Chapter 338
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 338
Leslie, who had always stayed aloof, became extremely angry when he saw the signature
on it.
Aurelia was confused as she saw the darkening look on his face. Why was Leslie being so sarcastic?
âYou donât need to compliment me. Itâs what it is.â She lowered her gaze at the divorce agreement helplessly, feeling worse about it than about owing a debt worth 50 million.
âAurelia Simmons!â he shouted.
Feeling like her eardrums were busted, she twitched in fear. âI can hear you.â
âExplain yourself,â he said darkly.
âMr. Synder⦠I canât drag you down with me.â She stared at him and explained, âA divorce is the best solution. You are the brightest star in the IT industry right now with a promising future. I, on the other hand, angered Eva. She will never let me go and Iâm going to end up dragging you down with me.â
âSo you are suggesting divorce for my sake?â Leslie retorted.
Aurelia nodded. âYeah.â
Something felt off with how he phrased it, but Leslieâs expression eased up and he cleared his throat. âDo you really think I canât handle Eva Hanks?â he asked.
Aurelia frowned. âSheâs different. She works for the media and has a powerful
background. How will you deal with her? Itâs 50 million, not 500 dollars. Even your boss wonât help.â
âWhat do you plan to do, then?â Leslie asked.
âLetâs get a divorce first. I will take on everything myself and fight her to the nail for this.
I have nothing much to lose, anywayâ¦â Aurelia declared meekly, becoming increasingly unsure of herself as she spoke.
How could she possibly match Eva? She was just gritting her teeth and holding her
ground. However, she would never admit to a crime she didnât commit.
Aurelia sighed and lowered her head, suddenly feeling dizzy.
A hand landed on her head.

âAurelia, youâre really stupid. You havenât learned anything,â Leslie said in a low voice. âIâm being serious with you. Why are you insulting me?â Aurelia muttered.
âDidnât I teach you not to handle everything on your own?â he asked.
Aurelia mumbled, âButâ¦â
âNo âbuts,â and definitely no divorce,â Leslie said firmly.
With that, Leslie tore up the divorce agreement right in front of Aurelia.
Aurelia was stunned. She looked incredulously at the pieces on the table and then back at Leslie.
âMr. Synder, I thought you hated me. Why wonât you agree to a divorce?â she asked.
Leslie hesitated to answer. âIâ¦â
Why wouldnât he agree to a divorce? Leslie couldnât come up with an immediate answer.
He casually came up with a reason and said, âMy mom wouldnât be happy about it.
âOh.â Aurelia nodded and felt that she shouldnât have asked such a question at this moment. What was she hoping to hear?
Seeing her shoulders slump, Leslie approached her slowly and lowered his gaze. are you disappointed?â he asked.
âWhy
Aurelia felt her heart race and tried to move away in a panic. However, she accidentally kicked a suitcase and she grabbed onto Leslieâs arm to steady herself.
âNothing,â she stuttered, but her hand involuntarily clenched around Leslieâs arm.
Leslie glanced at her hand on his arm but didnât brush it away. âHow heartless,â he said.
His breath brushed against Aureliaâs nose, and her ears turned red.
Leslie straightened Aurelia up, pulled out a chair, and sat down slowly. âYou donât need to worry about Eva,â he assured.
Aurelia sat down and said solemnly, âMr. Synder, I didnât break the necklace
intentionally. Iâm sure I tripped on a wire, but that wire disappeared afterward. I think finding that wire is key.â
