Chapter 340
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 340
After hanging up, Leslie took something out of the fridge and stepped out of the kitchen. Aurella sat before the desk, unmoving like she was deep in thought.
Assuming that she was terrified, he immediately handed the item to her. âDrink it.â
Aurelia started the lee cola before her in shock, especially when she saw the rabbit- shaped ice floating on it. She paused for a moment and said, âThe iceâ¦â
âI froze another one last night,â Leslie explained.
Feeling touched, she downed the cola and burped. Then, she chuckled.
Leslie shot her an odd look.
âDid you think those people would scare me witless?â Aurelia asked.
He hesitated and nodded. âYeah.â
She tapped on her chest. âI was taken aback just now, but I wonât back down. Iâm not the one whoâs in the wrong here, so I shouldnât be the one everyone condemns.â
Leslie was shocked by her declaration and looked at her in silence.
She raised her phone with resignation. âSorry, Mr. Synder, but you will have to come with me to the police station again.â
âWhy?â Leslie asked.
âDefamation is a crime. I need to protect my reputation and rights,â she said seriously.
Leslie paused. A moment later, he snapped out of his daze. He stood up and said, âLetâs go.â
Leslie trusted Aurelia without hesitation and was willing to accompany her. Aurelia felt slightly relieved from the fear that overwhelmed her earlier.
They returned to the police station, where they submitted all the evidence from last nightâs testimony to the police.
The officer on duty was a woman. After examining the evidence Aurelia provided, her face wrinkled slightly. âYouâre very brave,â she said.
âItâs what I should do,â Aurelia said.

The female officer furrowed her brows and asked, âYour name is Aurelia?â
Aurelia nodded. âYes.â
âYou were involved in the case where the jewelry was damaged, right?â the officer clarified.
âYes.â Aurelia felt a little embarrassed by that question.

The female officer glanced at her and then at the file. After a moment of thought, she said, âWeâve already investigated the jewelry case. You should try to remember if thereâs anything else you might have overlooked. That way, we can clear your name.â
The female officer was clearly trying to give her a hint.
The sudden moment of relaxation and the officerâs goodwill triggered Aureliaâs memory.
Aurelia recalled something, but she didnât know how to articulate it at that moment.
Leslie, however, immediately read her expression and asked, âWhat have you remembered?â
Aurelia concentrated and tried to articulate her thoughts. âThe positioning, itâs wrong.â
Leslie guided her to a nearby rest area and asked someone for a piece of paper. âTake your time. Thereâs no rush.â
Aurelia held the pen, feeling the reassurance of someone by her side. She quickly sketched the scene on the paper. Such drawings were easy for her as a planner. She relied on her memory and marked down the positions of each person.
âI walked from the couch resting area to the shooting area, where I tripped and fell here. If someone wanted to remove the wire immediately, only one person could have done it, âshe explained.
With that, Aurelia raised her sketch and pointed to a name written on it.
