Chapter 350
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 350
Aurelia felt relieved that the truth of the matter was coming to light.
Suddenly, the police thought of something else and stopped to look at Aurelia. âBy the way, Ms. Simmons, you mentioned that you wanted to accuse more than one person of defaming you, right?â
âYeah. Iâve gathered all the evidence. I will submit everything right away,â Aurelia said. seriously.
âAlright. I will need you to come over a few more times in the next two days. We will reach out to everyone involved one by one,â the officer informed her.
âThank you,â she said.
As everything was settled, Aurelia felt her heart settling down as well.
Night fell as they stepped out of the hotel. Worried that the same incident from the train station would happen again, Aurelia suggested that they take the taxi to where Leslieâs car was parked.
Leslie agreed and they hailed a taxi.
As they got in, Aurelia said in bafflement, âDespite all that weâve done, the hotel didnât even try to stop us. Itâs so strange.â
Leslie leaned against the window with his hand on his forehead.
Of course, the hotel didnât interfere. He had everything arranged.
âThe hotel doesnât want trouble, so they will definitely cooperate,â he lied.
âThatâs true.â Aurelia chose to believe him once again.
Just as she was about to ask something else, her phone rang. It was a call from Eva.
She showed Leslie her phone screen and hung up. âI know that whoever loses patience first will lose. You taught me that, Mr. Synder.â
âThatâs right.â He nodded with approval.
âYou wonât get to say that I never learn now,â she mumbled.
Leslie fell into silence, wondering if Aurelia thought he couldnât hear her.
Leslieâs gaze fell on Aureliaâs face. Against the backdrop of the neon lights outside the window, she had a look of indescribable beauty.
A few seconds later, Leslie blinked and snapped out of his daze. He had started to pay too much attention to Aurelia without even realizing it.
Just then, Aureliaâs phone rang again. It was Eva calling once more.
This time, Aurelia didnât let the phone ring for even three seconds before hanging up.
Sure enough, this provoked Eva into posting on her Facebook with Aurelia tagged.
âAurelia, I hope you found yourself a very good lawyer. Weâll meet on Friday, rain or shine.â Eva wrote.
She wanted to meet on Friday?
Aurelia puzzledly showed Leslie the Facebook post. âTheyâve asked to meet me on Friday. Theyâve already pinned all the blame on me, so why would they still want to see me? Are they trying to force me to pay?â
Leslie explained, âIt is just a form of coercion, but not to make you pay. They want you to confess. Right now, youâre refusing to respond to the whole matter and actively cooperating with the police investigation.
âEva is worried that your lack of fear might lead to unexpected consequences. If you refuse to confess, they canât explain themselves to the owner of the jewelry.
âBorrowing jewelry is a common practice in the fashion industry, but others arenât fools and wouldnât lend it out casually. Eva probably wants to take advantage ignorance of the rules, force you to confess, and thus completely exclude
from taking any responsibility.â
âHow is it that you know everything?â Aurelia asked in surprise.
âIâve heard the boss mention it,â he replied casually.

âYour boss is indeed very knowledgeable. If you hadnât told me, I wouldnât have known all this. Thanks,â Aurelia said innocently with a smile.
Leslie nodded somewhat casually, but he felt conflicted on the inside.
He suddenly realized that lying was becoming easier and easier for him, even though he used to dislike lying.
Aurelia didnât notice the change in Leslieâs expression. She lowered her head and replied
to Evaâs post.
âAlright, Iâll be there. Rain or shine,â she said.
Since she couldnât escape, she might as well stir up trouble.
Sure enough, Aureliaâs provocative response caused a stir.
Eva rallied everyone she could to share her post, then waited for the trial on Friday.
