage of my delivery in the hospital?â
Florenceâs anger was evident.
Zachary immediately stepped forward. He swallowed his pride and comforted, âMrs. Lynch, calm down. Itâs all a misunderstanding!â
Florence raised her eyebrows and said, âMisunderstanding? I donât think so. If it was just a misunderstanding, how could anybody post such photos in my name?
âMr. Zeller, itâs not just your company involved now that Jason has also been slandered. If I donât stand up and investigate thoroughly, wouldnât it turn into a mess?â
Zachary frowned deeper and nodded repeatedly. âYes, yes, we will definitely investigate thoroughly.â
Florence stopped pressing Zachary and simply reminded him, âI have to come here to clarify for my husband just after giving birth to my child.â
âI wonder how my father will deal with the culprit if he finds out about it. One should always weigh the pros and cons in life.â
Zachary couldnât refute and broke out in a cold sweat.
Seeing that, Aurelia thought for a while and walked up to Florence.
âMrs. Lynch, please donât worry. Our company and colleagues trust me. They havenât caused me any trouble. On the contrary, Iâm sorry to Mr. Lynch, so I will apologize to him in person another day.â
Florence shot Kimberly a contemptuous glance.
âLook here, this is the soâcalled âconsidering the overall situation.â Itâs unlike kicking someone when theyâre down.â
Upon hearing that, Zachary and other colleagues immediately looked at Aurelia gratefully.
Only Kimberly seethed with jealousy.
Florence snorted softly and turned to look at Aurelia.
âMs. Simmons, I specially ordered someone to make pumpkin soup for you, so please have a taste. You are my savior, and even my father said he wanted to meet you. Donât let the uncultured swine affect your mood.â
Kimberlyâs gloomy figure froze on the spot while her colleagues mocked her in silence. This was the biggest humiliation sheâd ever faced since having joined the company!
Aurelia ignored Kimberly and took over the thermos jar. âThank you.â
âDonât mention it.â Florence urged, âQuick, try it.â
Aurelia took a glance at Zachary.

Not daring to offend Florence now, Zachary nodded vigorously at her.
Then, Aurelia pointed to her seat. âLetâs go to my place.â
Florence hummed in response and had someone push her wheelchair to Aureliaâs workstation.
Aurelia unfolded the quillow into a blanket and covered Florence with it.
âMrs. Lynch, donât catch a cold.â
âThank you.â Florence smiled.
Then, Florence whispered a little apologetically, âMs. Simmons, Iâm sorry that I canât pinpoint Kimberly in public. Above all else, I have to consider the reputation of the two companies. Secondly, if I expose her, Iâm worried that she will pick on you even more.â
âI understand.â
âThen youâ¦â Florence suddenly said mysteriously, âHow do you know Ian? You are the first woman Ian has ever helped.â
âIan?â
Aurelia paused with the spoon in her hand. She looked at Florence in confusion.
âI came here in a hurry, so I didnât have time to prepare the surveillance footage. He restored the data and sent it to me. He canât be going out of his way for a woman. Thatâs why Iâm curious about how you two met.â
âI really donât know Ian,â Aurelia responded quickly lest Florence misunderstood that she had ingratiated herself with lan.
Florence frowned. âDo you not know him? Then why did he help you?â
Aurelia was also curious.
A handsome figure inexplicably emerged in her mind. It was Leslie.
Did he help her?
Aurelia was lost in thought.
Suddenly, Florence leaned in closer to her and changed the subject.
âDonât worry about Ian. He is unfathomable anyway. By the way, I heard from Jason that you were married. You rejected him for your husband. So, Iâm curious about what your husband looks like. Can you show me?â
Aurelia was somewhat hesitant. But seeing that Florence had no bad intentions, she nodded.
It just happened that she had a wedding photo on her phone.
âI have a picture. Actually, he isâ¦â
